Milani Bella Rosa (11) Baked Powder Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Milani Bella Rosa (11) Baked Powder Blush
Milani Bella Rosa (11) Baked Powder Blush ($7.99 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep, vibrant reddish-pink with a mostly matte finish. Clinique Berry Pop (03) (P, $21.00) is less red, lighter. Chanel Chamade (67) (P, $38.00) is slightly warmer (and a cream product). Tom Ford Beauty Narcissist (LE, $55.00) is pinker, cooler-toned, and more shimmery. See comparison swatches.
If you’re a big fan of richly pigmented blushes, you might fall in love for Bella Rosa, because it’s not a shy blush at all. It will apply at full intensity if you’re not careful! I recommend using a stippling brush to apply something like this if you’re looking for a softer, sheerer look. The powder has a soft, smooth, silky texture, so I expected it to blend easily, but it did take some effort to even out the color. It’s not too difficult, but when the shade is this intense, every bit counts–you really want a blendable texture. There’s a lot to like about this blush, and to see this level of pigmentation for under $10, I’m impressed. I can see this working beautifully on deeper skin tones, but with a feathery brush and touch, even very fair complexions will be able to make this work. The color wore very well for eight hours before starting to fade around the edges.

Not going to lie, this shade scares me more than a little…! It looks lovely on you though!
It’s pretty intense! I like pigmented blushes, but since I wouldn’t wear this at its full intensity, I’d probably pick something more medium in color instead. Always easier to work with!
Very pretty. I really like how the blush looks with your lip color. So flattering! I’m blushed out for a while but these look great!
Thanks a lot, Megan!
OMG!! This is STUNNING! !! I haven’t seen this color at drugstore ever, I’m thrilled to see Milani putting out matte blushes.
And TRULY pigmented. Just as you’d expect from what it looks like in the pan!
Beautiful! So glad they came out with matte blushes! How does this compare to NARS Coeur Battant?
Coeur Battant is much, much cooler and pinker. I wouldn’t even say they’re really similar!
Just picked this up yesterday! I think it’s a dupe for Tarte “Natural Beauty”! I tweeted a comparison swatch yesterday 🙂 The texture of the A-C blushes is much harder but color-wise– they’re super close.
Good to know! Thanks!
Christine you make the best reviews ever! Thank you for doing the new Milani blushes. I just bought luminoso, rose d oro, dolce pink and coralinna. I cant wait to try them for the first time. I will be looking for these.
No problem, Kary! 😉
Oh that Luminoso is one of my top five fave blushes. Enjoy it! 🙂
Gosh this is pretty in the pan! I like that natural looking lip product you area wearing and your skin looks fantastic!
Aww, thanks Wendy!
Soo beautiful…reminds me of La Femme’s Magenta blush (not as bright as this imo) which I have but have barely touched! I think I need to “re-discover” that one first before I purchase this.
I agree! You should use what you have first! Something like this is SO pigmented and will last so long that if you don’t end up reaching for it… not such a good deal after all!
How does this compare to MAC’s Frankly Scarlet?
I don’t have it that I can recall, but I think it is redder.
Frankly Scarlet is super red with very little pink in it. Beautiful!
It reminds me a little bit of Tarte Natural Beauty. I really like it.
Yay!
I absolutely LOVE this! I will be picking it up the next time I’m in a shop that carries Milani! I even wrote it down in my phone so I remember the shade name haha.
Haha! Fingers crossed you can find it soon!
Lovely, I like this one even better than Deliciozo Pink.
Awesome 🙂
Wow, that’s a very intense blush!
It’s SO pigmented!
Such a gorgeous hue! We love how it looks on you!
Thanks a lot!
I love that Milani will have matte blushes now! It looks nice on you!
Me too! Hope they add more shades!
This is beautful!!! I LOVE YOUR PHOTOS AND SWATCHES! Even if we don’t have the same skin tone (I’m nc42 so the products look on me nothing like they do on you) I love looking at your makeuo ideas and the color swatches.
I love this color, but I’m not one for wearing bold blush (nor I think the color would suit my yellow-toned skin 🙁 ), however, I’ll buy it for my BFF who just LOVES pigmented blush (I gifted her Nars’s “Boys don’t cry” and it’s her favorite) and is crazy about pink 🙂 thanks for giving me such a nice gift idea.
Ooh, she will be all over this one, Daniel! 🙂 Great thinking.
Thank you so much! xoxo
Such a pretty shade of pink!
Agreed!
Would u happen to know how it compares to Tarte Natural Beauty blush?
I don’t, but reader Rikki said it reminded her of it!
Its official then, 2014 is beginning to look more and more the year of blushes. I am picking up both the shades!
Right? I’m curious if we’ll see blush overload every season!
wow, this looks so beautiful on you. how did you get such a soft application of such a pigmented blush? what brush did you use?
Hi Beka!
I used MAC’s 131, but the trick is to just not use as much 🙂
holy pigmented! it’s gorgeous though
Very, very pigmented!
I got that blush a couple of weeks ago and I love it! Definitely need a light hand though, but that’s fine with me.
Yayy!! Happy to hear you found it, Samantha!
Oh, that’s so close to the TF!
Awesome to hear it is close enough for you! 🙂
Whoa, that is some intense pigment! I love pigmented blushes though, because I feel like you have more options, even if they are a little trickier to learn to apply 🙂 But then I learned to apply blush on my vampire skin with Chanel Affinite, so I guess I jumped in at the deep end there…
Affinite… yes, that is an intense one to start off with 😉
I thought that was going to look like a freaky neon pink on you, but actually it’s beautiful! You look especially so with the lip balm!
You can definitely wear it sheerer/more intense as you please, so you can get a bolder, more neon-like look if you want 😉
its very very pigmented. I like the fact that drugstore brands are improvising on their formulas so much. Great for daily wear. I think a smidgen of it would go a long way.
Oh yeah, this blush will last you awhile given how pigmented and intense it is!
This is gorgeous! I’ve never said no to a gorgeous blush…and I won’t to this one! Thanks darling:)

My pleasure!
YES!!! MILANI DID IT!!! CANNOT WAIT TO BUY THIS ONE.. THANKS FOR POSTING CHRISTINE.
No prob, ZG!
This colour looks absolutely terrifying on the pan, but it swatches so beautifully! I am so glad to see tons of new drugstore blushes for the spring that won’t break the budget but of decent quality (compared to a few recent MAC MSF fails!) I’m quite happy to see that this compares really well to Clinique’s Berry Pop (on my to-buy list) and the CHANEL blush! Might have to pick this up!
LOL! It is a very intense shade for sure!
This is beautiful! I have so many blushes though, do I really need another? lol
If you’re asking me… you must want the answer “always.” 😉
This looks like a perfect bright, watermelon pink shade! I own Luminoso and have been wanting to try another shade. This one may be it.
Sounds like a good plan, Abby 🙂
So pretty especially paired with that lipstick!
They do work well together!
This blush and the Delizioso Pink are SO beautiful. Milani is no longer available at all in Canada (for a short time, it was sold at my local grocery store, which was BLISS). I’m going to Buffalo in a few weeks so can someone PLEASE tell me where these are available in a retail outlet? CVS? Rite Aid? I really would love to get these or at least have a look at ’em.
I saw a couple readers mention CVS had them, but I don’t have an official press release on this (just received the two blushes in a box). I know Milani is showing them online, though. Others say not yet in stores…
Thanks, Christine. I won’t be going for a few weeks so with a bit of luck, perhaps they’ll be in store by then (if not, I can always console myself with some Sephora purchases!)
Wow it looks beautiful!! I have two Milani products I picked up in America and I am disappointed I didn’t pick up more I really like their products. Good quality.
They’re one of the most consistent brands, too – mostly good stuff!
so inlove with this color. been really obsessed with really bright colors. 🙂
I’m so impressed with it and I love the look it gives my cheeks. If this were placed in high end packaging, it would be hard to tell that it’s only $8.
Looks absolutely stunning on you even though it looks scary in pan!!
Love this. Definitely going to get one. It looks far warmed toned when swatched than I expected it to be.
I hope you love it when you get it, Sandra!
Wow those new milani matte blushes! I live in asia that’s y i cnt get my hands on them but always checking ur site for reviews! Wow the pigmentation! Im always attracted towards red shades coz it looks more natural flushed effect! By the way i really love ur lippie that u used there! Care to share the brand & shade? Wow i do hope we have those here in the Philippines! I mean we have cosmetic stores that carry international brands but not all line, but will definitely lok forward to ur reply! 🙂
The pigmentation is crazy bright!
