NARS Night Flight Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches

NARS Night Flight Nail Lacquer

NARS Night Flight Nail Lacquer

NARS Night Flight Nail Lacquer ($17.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “black with cobalt blue pearls.” It’s a new and limited edition shade from the Night Series. The coverage is fantastic–I used two coats, but it was 80% opaque with one coat. The formula is that perfect blend of thick and thin that allows for even flow across the nail bed without causing drag or patchiness. It’s a blackened-navy blue base with silver and navy blue shimmer. It is similar to MAC Biker Blue, though NARS’ formula is better (more opaque) and has a more muted appearance.

If you like a shiny finish to your polishes, you’ll definitely want to use a top coat here, because these dry to a remarkably low-shine finish. NARS’ polishes wear well on me, and I have no issues with chipping over a week–just minor tip wear, which is expected given I type all day (and I have absolutely no regard for my nails; I’ll happily pry something open with them).

Pretty. I’ve tried swatching it on my nails in Nordstrom and I love it, but I’m not sure if I can justify spending $17 for a bottle pf polish… :/

What a gorgeous polish! It does look somewhat muted and I think that makes it classier than Biker Blue. And I totally just noticed that NARS polishes are $17 to MAC’s $15. What are you thinking, MAC?

This color makes me think of Revlon’s Midnight Affair, but I think this one has a bit more greenish feel to it. It’s still quite lovely!

Just a heads up–you can get *some* of these at Beauty.com–sign up for their newsletter, always have a good “with purchase” gift plus samples! And while the price is about the same, sometimes there are good dollar off coupons floating around.

I got my very first NARS polishes today–in Night Porter (in this collection) and Orgasm (yes I had to finally get this *giggle*) I *love* the texture of the cap, reminds me of orly and Zoya mattes.

Your nails always look flawless!

I’m sure you’ve been asked, so can anyone tell me why she doesn’t paint all the way to the cuticle or on the sides of the nail? is it because they are just swatches and otherwise it might stain or be damaging to remove?

This is stunning! However, I always gravitate to colors like this, which means I probably have 5 nearly identical colors in my collection…
