Marc Jacobs Beauty Flashlight, Gleam Girl, Copperazi See-quins Glam Glitter Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches
Flashlight
Marc Jacobs Beauty Flashlight See-quins Glam Glitter Eyeshadow ($28.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bright white with subtle, warm undertones and flecks of silver and white sparkle and glitter. This shade had the chunkiest consistency out of the six that I tried and seemed to have less of a more finely-milled base, as it seemed translucent and just jam-packed with sparkle/glitter. It had nearly opaque “coverage” as there was so much glitter in a single layer. This was one of the few shades that would also work well layered over a slew of other products without altering the color of products under it. I used a flat, synthetic brush to press it onto my inner tearduct and saw a very brightening, shiny effect that was less glittery than anticipated (based on the texture) but still “dazzling” as intended. It had slight fallout during application and later on as I wore it, but it wasn’t enough that it became noticeable or distracting underneath my eye. The product lasted well for eight and a half hours on me.

Formula Overview
$28.00/0.12 oz. - $233.33 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to add a "super-shimmering dimension to any look" with a "demi-pressed process" that has "high-impact dazzle with smooth glide and bold color." Per the brand, it can be "packed on for intense glitter or blended for a soft wash of sparkle." They recommend packing it on with a fingertip or using a flat, synthetic brush in a "gentle pressing motion."
I was surprised at how well they applied with a flat, synthetic brush, as I was able to apply all six shades using a flat, synthetic brush (MAC 247s and 242s) and gently pressed the product against my lid and have most of the product adhere without lots of fallout. When I pressed on an eyeshadow, I gently press and then pull in a direction (depending on what and where I'm applying). The formula yielded very shiny, sparkling color that was intense and bright while still offering pigmentation from the base color, too.
They have a very loosely-packed texture--they seem more like a 40-60% loose product, and it was important to use the included "pigment press" to keep the surface flat. I also found that a little went a long way with most shades, and I could see fallout becoming an issue if too much product was on the brush. I usually just pressed the brush gentle on the surface and that was good enough for coverage on my lid. They lasted for eight and a half hours on me before creasing faintly, and there was slight fallout over time but nothing that reached the point where it seemed distracting/noticeable to anyone looking at me. Frankly, I was extremely impressed with how easily they applied, adhered, and lasted on me while delivering on high impact dazzle and bold color. Using fingertips worked for getting even adhesion, but I have always found it harder to be precise with my fingertips on my lid, and I did feel like my fingertip was picking up more product than I needed so there was a bit more fallout when I attempted using my fingertips.

Gleam Girl
Marc Jacobs Beauty Gleam Girl See-quins Glam Glitter Eyeshadow ($28.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a peachy brown base with finer gold sparkle and larger, gold glitter. It had rich color payoff in a single layer where a little went a long way The consistency was soft, loosely pressed (as expected), and had a smoother base powder and more refined shimmer/sparkle with only a light amount of larger glitter particles. This particular shade had a very shiny, metallic finish on the skin. It had a touch of fallout during application, and there was a very slight additional amount over eight and a half hours (after which, it showed signs of faint creasing).

Copperazi
Marc Jacobs Beauty Copperazi See-quins Glam Glitter Eyeshadow ($28.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a rich copper with warm, red undertones and a sparkling, gold and pink glitter over a metallic sheen. This was one of the more complex shade as the distinctive colors of sparkle paired with the more brightening, metallic finish caught the light particularly well. It had rich coverage in a single layer with a fairly smooth base but some texture came through from all of the sparkle/glitter. I applied this to my lid by using a flat, synthetic brush and gentle pressing/pushing motions and the eyeshadow adhered well with very, very little fallout. It wore well for eight and a half hours before creasing faintly with slight fallout over time.

When I was in Sephora a couple days ago, I was having a ball playing with all the MJ holiday goodies. The humongous highlighter was awesome, but these made me downright giddy! Copperazi and Flashlight are 2 that I am considering, plus one that will pop up in the next batch. I will only buy ONE. First of all, the price for one eyeshadow is almost prohibitive. Secondly, how often would I actually be using it, as I only rarely pull out one of my L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadow pots.
One is a good idea, Nancy!
Loving Gleam Girl. Can you apply with fingers and blend out the edges with a brush? Or will that result in fall out?
I blended out the edges with a brush without problems!
This is how a brand should do a glitter eyeshadow – exactly like MJ. Copperazi is sensational and your eye looks are beautiful.
I was surprised at how well it applied for such a glittery product!
What lipstick/lip gloss are you wearing Chrisitine? It is so pretty.
Hi Valerie!
Underneath the photo, you’ll see a caption and a link for “Look Details” which gives a breakdown of what I’m wearing – https://www.temptalia.com/look/a-sparkling-smoky-look-with-marc-jacobs-see-quins/
Christine, would you say these are similar to the Hourglass scattered light eyeshadows that launched recently?
No, definitely not. These are a loose powder, not a hybrid with a cream at all. Hourglass’ are very dense/drier.
Gotcha. I’ll compare them in store to see how they work for me. Thank you!
Wow I thought they were similar. I have houglass and I love it.
I purchased Flashlight as soon as it was available on Sephora’s app. I was really hoping these would be like Tarte Chrome paints but I found it a lot more difficult to work with. That being said I loved it once I figured out using my finger to apply would give me beautiful full glitter coverage.
I haven’t tried the Tarte Chrome paints, but I believe those are cream so I could see these being more difficult to work with but so glad you were able to find a technique that worked for you. How was the fallout + wear time for you with Flashlight?
Luckily, I have dupes for the Gleam Girl and Copperazi. One of the dupes is an F, lol, but it’s an F that I can get to work with a damp brush and/or glitter glue. These will be skips for me. The one I’m really interested in is the purple, but I probably will skip on that too. Idk why I’m willing to spend the $29 for the Hourglass ones but the thought of spending $28 on these makes me pause.
Yay for dupes 😉
Funny you mention the Hourglass ones… love these so much more myself.
That is good to know b/c I really love Smoke from Hourglass, Reflect is going back to Sephora. But maybe I will invest in the purple one from MJ.
