Afterglow

Milani Afterglow Strobelight Instant Glow Powder ($10.00 for 0.30 oz.) is a very light peach with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, but if I used a lighter touch, I was able to get sheerer coverage that applied and blended out well. It was also forgiving enough that I could diffuse and buff out the highlighter if I felt like I applied more than I needed (or wanted). The consistency was soft enough that it was easy to pick up the product onto my brush while being firm enough that there was no powderiness in the pan. It was blendable and did not appear dry or chalky on the skin. There was a moderate sheen on the skin at medium or greater coverage that did not accentuate my skin’s texture. The highlighter stayed on well for eight hours on my skin.

The formula is powder highlighter that’s supposed to have a “radiant finish” and is available in seven shades (you can view swatches of all shades here). The consistency was similar to a lot of other “gelee” highlighters: smooth, soft but more firmly pressed (where there was no powderiness but was still pigmented) with semi-opaque to opaque coverage and a frosted to a metallic finish. Some shades emphasized my skin’s natural texture slightly when worn heavily. This formula will be most suitable for someone who likes an intense, more metallic highlighter and warmer-toned shades.

Dayglow

Milani Dayglow Strobelight Instant Glow Powder ($10.00 for 0.30 oz.) is a light-medium, peachy gold with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had good pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin, blended out easily, and did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. The consistency was soft without being powdery, smooth, and diffused as I applied it in a way that made application effortless. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading.

Hi Warpaint ,
Having just moved to Vancouver from San Francisco last spring , I was happy to find Milani at Rexall Drugs , not sure if the highlighters have been released here yet .:))))

With all the amazing drugstore highlighter options, I feel like brands [especially the mid range and high end ones] have no excuse for poor performers!

Milani’s always been my favorite brand. Looks like I’ll have to get my hands on these! Thanks for reviewing these, Christine 🙂

Pretty and only ten bucks!I saw a couple of these at Walmart and was tempted to buy the darkest shade a pretty bronze but alas I have way too many highlighters. I’m sure others will enjoy these, glad they got a good rating from you!

Mirror, mirror on the wall…I think I will be buying these both! The colors seem very light hopefully and a gorgeous design.
