Makeup Geek Firework Highlighter Review, Photos, Swatches
Firework
Makeup Geek Firework Highlighter ($20.00 for 0.25 oz.) is muted, dark coppery brown with warm, orange undertones and a luminous sheen. The finish was highly reflective, mostly metallic, but it didn’t emphasize pores, which was surprising. It also appeared lighter and gave more of a golden sheen when applied with semi-sheer to medium coverage (I used a fan brush), while applied with a denser blush brush made it appear darker overall.
According to Makeup Geek, the formula is supposed to be “super-smooth” and “incredibly pigmented.” The highlighter was intensely pigmented, true to description, with a soft, light-medium dense texture that wasn’t too soft or too firm in the pan. The powder applied well to the skin, blended out with minimal effort, and had a luminous sheen. On me, the color wore well for eight and a half hours before starting to fade.

Formula Overview

According to Makeup Geek, the formula is supposed to be “super-smooth” and “incredibly pigmented.” The majority of the range is beautifully done with smooth, slightly denser textures that are blendable and easy to work with. They have good pigmentation, though some shades are more buildable than "incredibly pigmented." Most shades lasted between eight and nine hours on me.

Crazy! Pretty but a pass from me.
Gotcha! 🙂
It’s dark! But it looks nice.
It is a bold one! Great for deeper skin tones.
This one is such a beauty!! Love the shade 😉
Happy to hear it!
Love how this one imparts a gorgeous sunkissed glow to your face! I may just need to buy Celestial!
I really love the reddish tone of Firework!
My bad! Yes, Firework! ?
Is this similar to the Balm’s Betty Loumanizer?

I’m really impressed by the shade range and quality of these.
I love that Makeup Geek has been very conscious to recognize that not all highlighters work for all skin tones!
I’m your skintone Christine, (NC25) And I can see this being a beautiful bronzery shade on me! The only form of bronzer I wear is shimmery.
I wonder if this would be a good shade to add to my collection as a highlighting bronzer hmmm!!!
It should be lovely! The reddish tone makes it perfect on the skin, I think. It adds warmth without getting too yellow or orange, IMO!
Very nice. Love coppery. Guess I need some red in there; gold not so hot. This would make a lovely highlighter blush, as long as you are not too light, and would be a super highlighter on darker skin tones. This one’s a winner. They did a good job on these, the price-for-container notwithstanding. If these are really fragile, guess they belong as solos
With a bit less sparkle that would be a gorgeous eyeshadow for blue or grey eyes. Love the color.
This looks like it would be really lovely for those with deeper, warmer skin tones than mine.
