Milani Afterglow & Dayglow Strobelight Instant Glow Powders Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Afterglow
Milani Afterglow Strobelight Instant Glow Powder ($10.00 for 0.30 oz.) is a very light peach with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, but if I used a lighter touch, I was able to get sheerer coverage that applied and blended out well. It was also forgiving enough that I could diffuse and buff out the highlighter if I felt like I applied more than I needed (or wanted). The consistency was soft enough that it was easy to pick up the product onto my brush while being firm enough that there was no powderiness in the pan. It was blendable and did not appear dry or chalky on the skin. There was a moderate sheen on the skin at medium or greater coverage that did not accentuate my skin’s texture. The highlighter stayed on well for eight hours on my skin.
The formula is powder highlighter that’s supposed to have a “radiant finish” and is available in seven shades (you can view swatches of all shades here). The consistency was similar to a lot of other “gelee” highlighters: smooth, soft but more firmly pressed (where there was no powderiness but was still pigmented) with semi-opaque to opaque coverage and a frosted to a metallic finish. Some shades emphasized my skin’s natural texture slightly when worn heavily. This formula will be most suitable for someone who likes an intense, more metallic highlighter and warmer-toned shades.

Dayglow
Milani Dayglow Strobelight Instant Glow Powder ($10.00 for 0.30 oz.) is a light-medium, peachy gold with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had good pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin, blended out easily, and did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. The consistency was soft without being powdery, smooth, and diffused as I applied it in a way that made application effortless. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading.

Yessss MILANI bring these to Canada! NYX is the only brand up here with good highlighters in Drugstores so we need more options like these.
These are amazing!! I hope you get them soon.
Hi Warpaint ,
Having just moved to Vancouver from San Francisco last spring , I was happy to find Milani at Rexall Drugs , not sure if the highlighters have been released here yet .:))))
Milani is an under-rated brand!
They are!
Dayglow blends out so nicely!
It nearly blended itself, lol!
Afterglow looks gorgeous! I think even those of us with medium, tan, and caramel tones could get away with it, as it’s not too cool or icy, yet still has oomph!
I think it could work on several skin tones, too!
I love the finish of these!!!
Me too – shiny but not completely metallic!
With all the amazing drugstore highlighter options, I feel like brands [especially the mid range and high end ones] have no excuse for poor performers!
Milani’s always been my favorite brand. Looks like I’ll have to get my hands on these! Thanks for reviewing these, Christine 🙂
So true! And with so many options, period, there’s no reason for a brand to release subpar ones now!
It is nice to see such great quality at such a great price. Both shades are very pretty.
I’m thrilled with how these are working out!
A really lovely little highlighter at a reasonable price. I so wish that Milani would be in our equivalent of your drugstores here in Aus.
I wish they were, too 🙁
Pretty and only ten bucks!I saw a couple of these at Walmart and was tempted to buy the darkest shade a pretty bronze but alas I have way too many highlighters. I’m sure others will enjoy these, glad they got a good rating from you!
Nice to know that they’re in stores, too!
Oh nice!
They were!
It’s nice to see Milani come out with some lovely highlighters. I’ve sometimes been using their Bella Chiffon eyeshadow as a HL.
I could see Chiffon being beautiful as a highlighter!
Mirror, mirror on the wall…I think I will be buying these both! The colors seem very light hopefully and a gorgeous design.
Enjoy ’em, Silvia! 🙂
These are gorgeous and a bargain – I’m all in!
Woohoo!!
Yeyyy! Thanks!
