NARS Debauched Duo Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches
Debauched
NARS Debauched Duo Eyeshadow ($35.00 for 0.14 oz.) features a warm plum and a blackened purple. The two have enough contrast in finish and depth to work well together for a very deep, smoky eye. Both shades applied well for me and were nicely pigmented!

Debauched (Left)
Debauched (Left) is a medium-dark plum with warm, brown undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good pigmentation with a soft, slightly drier texture that was still blendable and easy to work with. The color applied well to bare skin and lasted for eight hours on me before fading.

Debauched (Right)
Debauched (Right) is a blackened purple–almost black in its base color–with faint teal and violet micro-shimmer. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single, and the consistency had a very finely-milled, velvety feel to it. There was a bit of powderiness in the pan, but it applied exceptionally well to the lid. The eyeshadow blended out with ease and went on evenly, which was a surprise given my experience with NARS’ formula and the intensity of the color itself. This shade wore well for eight hours.

Love your eye look!
Wow! As you/we learned waa-ay back when you had that MUFE makeover, your eyes are large and “ideally shaped”, but this eye look makes them look absolutely enormous! Incidentally, it’s nice to see a NARS eyeshadow duo getting a high rating again–it’s been awhile, or am I misremembering?
NARS is hit or miss with eyeshadows!
Definitely a “to get” for me! These types of smouldering dusky purples are not so easy for many brands to get right, so that is marvelous that both shades landed in the A grades.
That is a gorgeous eye look you’ve created Christine!
This is a surprise! Given that Nars’s duo haven’t always been stellar and the two shades do look, from photos, very similar to each other. For those who love just a bit of purple, this little duo is ideal. And it would easily work in with shades from palettes, such as golds and pewters.
Your eye look is stunning Christine – really, really gorgeous.
Thank you, Genevieve!
Christine, I have a Wet n Wild coloricon shadow trio in Velour Vixen that reminds me of these 2 shades plus the WnW has a cream colored browbone shade. Not an exact dupe but in the same ballpark. WnW is more burgundy than purple but it makes a nice smoky eye look imho. Pigmented shadows but a bit hard to blend. For DS shadows I am very impressed. Cruelty free as well, I have always made an effort to purchase cruelty free. I admitt I have items that i’m unsure of but thats not for this post.
Nars is so inconsistent on eyes. One is great…like this., the the next one is meh. Another reason we need you. P’cake is home. Not a whimper at the ER, but totally voiced at home…and kinda pissed. She Almost levitated when she saw and nosed Jussi. She can’t even go in the stroller for 2 weeks, and I can see that it will be constant complaints! But, she’s clearly motivated. They..meaning the bloody chip card co rejected it…with vast quantities of dough in the acct. I KNOW from prior experience, that it is shut down. The good news is that Rocky, the pharmacist, gave me Patti’s neurontin, prednisone, and tramadol…the whole script, this PM, until I can return in the AM with cash. WTF? This I supposed to be a convenience! Not. Not at all. The day I ordered from Walmart.com, it took me a day of fixing to clear the 7 online purchases. I do not relish doing it again. But the outcome for Patti is good so far, and the fact that she almost stood up, when she saw Jussi, is amazing. I even have $to spare. Not that I should use it. Going to go Love up my girl. This shadow duo is great, but I ought not.
Oh, yes, NARS is all over the place when it comes to eyeshadow.
Thank you for the update on Patticake – and so annoying that your payment method was rejected even though there was money there! How frustrating.
Beautiful eye look Christine! Do you have the details of products used listed somewhere and I missed it? I would like to try and recreate this, I really love a purple smoky eye and yours is spot on!
The details are linked right underneath the photo – it says “Look Details.”
Very nice duo. I wish the darker color had a bit more of the violet micro glitter, though.
I could never pull off the darkened purple but your eyelook is beautiful, Christine!
Does anyone know when this will be available at Sephora/Ulta?
Hi,
I went to buy them on Sephora and it’s not there. Do you know when it’s released?
Thanks!!
Sorry, there was only an approximate date, which has passed – 10/12 for retailers but not specific to any particular retailer (Nordstrom has it up, for example).
Two good plum shadows! Must have!!
I love the looks of this duo and it’s fantastic on you, Christine.. but I can’t wear these super dense colours, except for very small bits on outer corner or crease.. I would take me hundreds of years to use this duo up. 😀
I feel like even if you were heavy with it, the duo would still last at least a hundred years 😉
This is really pretty!! Love the pigmentation on this!
This one looks like I might need it. Can never have enough purple especially when it’s this good!
