Milk Makeup Angel & Buffy Lip Metals Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Angel
Milk Makeup Angel Lip Metal ($24.00 for 0.26 oz.) is a medium-dark copper with warm, brown undertones and fine, multi-colored pearl. It retained a semi-glossy finish for a solid hour or until I pressed my lips together, which seemed to tamp down the glossiness, though the act of pressing and letting my lips peel apart (the texture was very, very tacky) lifted color along the center of my upper and lower lips. The texture was initially smooth and easy to spread across my lips, but it developed into a much tackier, thinner consistency within a few minutes. It had good color coverage that went on evenly. This shade lasted for five and a half hours and felt non-drying, though it wasn’t comfortable to wear for me.

Formula Overview
$24.00/0.26 oz. - $92.31 Per Ounce
The Lip Metal formula is supposed to be "pigment-packed" with a "foil-like" finish that has "comfortable to wear" that is designed to be long-wearing. It has more of a setting period than a true dry down; it has more of a thicker, smooth gloss-like feel as it sets down to a thin, very tacky texture. After waiting 30 minutes for it to dry down or set on me, I tried pressing my lips together to test, and I could feel my lips slowly peel away from each other as it was painfully tacky, and then it revealed a less glossy finish each time I pressed my lips together and pulled them apart. The color lifted along the center of my mouth, so it's the type of product that is high-maintenance as I could not press my lips together during wear without ruining the application. If I did not press my lips down, it was still partially glossy after an hour of wear. The lasting time varied wildly based on what I did--whether I ate or drank or talked--the more talking, the worse the wear, as my lips seemed to press together more often. Just going about my normal routine, they lasted between five and seven hours on me and were non-drying.

Buffy
Milk Makeup Buffy Lip Metal ($24.00 for 0.26 oz.) is a medium-dark plum with subtle, warm undertones and multi-colored pearl. It had semi-opaque color coverage in a single layer with a smooth, spreadable consistency that developed into a tacky, clingy texture that really hugged the lips to the point where it was uncomfortable after an hour of wear. I did not feel like it was actually drying my lips out after removing the product. It remained slightly glossy for an hour or until I pressed my lips together. This shade lasted for six hours on me.

Yay! I was hoping you would eventually get these and review them! Sucks they weren’t rated better for the price, ‘cuz I would’ve purchased them for the names alone if they were cheaper – or higher quality. :/
So far, all of these look so beautiful worn, but they also seem to have a cling-wrap sounding feel to them. Which negates the complex, super pretty shimmery look, unfortunately.
Angel, in particular, is just so gorgeous and complex!
They’re really pretty looking, but the texture sounds as though it would drive me crazy.
Nice shades, but sounds like they are very painful to wear. Skip. Milk really slayed the names though! 😉
I love the colour of Angel, but these don’t sound too comfortable to wear.
Slayer, Buffy, Angel, Willow? Someone at Milk is a “Buffy” or “Angel” fan. (But I notice they’re not promoting them as any sort of tie-in.) I wish they were better, I would have purchased them for the names!
There’s always hope for a Spike!
I have to admit that I’ve been really tempted to get these JUST for the names. I’ll also admit that I got two ColourPop lipsticks because they had the same names as my dogs.
Too bad. I really liked the colors.
Love the names! Shame the quality isn’t there.
Buffy is a cute color.
