NARS Bougainville Lip Gloss ($24.00 for 0.28 oz.) is described as a “sensual pomegranate … with dramatic, diva-esque color.” The description also goes on to say “deep in pigment yet sheer on the lips,” which is an interesting statement. NARS’ Lip Gloss is non-sticky and scent- and taste-free, though they have been known to smell a bit like plastic or wax. I did not notice any scent whatsoever with my Bougainville, though.
It is similar to fall’s Strawberry Fields in the way it is pigmented, creamy, lacks shimmer, and is non-sticky. The colors, however, are noticeably different. While Strawberry Fields is a bright raspberry pink-red, Bougainville is a rich berry. It has the same color-rich look with a glossy shine but no shimmer, though. This is Strawberry Fields’ older, more sophisticated best friend.

RECOMMENDATION: Because of the richness in color, it would look lovely on cooler, paler complexions for a strong contrast, but it would also flatter deeper skin tones. I think this is more wearable than Strawberry Fields, because it’s dark without being ultra vampy.

Same as you. It enormously annoys me that companies raise their prices by up to 40% for the european market.
Being from Germany I had the same problem but then I found a good online-shop. You might want to check out hqhair.com , that’s where I get my NARS stuff from. The NARS glosses are 17 GBP (about 20 €) there. Of course, there are always the shipping costs so it might be a good idea to order together with a few other people and share the shipping costs with them. Hope this will help you 🙂 .

I love it! I swatched this at Sephora a few days ago, but I did not buy it because on my hand it looked so dark and too purple. However, it is such a pretty color on the lips. I may have to buy it afterall.

Got this gloss (and my backup) in the mail last night from the Sephora VIB sale. I’m wearing it now and IT IS FABULOUS! I’ve stayed away from NARS glosses because they are typically shear. The pigmentation in Bougainville is great against my naturally dark lips.

I really really like this, this might be my first try at NARS lipgloss.
This one seems pretty, but strawberry fields is the hands down winner in my book.
I just ordered NARS Petit Monstre lipstick and Downtown lipgloss from the holiday collection…might pick up Bougainville and the purple/silver eye duo at a later date but this is all I can afford for now!
I have Strawberry fields and adore it. Bourganville gets more love from me though, its toned down a bit making it more wearable for more daily use. Its gorgeous!

I just bought this last week and I am loving it! It’s super flattering and pretty 🙂 Only complaint is that it tends to bleed just a little, I’m going to have to start wearing a clear lipliner with it, something I’ve never had to do with a gloss! Oh well, it’s worth it for such a gorgeous color… Love it because it’s dramatic without being over the top! Can’t wait for your review on Downtown, I bought that one, too, and I think it’s a super unique color. Looking forward to seeing what you think of it!

This is my first lip gloss from NARS and I love it! I was scared of how purple it looked in the tube but it’s such a gorgeous berry colour on the lips.
For the money I wish the wear time was longer. I won’t be investing in another NARS lipgloss unless they really impress me with another unique colour.

I think I may go get a back up of this. I got it during Sephora’s F&F sale and fell in love. It’s such a beautiful color. I didn’t get to get Strawberry Fields getting this color helped soften that hurt a little bit. It looks so good on my deep skintone. I will go back to get Strawberry Fields though. Yeh, for a gloss that does not have glitter in it! MAC is torturing me with their glosses…enough is enough! I’m not 12. I am so sick of those. It’s overdone. I like creamy or opaque glosses with color. This Nars one look gorgeous and definitely a keeper. Thanks for the great review. Btw, the color looks lovely on you!!

Wow, I’m in love with this gloss! I’m a bit sad to see that it’s NARS though. As much as I’ve tried, I just can’t get over the smell of their glosses.
