Milani Pink Play Color Harmony Blush Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Pink Play
Milani Pink Play Harmony Blush Palette ($13.00 for 0.30 oz.) swirled together to create a soft, light-medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a satin sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out without issue. The consistency was slightly dusty to the touch but sat well on my skin. The blush lasted for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.
The formula is supposed to be a “high-impact, buildable blush” that “blends easily” but simultaneously has “richly pigmented shades” that can be used alone or together. The top three sections are larger, but only the top section (the one that often has more shimmer) is truly large enough to accommodate the average blush brush. I think it would be more practical to use two or three shades at a time, rather than only one. The way they are described on Milani’s website is contradictory (at least, in the order/way they said it), but on the back of the compact itself, it says “four pigment-rich and ultra blendable blush tones” and so I am holding the blushes to that: “pigment-rich.”
The quality of the powder varied a lot from shade to shade, palette to palette, with some shades being softer and more pliable and others being more firmly pressed and yielded sheerer coverage. The coverage varied from medium to opaque with most shades within the palettes being blendable. A few shades darkened on me a few minutes after initial application (which was the point where I took photos, so you could see the result). The wear ranged from seven to eight and a half hours on me.

Pink Play #1
Pink Play #1 is a light-medium pink with warm, yellow undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good color payoff with a soft, blendable texture that wasn’t too dusty or too firmly pressed into the pan. This shade wore well for eight hours on me.

Pink Play #2
Pink Play #2 is a brighter, medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had buildable coverage from medium to mostly opaque, and it seemed to brighten and darken simultaneously on my face (which has more of a normal skin type, whereas my arm was quite dry). The texture was soft, a bit powdery in the pan, but it was fairly blendable on my cheeks. The color started to fade on me after eight hours of wear.

Pink Play #3
Pink Play #3 is a medium pink with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. It had sheer coverage, which was buildable, but the texture was very firm in the pan. This made it challenging to pick up product with a brush, even after jabbing at it. The blush darkened on my skin after about five minutes of wear (when it was photographed). It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before becoming patchy.

Pink Play #4
Pink Play #4 is a light-medium pink with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-sheer pigmentation that was buildable to semi-opaque coverage with two to three layers. The powder was smooth to the touch but slightly firmer int he pan overall, so it took a bit of extra effort to blend out. It lasted for seven and a half hours on me before fading.

Wow…this one scored far too low for me to even consider. What a shame, too, as this could have been a beauty if the formula had been more consistent across all 4 shades. A little more contrast between the colors would have also been a plus, I believe.
I know! I almost wish they had gone with really tiny stripes of product to make it hard to use just one shade… because they seem to come together better as a whole than individually.
Too bad it was stiff and patchy 🙁 The color is nice for the pice.
Maybe next time!
This one is not a good as the last one, which is a shame as Milani are famous for the blushes.
I agree!
I never thought I’d see Milani mess up a pink blush. 🙁
I was surprised these weren’t better!
