Makeup Geek Neptune Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.064 oz.) is described as a “matte bright blue.” It’s a brightened, cornflower blue with a matte finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff with a very soft, but somewhat powdery, consistency that is better if applied over a slightly tacky base. I would recommend patting in layers and only blending the edges, or else it is prone to sheering out. It wears for seven and a half hours before fading. Kat Von D Starflyer (LE) is very similar. MAC Heroine (LE, $15.00) is purpler. MAC Cobalt (P, $15.00) is darker. Illamasqua Sadist (P) is darker. Inglot #388 (P, $6.00) is darker. Inglot #369 (P, $6.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Makeup Geek Peacock Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.064 oz.) is described as a “matte deep teal blue.” It’s a muted, medium-dark bluish-teal with a mostly matte finish. It had decent color payoff, but the texture was soft and powdery enough that it doesn’t adhere well to bare skin. It will deliver better results with some sort of primer, as it won’t sheer away as easily. It lasted for almost eight hours before fading on me. Make Up For Ever M240 Prussian Blue (P, $21.00) is a smidgen greener. YSL Fetiche #5 (LE) is darker. Too Faced Blue Satin Sashes (LE, $16.00) is darker. theBalm Matt Schilling (LE, $16.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Makeup Geek Sea Mist Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.064 oz.) is described as a “shimmering turquoise.” It’s a muted, dirty green-teal with a satin finish. It had mostly opaque color payoff, while the consistency was soft, blendable, and fairly easy to work with. The color showeed signs of fading after eight hours of wear. Urban Decay Indo (P, $18.00) is darker. Charlotte Tilbury The Rebel #4 (P) is darker. Make Up For Ever I300 Pine Green (P, $21.00) is darker. MAC Green Room (LE, $15.00) is darker, less shimmery. Too Faced Sequin (LE, $16.00) is darker, brighter. Giorgio Armani Iridescent Jade (LE) is greener. Tom Ford Beauty Emerald Lust #2 (LE) is more shimmery, lighter. MAC Shimmermoss (P, $15.00) is lighter. Make Up For Ever #302 (DC, $20.00) is more metallic. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thanks for these swatches! I’m always on the lookout for a bright matte blue shadow that looks as great on as it does in the pan. The Illamasqua dupe looks great, but they are pulling out of the Bay in Canada so I’m not sure I can get that! This helps though.

I like the sea mist. I would have liked to see some pictures of someone modeling it though. I don’t think I would every be able to pull off the darker blues. They are pretty though!
