Intermission
Makeup Geek Intermission Pigment ($12.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a dirty bronze with warm, golden undertones and a frosted finish. This shade didn’t have much of a foiled or metallic/reflective finish–some sheen but definitely not nearly as reflective as other shades in the range. It had opaque pigmentation both dry and damp, but the damp application yielded a deeper, richer color overall that also applied a bit more smoothly, though this one was fairly easy to use even dry (I recommend pressing the brush into the cap a bit to avoid fallout). The texture was finely-milled and blendable, while the eyeshadow wore well for eight hours.

Supernatural
Makeup Geek Supernatural Pigment ($12.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a deep, reddish brown with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly finish. It had rich color payoff regardless of whether I used it dry or damp, but as you might expect, using it with a damp brush made the eyeshadow look deeper and apply more smoothly. The finish seemed less reflective damp, which is usually not the case, but it never read “foiled” to me as it lacked that high-shine finish. It started to crease on me after eight hours.

Hocus Pocus
Makeup Geek Hocus Pocus Pigment ($12.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a rosy copper with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The consistency was a little chunkier, so it took more pressing and patting of the product onto the lid for a smoother, more even application when using it dry. When I used it with a damp brush, it combined better and was smooth on the lid as I applied it without any real work. It had medium, buildable coverage dry and opaque coverage damp. The color started to crease on me after eight hours of wear.

Enchanted
Makeup Geek Enchanted Pigment ($12.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a rich plum with warm, brownish undertones and a frosted sheen. It was intensely pigmented both dry and damp, but I felt like it smoothed out and applied just a bit more evenly with a damp brush than a dry one (the color and coverage were the same, though). The consistency was fairly soft and finely-milled, not too prone to fallout, and blended out without issue on the lids. This shade wore well for eight hours before creasing.

These look nice – a bit messy but nice. I like that there is that inner plastic cover with the smaller hole to keep most of the product from going absolutely everywhere and these shades are delicious looking.
I don’t love this type of pigment packaging, though I don’t like an open jar even more, and this definitely keeps most of the product inside! I like sifters that go over the jar but actually come down into the jar, so there’s space between the lid and the sifter itself so you can work with the loose pigment on the sifter!
Same here, Christine. Sifters all the way for me here, and we all know why! They’re just a much more convenient way to use pigments, and much safer if one is either a klutz or has an insane pouncing beast of a cat!
Which brands have sifters for their eye pigments? I’ve only had MAC pigments and one from Maybelline and they’re both just open jar mouths, one of the reasons I use them so rarely.
Enchanted is so beautiful! I’m not the biggest fan of pigments, from any brands for that matter as they can get quite messy but I love the warmer shades in this review!
Totally understand! 🙂 Loose pigments are not for everyone!
Enchanted is pretty!
It is!
Wow, all of these are so pretty! Love the colors, esp. Enchanted
Enchanted has a great sheen!
These, while not true “foils”, are really lovely looking and very pigmented. At least when used damp, anyway. I like them, but either already own dupes or soon will. Enchanted is quite tempting, though.
They work well dry, but I still find loose pigments wayyy easier to use with a slightly dampened brush!
I really like Enchanted. I sort of imagine that they are a bit on the costlier side, but then I don’t have a clue how much 0.10 oz really is. How I just wish we could all have the same mesurement units! 🙂
Tomorrow I migh go and check how much the small MAC pigment jars contain, right now, after midninght I’m just too lazy.
It’ll take awhile to get through a loose pigment, IMO! Regularly pressed eyeshadows are often 0.05 oz. (I believe MUG’s are 0.064 oz.).
Thank you.
I think I might try the foiled pigment along with som foiled lipglosses, but not right now and I’ll probably forget and, voila, money saved 🙂
(I wonder if it’s an age thing, forgetting, or if it’s the beauty industrie coming out with so many news all year round.)
Absolutely beautiful shades – so autumn toned. But alas, a tad messy and oh so dupable…….
True – they can be had in other formulas!
