The Sultry Season: Make Up For Ever #48 Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick

Make Up For Ever #44 Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a darkened red with a sheer-opaque look–it doesn’t look heavy or solid but it still delivers rather full-coverage color.   It has a creamy texture with a slightly glossy finish.  This is one of the creamier shades I’ve tried from Make Up For Ever’s Rouge Artist line-up, actually!  It wears really well, too–a nice six hours.  Make Up For Ever’s Rouge Artists are scent- and taste-free.

Is this the right red for you? Would you wear it?

The Sultry Season is a series of posts featuring deep, rich shades of brown, berry, plum, and wine lipsticks and lipglosses — just right for autumn — that runs through December 2010.

Aw, I think she looks GREAT in red, in fact in every color I’ve seen her in I think she rocked, but to each their own. I think I look awful in pink based reds but others tell me to wear them more often..

Christine i dont think you ment all MUFE Rouge Artist lipsticks are scent and taste free, but im just wondering, other than this one which others, from the ones you have, dont have a scent or taste? Its been hard trying to fing reviews about that, thanks!? And you look great in #48, actually you always look great with everything lol!

Ok thanks Christine I was wondering because I bought #19 and it has a very strong and disturbing floraly scent and taste, it could of been that it was only that shade since its a pinky mauvey color. I guess I will just have to go in store and test them myself.

This is absolutely vampy! My kind of red! And you look perfect with it what with your sultry smoky eyes!

I’m wanting more of their lipsticks as I see more swatches of them! Thank goodness I have already one that’s said to be a dupe of MAC Ever Hip/Jazzed (how could I miss either?)! But I will certainly get more of these. They’re too gorgeous to be skipped. I’d definitely trade my MAC lipsticks for these!

I hope you’ll be able to do lip swatches of the more neutral ones in the future (I have my eyes set on #2, #3, #4, and #s 22-30). I would love to see how they’d fare (I rely pretty much on your swatches although I’ve some others).

My mufe lipsticks are scented, but it’s not noticeable once I apply it and I don’t taste anything either. That’s why I prefer these over Chanel. With Chanel, I get that perfume scent all day.

This one is next on my list. Christine, perhaps you can slowly but surely feature them all to further enable me!

Ooohhh, love it. MUFE’s Rouge Artist and Illamasqua’s lipsticks are my favourite kind of formula. I feel like a lot of more expensive lipsticks are just way TOO creamy and TOO slick (Like Givenchy and Chanel). MUFE’s packs a lot of pigment with a solid consistency that actually stays on. Wonderful!

I have it! Christine, since I read your blog, my ready-to-basket buyings tend to zero! Love this lipstick on you, on me is a little darker and on the berry side but it’s because my lips are very colored

This lipstick looks pretty bitchin’ on you. I’m glad to check out these lipstick swatches on you cuz I have a similar skin tone so it really helps me actually.
