MAC Biker Blue Nail Lacquer ($14.00 for 0.40 fl. oz.) is described as a “black base with purple and blue pearl,” and it has a frost finish. I did find I needed a full three coats in order to get a really solid, opaque look, but it was very pretty and rich once I finished there. Luckily, the formula is thin without being watery, so three coats doesn’t feel thick at all.
Overall, it looks likd a midnight blue polish, but it does have that inky bluish black color base with flecks of brighter blue and navy blue shimmer-glitter. Nubar’s Night Sparkle is similar but has a brighter blue base, as is Rescue Beauty Lounge’s Under the Stars, which is less blue and the finish looks different (less shimmer).

final thoughts: The $14 price tag does bring down the product’s overall score in a noteworthy way; at that price range, MAC is inching its way up to compete, far too closely (given the differences in prices on many other products still) with polishes from Estee Lauder, NARS, and Dior.

I think Illamasqua’s “Phallic” would be a dupe too. Although the shimmer in Phallic is much more subtle than here.

Yeah, in the original collection pictures, it looked like there were some magenta flecks along with the blue ones, which made it more unique, where did those go?

I don’t have anything like this. I may actually pick it up… I’ve never had any MAC nail polishes, and I know they have a bad rep, but they can’t be too horrible.
I have a couple of Mac nail polishes and they are actually not bad at all! Okay, they are not cheap but I’ve never regretted buying them.
In my previous comment, I said I wouldn’t buy, because of the price, but I can’t seem to find a good dupe.

This is a neat shade, but I just bought the blue Wonder Woman nail polish and I have other sparkly blue shades that I think come close enough that I can skip this.

Hmm…missing the magenta shimmer from the promo pics! That would’ve made this really standout if it was as apparent as it had been there.
This seems a lot like Milani’s Fairy Tale, but more of a true blue sparkle to Fairy Tale’s teal.

Yes, I wore Zoya’s Armor. Unless it is a matte polish (or a special finish in general), I use a top coat.
So pretty! I have OPI Russian Navy and thought I could skip this one but they’re totally different. Russian Navy has fine blue AND purple shimmer, this has chunkier blue shimmer. I don’t mind that the purple shimmer in this is missing. I’m glad that it’s different from my OPI one. Totally getting this.

The first three swatches of each shade are in natural light – no flash.
How does this compare to MAC’s Ming Blue as a dupe?
Ming Blue is much, much lighter – it’s more of a blue, while this is black base with blue sparkle.
I already have Rain of Flowers, do you think this is worth getting aswell.. how do they compare? x
