Maybelline Purple (100) Master Holographic Prismatic Highlighter Review, Photos, Swatches
Purple (100)
Maybelline Purple (100) Master Holographic Prismatic Highlighter ($9.99 for 0.17 oz.) is a sparkling, pale white base with lavender sparkle and glitter. It had a soft, loosely pressed consistency that was noticeably sparkly/glittery. The flecks adhered decently to bare skin but a fair amount of them disappeared as I blended and spread the product across my cheekbones. It looked more subtle than I expected, but there were moments where it seemed to sparkle quite a bit. I found that it did not really look glittery or shiny until layered over a more contrasting color (like a mid-tone or deeper blush). On me, it was hard to judge wear since it was a lot of sparkle and not much in the way of color, but it seemed to last around six hours but there was noticeably less glitter on my cheekbones then than when I had applied.

Such a lovely color in the pan. Too bad it isn’t a better product.
Right? So bummed!
Good grief! Reminds me of makeup one might give their kid to play with. Pure glitter and just…bad.
I was SO excited and then so let down by this!
For anyone looking for a good lavender DS highlighter, Maybelline actually got it right with the Master Fairy Highlight in 200. It’s not the greatest one out there, but considering it’s under $10, and one doesn’t have to buy an entire palette of highlighters, it’s worth considering. It’s a bit on the subtle side, but no glitter.
NYX has a good one too, but it’s a stick, not a powder.
Oh no 🙁 Was really looking forward to this shade after how good Molten Gold was!
It’s ok…there’s a Molten Rose Gold that’s just a pinker version of the Molten Gold…not glittery.
I was excited hearing that Maybelline was putting out new powder highlighter shades bit the collection seems like nothing but Debby Down moments. lol
The Rose Gold is good – more like the Molten Gold. The two Holographics (of which this is one) are basically just random glitter.
Yikes, I don’t like the look of glitter in this!
So diappointing. 🙁
