Marc Jacobs Tan-tastic O!Mega Bronzer Coconut Perfect Tan Review, Photos, Swatches (2018)
Tan-tastic
Marc Jacobs Beauty Tan-tastic O!Mega Bronzer Coconut Perfect Tan ($49.00 for 0.80 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark brown with subtle, warm rosy undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation with a soft, silky consistency that was incredibly easy to apply and blend out on my skin. It had a matte finish but did not appear too flat or matte/dry on my skin. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before starting to fade. The powder has a strong, coconut scent that’s a little sweet. I found that the quality and color was consistent with last year’s release for the most part–if pressed, I’d say this year’s is a touch rosier overall and a bit softer in texture but has a similar look and feel on the skin.

As beautiful as this is, I’m actually thrilled to say “? saved!” Because my well-worn pan of UD Jawbone is incredibly close to this, just darker and more pigmented. Jawbone is my perfect contouring bronzer. I use only a little bit just under my cheekbones, edges of my forehead, sometimes under my jawline, and the buffed upwards, and it looks like a slight shadow instead of full-on bronzing.
The quality is amazing but I’m not sure of the smell. I like the PF Butter Bronzer way more. The MJ bronzer I found to smell a little dull and reminded me of Play-doh!! Still, my favorite matte bronzer over Benefits Hoola.
PS. I love your reviews!
Oh goodness! This is different than last year’s? I would have bought this lol! Not until I just read your review that I thought it was different .
It’s the same as last year!
I thought this bronzer is coming back permanently? ?
It is listed as “limited edition” on Sephora!
Lol!! I was so excited for your review that I read to quick! Now I understand, you typed, if Pressed this one is rosier and softer lol lol! I need to calm down before I read.
Do you like this better than Tantric?
They’re both about the same in terms of quality – just depends on what color one prefers. I don’t use bronzer myself outside of testing it.
It’s the packaging that’s just limited Christine
Hey Sarah!
I’ve been trying to confirmation from the brand, but I haven’t heard back. I err on the side of something being LE if and until it’s released permanently – if it is released permanently later this year, then I’ll update to reflect that, especially if the packaging is changing. 🙂
Hi Christine. They confirmed it on their official Instagram in a comment on this post
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bh-H-vJgsV1/?hl=en
That’s how I found out
Forgot to add it’s permanent from June . Hope you will be reviewing that eye pallet from this collection.
Yes, supposedly coming back permanent later this year. Not with Rose Gold lettering and not sure if the package will remain white or will go black like Tantric. I really hope they keep tantric as well.
I read somewhere that LE is only referred to the Rose Gold detail in the packaging, but the bronzer itself will be made permanent.
Christine, when I select “View all dupes” the bronzer seems to be rated A- and not A.
When I swatched it on my skin before returning it (I received it broken), this bronzer looks almost similar as CoverFX in Sunkissed, although judging by its appearance the MJ’s one looks a bit darker in the pan.
It gives an average rating between reviews, so it is an average of this rating and the original. This one did slightly better with texture.
Hopefully the permanent version that will be available later this year ( (if I can trust what I saw on MJ’s Intagram) will be consistent with A or A- ratings.
I’ll keep an eye out on it! For me, I avoid putting anything as permanent unless I can get confirmation from the brand first. I sent an inquiry to the brand but haven’t heard back yet.
Thank you Christine! Hopefully they will make it permanent so that all this crazy hunting-down-this-bronzer comes to an end. Otherwise, this LE /year for the same product risks to become annoying for consumers, even as sales strategy.
I was trying to buy it during the sale and fell asleep I missed it last year too.
In the summer this completely matched my skin so I thought complimentary.
I’m really pale and everyone says I will be able to use this. What’s your take on it? Would this work for my skin tone?
I’m not sure what your undertones are, so it would be hard to say? I’m also not sure how light you are – someone will say they’re pale but be NC15/NW15 and other times find that near-white foundations match!
I’m not sure I like the idea of the scent but damn it’s beautiful!
This looks great. I do not have the original MJ bronzer but would be willing to try this one. I am worried about whether it might be too light for me. I am South Asian – medium with neutral undertones and wear 270 in the Fenty foundation.
I brought this product and was not happy with it as it applies very patchy on me. I left a review with a one star rating on Marc Jacobs and they changed the rating to five stars. This is fraud and I am very disappointed, the comments on the Marc Jacobs Beaty website do not match the ratings given by consumers. After being very disappointed with this product I tried to find out if I was the only one with this issue, of which I am not (Jaclyn Hill also reported having the same difficulty). I actually love many of the Marc Jacobs Beauty product like but will not be spending any more money on this brand.
