March Madness | New in Palettes & Products
March 2018
Eyeshadow Palettes
Something about today, I guess, marks the arrival of the newest in beauty for spring? summer? At this point, the seasons are starting to run together as releases have been dropping without pause for the last several months. It definitely feels like more new releases this spring than last spring to me. There are a slew of new products that launched today (a couple may not launch until a bit later today), which you’ll find below:
- Benefit Blush Bar Cheek Palette ($58, Sephora)
- ColourPop Loose Pigment Shadows ($5, ColourPop)
- NARSissist Wanted Vol. I / Vol. II Cheek Palettes ($59, Ulta)
- Natasha Denona Sunset Mini Eyeshadow Palette ($25, Sephora)
- Natasha Denona Tropic Eyeshadow Palette ($129, Sephora / Beautylish)
- Pat McGrath MTHRSHP Palettes ($55 each, Sephora / Pat McGrath Labs)
- Pretty Vulgar Phoenix Rising Palette ($35, Sephora)
- Touch in Sol Metallist High Shine Shadow Palette ($42, Sephora)
- Urban Decay Back Talk Palette($46, Sephora)
The Benefit cheek palette looks so cute and wearable. But that is soooooo much blush. 30g of blush!!!
Hoping you review Natasha Denona Tropic palette. Much contreversy over the size amount , per pan being less and charging the same amount as the SS and Lila. Also, hopefully you will review the PMcG palettes to see if they are continuing the greatness of Decadence.
I am waiting to buy these and read your reviews and VIB Spring sale
I wish the bottom row of the bigger ND had been released as a fiver. Aside from those, either way over-issued shades, or lightened up versions of the same olds. In for Nars 2 and Backtalk. Spring is coming up roses.
I hadn’t even heard of the Touch in Sol and Vulgar Cosmetics palettes, so I went to look at both of them and surprise surprise it’s more of the warm-neutral-pinky-purply trend. Does every brand have at least one palette in that colorway now? Can we move on? Can the Viseart Absinthe palette please launch a craze for green eye shadow palettes so I can angst over which ones to buy instead of smugly saving my money?
Really excited to see what the MTHRSHP Palettes and the Backtalk look like 🙂
I recently got the Pat McGrath Lip Fetish Lip Balm though and was not that impressed, so I’d definitely wait on your review before more purchases from her. It wasn’t as thick or watery looking as I thought it would be based on the model shots, more like a soothing-feeling regular balm that didn’t do that much aesthetically for my lips.
You mean March 2018?
SO sorry – such a dummy!
I think I’m pretty full palette-wise; the only one that’s caught my eye so far is Viseart Siren. But who knows, something could change that. I have the delayed gratification skills of a 3 year old. Like already, ND Sunset looks pretty…
I hope you’re reviewing Backtalk, to the point that I’m kind of obsessively refreshing the home page here. It’s so danged pretty in promo photos!
No need to refresh – I don’t have it in my possession!
But it could come at any time! (At least in my obsessive little brain.) I’m mostly patient. Just checking often. :-p
I took a chance and ordered the cool-toned Pat McGrath palette, because I have been thirsting for a cool-toned neutral palette and there it was and I feared it would sell out. Hope it will be good (and not too glittery for me.) This will be the first time I’ve tried anything Pat McGrath beyond the lipsticks.
It definitely feels far busier as regards releases than I can ever recall a non-holiday time period. It’s gotten to be ridiculous, frankly! Hard to keep up with the non-stop pace for us all, I would imagine.
As for products I am eyeing, both Viseart Theory palettes that just released, Tryst possibly, too. PMG La Vie En Rose Mthrshp 6-pan. One of the Spring Mattrance Lipsticks, too. But I’m really overwhelmed to the point of becoming very indecisive!
Christine not only are there lots of releases but the sales have been consistently coming. Last week I picked up from Sephora’s wow sale the MUFE primer & KVD Lock it Brightening powder. This weekend KVD has a sale and I order her Lock it Powder brush, precision powder brush, concelear and foundation brushes plus one metal crush shadow. Today, I ordered the TF cosmetics bag that says “Don’t let today be a waste of makeup” from their sale and I got T-shirt during the UD sale.
My one solace in my haul is that I purchased one eyeshadow and not all of the metal crush singles.
I was a bit excited to see a palette called Phoenix Rising, but of course it’s warm neutrals palette with some reddish and reddish purple shades thrown in. It looks quite pretty, but nothing special. I wish they’d used bright reds, yellow, oranges, and metallic golds instead. I’d be all over that.
I ordered UD Backtalk, of course. I think it will be a fantastic travel palette and will go great with my coloring. I probably won’t get any of the others listed here.
