Make Up For Ever B302 Artist Face Color (Blush) Review, Photos, Swatches
B302
Make Up For Ever B302 Artist Face Color ($23.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a brighter, light-medium pink-coral with very fine, golden pearl. It had a more satin-like finish, where there was a soft glow to the skin but never looked frosted, sparkly, or metallic. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, but the consistency was denser, which made it more forgiving if one wanted to use a lighter touch (as you would not pickup as much product that way) so I felt like I had good control over using it. A moderately dense brush with a moderate hand yielded full coverage, so it also did not take building up to get there. The blush blended out easily and sat well on the skin. On me, it wore well for nine hours before fading slightly.
Overview of the Formula
The formula is supposed to have “intense color payoff” with a “long-lasting finish.” The range is split into three types–Highlighters, Sculpting Powders, and Blushes–that is easy to determine by the first letter of the shade name (H for Highlighter, S for Sculpting, and B for Blush). There are three finishes–matte, shimmer, and pearl but was less obvious. In fact, the majority of the “matte” shades were more like semi-matte or natural matte where there were no distinctive shimmer particles but they seemed to take on the natural finish of the skin, which gave the “mattes” a particularly seamless finish on the skin but might be dewier on oilier skin types than desired. None of the 34 shades available were frosted or metallic except three of the highlighters (H100, H106, H312).
The pigmentation ranged from medium to opaque, depending largely on the shade, though they were always buildable if they were not opaque in a single layer. Some of the deeper, more matte shades were less forgiving and took more effort to diffuse and blend, even when I used a lighter hand or a more feathery brush. The texture was smooth, velvety, and moderately dense without any powderiness or dustiness in the pan. The formula has lasted between eight and ten hours on me.
You can view swatches of all of the blushes, all of the highlighters, and all of the sculpting powders in the Swatch Gallery.

I adore this color and I will have to check it out in person when these hit stores. However, I wish MUFE would name their products! How am I supposed to remember B302? B302 B302 B302 there I’ve already forgotten it. Sigh.
You look lovely as usual Christine.
Thank you so much, Megan!
Add it to your wishlist here! That is what I do ?
Haha you’re a genius Marie-Estelle! Thank you 🙂
What a stunning colour! ?. I love the sheen it has.
I write it on my list ?
Yayyy!
Off to a great start — this is good 🙂
😀
That is a very charming shade!
It is!
Christine, will you be reviewing any of the other shades in this release? I have my eye on B304 and B308, hopefully those perform as well as this shade!
Hi Laura,
I purchased all of the shades and posted swatches earlier. It will take me weeks to be able to test them all – I am very sorry!
Wow, this is gorgeous!! If all of the blushes end up with this kind of formula and performance, I’ll be a happy camper, I’m a big fan of satin and natural-matte blushes.
Fingers crossed!
Love this one and I knew I would!
Yay!
Nice color and it looks so pretty on you, Christine!
Thank you, Deborah!
This shade has a very fresh “naturalness” to it on your cheeks. Like the sort of flush one would get from vigorous exercise or activity! Will have to swatch it on my arm if this is one that will be available in-store to see if it has the same oomph on my skin.
Keep me posted! They have a few corals, so if this one doesn’t work, possibly another.
This is a perfect blush for me – I love that coral and the finish looks really subtle and fine. A great range of shades too.
It is a beauty!
You have three colour products which always look freaking fantastic on you: red lips, teal liners, and coral blushes. This is super pretty on you. This one has a fair bit of pink, I could pull it off, but I think you do coral better with your complexion.
Haha!
Thank you, Wendy 🙂
I got a Sephora pan sample of this shade and it’s lovely even on my skin tone.
So happy to hear you’re enjoying it 😀
So glad this reviewed well. I purchased B300, B302 and I believe it was B306 which all arrived today. I placed my order when you first posted them here which I think was quite acceptable for shipping. I also noted that my order was very well packed with bubble wrap and paper both. I remembered that some of you have said Sephora hadn’t done a good job packing your orders so I was very thankful that mine was packed well.
Can’t wait for you to try them, Shari!
Lovely blush! Thank you for posting the ingredients – none of my allergens are there so I’m off to order a duo!
No problem, Jen!
This is really pretty and I have no dupes!
Perfection!
It’s taking some willpower to restrain myself from purchasing thus RIGHT NOW until I like two others to get a blush trio. Love this one!
I’m loving the color and finish of this. If the rest of the shades are as good, I may be in some trouble with these.
I love this pink! I may just have to pick this one up!
