Make Up For Ever 17 Antic Gold Star Lit Powder Review, Photos, Swatches
17 Antic Gold
Make Up For Ever 17 Antic Gold Star Lit Powder ($21.00 for 0.02 oz.) is muted, medium-dark gold with warm, olive undertones and a metallic sheen. It had semi-sheer, buildable pigmentation applied dry, which was amplified to more opaque coverage with a stronger sheen when applied with a dampened brush. The texture was soft, blendable, and finely-milled to the point that the loose powder combined well when applied to the skin. I did find it easier to use on the lid than on the cheeks, as it seemed to emphasize my skin’s texture just a bit as a cheek highlighter. It wore well for eight hours on me.
The Star Lit Powders can be used to “highlight eyes, lips and cheeks” with an “ultra-fine loose powder” that can be used “wet or dry to customize coverage intensity and luminosity.” While checking the weight on these, I noticed that the weight differs from shade to shade; this one had a mere 0.02 oz. while others ranged from 0.03 oz. to 0.09 oz. I also noticed that it appears the brand identifies what area you can use a shade on by listing an icon on the back of the jar in the shape of a pair of lips, an eyeball, and then a face (presumably for cheeks).

I’d really like this on my eyes but the colour is totally a “no” anywhere on my face. But for eyes…I’d love it!
It is pretty on the eyes 😀
I like the olive undertone of this gold, I’ll have to swatch it in-store, but I think it could work on my cheeks as a nice sheen maybe. If I use a light hand.
I want to try it on my eyes and lips as a cool topper.
It could! It’s a more unique gold for highlighting than a lot of what we see (more orange-based).
Don’t mean to be a pain in the a$$ but are you sure it’s called Antic Gold not Antique Gold?
It’s listed on Sephora and Make Up For Ever’s website as Antic Gold.
This is definitely something I would love as an eyeshadow on myself, but lucky for me, I already own Jouer Tan Lines. Not an orange-toned gold for a refreshing change!
Phew! 🙂
I really like this shade!! I love golds, and I really like the undertone is this one!
The undertone makes it more interesting!
Too warm for me for sure!
Totally understand!
Absolutely stunning eye look on you, Christine. Interesting color combination that has inspired me to head to the mirror and give it a go!
Thank you, Tippy! 🙂
Came here to say the same thing. Looks really great.
It’s a beautiful shade, but I would only use it as an eyeshadow – but it’s great that the product is so versatile. Very pretty on you Christine and I love your eye look too.
Aw, thank you, Genevieve 😀
