Quick Vacation to a NARS Oasis

NARS Oasis Blush ($26.00 for 0.16 oz.) is described as a “sparkling pink champagne.” I wonder how they settled on that description, because this shade is extremely difficult to describe aptly!

It actually looks like a rather muddy mess of pink, berry, and gold shimmer in the pan, but it’s quite beautiful when applied onto skin.  It really doesn’t look gorgeous in the pan, as many blushes often do, but don’t judge a book by its cover.  On skin, it becomes a rosy berry mauve with soft flecks of gold shimmer-glitter (not quite glitter, but larger than glitter!). The pigmentation is excellent, and like many NARS blushes, a light hand is a must!  (In fact, you may want to use a stippling brush or have a buffer brush on hand for diffusion of color.)

Despite being neutral to neutral-cool, it wears well on my warmer skin tone (which may be a little tanner, since I spent the weekend outdoors, though I was lathered in SPF for sure!) and is a great alternative to starkly cool pink blushes for those with stronger warm undertones.  There is some glittery bits in this blush, but it’s not overwhelming and doesn’t even seem to translate onto cheeks at all (just seems to disappears into a magical puff of glittery smoke and mirrors!), but cheeks do have a soft, subtle luminous sheen–that doesn’t emphasize pores–when all is said and done.

I love NARS blushes. Needs to get me some fo’ sho’!

By the way, I went to Kiehl’s today. The product I suggested has only been launched in Europe & Asia because it contains 2 ingredients not approved of by the DA (I believe?). Boo! 🙁 I’m really sorry, I should’ve researched more before suggesting it to you 🙁 I would be more than happy to send you one!

Well, that would explain it! (Probably the FDA – Food & Drug Administration!)

But no worries! To the boyfriend it goes!

I think it could, but VERY, VERY lightly! I think it could be really nice, particularly in the fall/winter as a pop o’ plum on cheeks.

Hi Christine,

How do you think this will transfer on my NW45 skin tone? I bought taos, while I love the color, the glitter chunks separate from the color and ends up all over my face. Yuck! So I’m trying to exchange it for another color. Any Nars recommendations? Thanks so much.

I do! I’ve had trouble with the glitter in Super Orgasm and some of their eyeshadows, but this felt and looked very natural and I didn’t notice any fall out issues with the glitter!

Have you tried Sin or Deep Throat?

Although I don’t think I would personally wear this (I’m NW15 almost all year round), I think this blush is gorgeous!! I definitely need to try a NARS powder/cream blush sometime soon!

Oasis looks like Love Joy to me from the pics you posted of Oasis…Christine can you put side by side comparisons of Love Joy and Oasis please?

ROFL she really is! hehehe And we who check her site every single day (several times a day) are all such willing victims. 😉 😀 MUA!! We love you Christine. 🙂

Love ya right back! 🙂 But TRUST, y’all enable me just as much… because someone will say, “Have you tried X? Are you going to try Y?” and I might have been like, “Ehh, I can skip! I can pass!” but then I cave when someone asks about it!

LOL Okay that makes me feel better then. lol So we’re all going broke together then?? At least we’ll go under looking fabulous and in good company! 😉 😀

That’s pretty. I tried Sin in the store and I have been thinking about it ever since. But I think I may hold out and just buy the Sin/Casino duo at Sephora. Right now I love the cream blush Lokoum and as far as powder blush I love using Gilda. NARS is absolutely my favorite blush hands down! Now I need to try out Oasis…

I think it would be too dark on my skin tone but it looks absolutely gorgeous on you ! Makes you glow and look young and healthy. You should definitely continue using it, it looks great on you !!!

I honestly don’t have a lot of nars blushes but i have orgasm and one of my favorites is torrid but I’m definitely considering purchising a couple more especially this one
and I was wondering if maybe you could swatch silvana

Oasis is one of my fave blushes ever, I thought on my skin it would look muddy or be too dark as so many NARS blushes (I’m a MAC NW20 for ref.) are for me, but this is really a gorgeous mauve with a hint of shimmer and not too dark, it’s very buildable.

I love NARS Deep Throat and Lokoum, and I just recently purchased Radiance, by Smashbox. I feel like I’m set on blushes, but this is so pretty…!

Oasis is one of my absolute favorite blushes. I prefer it more for Fall.. but it’s something I can never see myself without. Love it.

I agree that it doesn’t look amazing in the pan but swatched/applied, I think it’s one of NARS’ best blushes!

I have gone through bouts of total OBSESSION with NARS blushes…and yet this one managed to fly under my radar!! Not anymore!!! Haha. I think I will add this to my wish list! 😀

looking pretty christine
m thinking of buying deep throat as recc. by you long time back….
what would u say about this blush on me ??
should i go for this or deep throat??
i have only one blush from nars…
love
rashmi

this reminds me of SOFTDEW beauty powder from the indie girl look in a box SO MUCH. christine, do you have/ plan on picking any of the look in a boxes up any time soon? theyre really great 🙂

I’m looking for a Nars blush for my NW20-25 skin, that looks naturally, and not too much shimmer. I have to order it online because Nars is not available in my country, do you know te perfect Nars-shade for me?

I think this is gorgeous in the pan and gorgeous on the skin. In the pan it reminds me of a slightly pinker and more mauve version of Nars Madly blushl.

Does this compare to MAC Blushbaby (minus the shimmer) or is my computer playing tricks on me? It looks quite similar in the pan, as far as I can tell. What do you think?

Im a NW50 & I loveeeeeeeeeee Oasis blush.. I wanted to get the orgasm or super orgasm blush… but the sales lady in Sephora insisted I try it bc the orgasm & super orgasm blush would be translucent.

On my 40/42 skin tone, this blush looks kinda mussy. I look like someone beat me up! Perhaps it was how the MA applied it on me at the NARS counter… I bought it regardless 😛 Cause I wanna like it :p I’ll see how it goes! Haha.

Hey christine,
how do you think this would look on NC15 skin?
it looks gorgeous on you!!
I am going to be in sephora next week and am trying to decide between this and Korres natural blush!
