NARS Falaises Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer Review, Photos, Swatches

Falaises
NARS Falaises Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer ($40.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a medium-dark, reddish brown with warmer undertones and a matte finish. It had sheer, buildable coverage where three or four layers built up to mostly opaque coverage. The consistency was rather firm in the pan, so while it felt smooth swirling a fingertip against it, getting product onto a brush took more pressure and a denser brush. The powder itself was nicely blendable on the skin, and the finish was exactly in line with the brand’s promise–natural-looking bronzer that wasn’t “flat matte” but not shimmery either. The bronzer wore well for eight hours before fading on me.
The new formula is supposed to have a “matte finish” with a “sheer pigments” that look like “second-skin warmth.” There are four shades, and going from light to dark (per the brand), they are: Seaside, Laguna, Casino, and Falaises. The formula felt smoother and firmer compared to the brand’s Dual-Intensity formula (which has a similar pattern on it). The formula had sheer to medium coverage with some shades being more buildable than others. I had to use a denser brush and heavier hand to ensure product transferred onto my brush, so they would be hard to overdo.

Homage to Maxime, Loulou, and Lucie. Nice nod. Color seems more coppery than Laguna. Maybe Seaside won’t be so yellow…Nars bronzer reads yellow more than warm on me. No big fangirl here, in general.
Definitely less golden than Laguna!
Probably too warm and dark for me, I love how it looks in the pan though.
Might be too dark for you for sure!
This bronzer has a beautiful tone to it! I have fair-light skin, but I have always been attracted to bronzers with a reddish undertone. Do you think it would be too dark if I used a light hand? I ask this because you mentioned it needs 3-4 layers to be fully opaque.
Great post!
I think it would be fine with a light hand on lighter skin tones!
This isn’t for me, but I like your lips here, Christine!
Thank you, Shannon!
LOVE this colour! It has a really great balance between not being too orange nor too muddy! I’m a huge fan of the shade but I think I’ll go with one of the dupes!
Glad to hear you liked the color, Stephanie!
I thought that was Sebastian lip tar. Looks great on you!
Thanks, Wendy!
Oh, I do like how it has a cooler, less orange cast to it! And also some depth to it as well. These new shades Nars has put out look much more naturally sun-kissed and windburned as opposed to the fake looking orange hued bronzers one usually sees.
They are very natural-looking!
Hey,
When do they come out?
The date listed on the press release was 3/24.
