Vacay

Mented Cosmetics Vacay Bronzer ($22.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a medium-dark, reddish-brown with a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a soft, lightly powdery texture that seemed finely-milled but also a little drier as a powder.

It was easiest to apply and blend out over a lightly-set, more luminous base, but it seemed to emphasize my skin’s texture and slight dryness when applied directly on bare skin or if applied on top of a more matte base. The way the powder sat on my skin was an issue I experienced across all the shades in the range, including the lighter ones–very much reminded me of what I experienced with Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Bronzers (which some really seem to love, so while true of all products, your mileage may definitely vary!). It stayed on decently for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview

$22.00 -

The formula is supposed to be "rich in pigment" and "effortlessly blendable." The pigmentation was typically semi-opaque to opaque, and if not full coverage, certainly buildable to get there. The texture felt soft, finely-milled, and wasn't too powdery (nor too firmly pressed into the pan), but there was some dryness there.

On my slightly drier skin (at least, at the time of testing), the formula wasn't as blendable or as flattering to wear as it seemed to emphasize dryness. The formula was easiest to apply and blend out over a more luminous base that was lightly set with translucent powder, but it wasn't ideal over a more matte foundation or over my bare skin. The bronzers lasted seven to eight hours on my skin before showing fading.

The way the powder sat on my skin was an issue I experienced across all the shades in the range very much reminded me of what I experienced with Charlotte Tilbury's Airbrush Bronzers (which some really seem to love, so while true of all products, your mileage may definitely vary!).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!
