Milani Sexy Rose Lipstick
Milani Sexy Rose Lipstick
Milani Sexy Rose Lipstick ($4.99 for 0.14 oz.) is a frosted, lightened raspberry with soft fuchsia shimmer. The finish is a heavy frost, so those with dry or chapped lips will likely find it emphasizes imperfections and may even be a touch drying. I was actually reminded me of an old favorite limited edition MAC shade–Wild ‘Bout You–but this is a lighter variation, not quite as red, a bit berrier.
Milani’s Color Perfect Lipstick is a nice formula that delivers opaque color and are usually creamy, though this frostier shade was a bit drier. They do have a rather a synthetic/waxy scent, though, which may be too much for those with sensitive sniffers. I typically get three to four hours of wear on average with this formula.

FINAL THOUGHTS: It’s not as creamy as many other Milani lipsticks are, and the frosty finish doesn’t help it feel moisturizing. Â I like it, and it works on my lips, but if you have drier lips, you may want to opt for a less frosted version.

This color looks awesome on you! I just picked this up last week.
what a gorgeous color! too bad it’s drying and too bad Milani displays are practically always wiped out in stores. I have MAC Odyssey which is one of my faves. i have a love-thing for berry colors.
Ooh so pretty! 🙂
i love the way this looks on you! what a fantstic color
So pretty! I’ve been really into lipsticks recently, and this one is really eye-catching 🙂 I’ve never tried Milani lipsticks, maybe this will be my first…
Are Milani lipsticks “waxy”? For some reason they always look that way to me!
I wouldn’t say waxy at all, though after they lose their scent, you can smell the wax in the base!
I got inspired by this post and went to Publix and bought Milani Coral Cabana (pretty coral-orange with gold reflect) for just $3.49! I have to mention that the synthetic waxy-floral smell is somewhat annoying even on the lips, but at least it’s not a terrible smell. Anyway, it was really cheap and looks nice!
I’ve had issues with the Milani brand in the past. They have terrific colors for lips, glosses, eyeshadows, blush etc, but their eyeshdows are very powdery and don’t have staying power. The lipsticks I’ve tried have all been drying and too frosty. The glosses don’t apply well. I hope they can fix their stuff cause I would buy if the ingrediants change.
Wow – loving the shimmer in this – great price too! xoxo
I like this color a lot.
Man, it seems like there are only a very, very few colors that don’t look smashing on you!
Thanks for all of your hard work. It seems like this week there has been tons by you!
love this color. not sure why I never quite find milani appealing. I’ll have to give them a try though based on the swatches you’ve posted.
If you are put off by synthetic sweet scents, though, beware! I’d say that’s probably the biggest drawback of them.
That color looks gorgeous on you.
i love how if this was mac every1 would be amazed by the color but since its not more people r leaving it.
you know how brand has such an influence on the masses..
what sucks is that the more people buy from a brand the more cocky some of them become about selling products that are no longer the quality or value that brought them the customers. I find it really sad to buy a concealer or mascara from a very highly regarded company and find it much inferior to Maybelline or L’oreal items on the shelves for a decade. it undermines my pleasure in buying new makeup.
LOL
I kinda think that’s true. “for the collection” idea but it’s funny because I also think people don’t want to like a cheap (and even though I am fine with L’Oreal & Revlon I have to admit I perceive Milani & Rimmel as cheap) lipstick. yet they’d buy and wear one twice the price & the same quality which seems even more unjust. I think that’s what bothers me is that MAC or worse a $60 eye quad that earns the company dramatically more than these– and the quality of ingredients, testing, etc, is barely equal. because it comes off as a scam (and then I don’t want to buy anything from the company).
Your blog has actually gotten me to start to like berry lipsticks, I usually go for corals or nudes but Im really liking the plumier look with shades like this!
This looks gorgeous for Spring! I like some of Milani’s products and I think they have some good quality lipsticks.
