Make Up For Ever ME734 Tangerine Artist Shadow (Blush) Review, Photos, Swatches

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow (Blush) ($21.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a bold, bright, in-your-face orange-red with a golden orange frosted shimmer. Sleek MakeUP Sunset #4 (P, $9.99) is brighter, lighter. Sugarpill Asteria (LE, $12.00) is darker, redder. NARS Taj Mahal (P, $29.00) is very similar. MAC Fresh Daily (LE, $15.00) is more muted. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Despite the more metallic finish, once blended out on the skin, it didn’t seem to emphasize pores, which was a happy surprise. It seems to diffuse and become a smoother, more luminous glow than an overt frost when applied as a blush. The color payoff is crazily intense–a little goes a very long way–but the dense, creamy consistency plays well with a stippling brush so that it isn’t difficult to adjust the amount of product. It has an almost gel-cream-powder feeling, so it’s not quite like a powder, but it’s not a cream product either. From that standpoint, I find it easier to use than NARS Taj Mahal, which is very similar and just as intense. On me, this shade lasted for nine hours before fading slightly.

Beautiful! I’d love to see a round up of the ones you’ve also shown as blush. Seeing them together would be a handy way to identify them! 🙂

Oh, that would be delightful! Fantastic, thanks!

Question, sorry: I’ve been thinking of finding Sleek blushes… Can you please comment on the quality with comparisons? Are they acne givers? Such inexpensive pigmented blushes in colors that closely dupe NARS… As well, ELF blush. NYX seem more close to MAC.. I have blush addiction but just cannot spend the high amount for how little I use! I looked but I still can’t find online USA retailers for Sleek. Any help?

Specifics:
NARS: Taj Mahal, Exhibit A (this MUFE closest to taj I’ve seen. A remarkable feat! But people swear NYX Sun something or Apricot, or using their eyeshadows… Others swear some sleek are close enough but idk! I love what I saw!! But ever seller is from the UK. On eBay, USA sellers charge A LOT.
MAC: Devil, Apple Red, Modern Mandarin, Full of Joy.

Cheers!

I have liked the Sleek blushes I have tried, but I’ll note that I do not consider my skin acne-prone any more (and any breakouts I have seem more stress or hormone-related, than product!).

I’ve always bought Sleek through Amazon, which is really a third-party seller who ships from the UK. I don’t think there are any official US retailers for it. Sleek does ship directly to US, but some items are restricted.

So beautiful. I’m having so much fun with the Artist Shadows. They’re all just so appealing and lovely that you can’t help but want the full collection. Definitely the most fun I’ve had with eye shadows in a long time. Maybe ever. I love the ethereal glow this imparts! Have only used it on my eyes so far but will definitely have to give it a go as a blush.

Yes! Couldn’t resist, of course hehe. Having a bit of a hard time picking out which brushes to use (my fan didn’t pick up the color the way I wanted, standard blush brushes pick up too much, etc but it’s not so hard. Just haven’t found my ideal yet for use with them). So far I’ve used ME-512, ME-122, and D-868 from the Naturals as highlighters; M-548 and M-636 as contours; S-852 and I-922 as blushers.

This was next on my list and I’ve always lusted after Taj Mahal but never quite came to picking it despite my oversized NARS blush collection. So I’m very pleased at how lovely it looks on you and excited to play.

A sales associate at Sephora showed this to me recently but she billed it as eye shadow. Are these new MUFE shadows like the UD Electric Palette, TECHNICALLY not okayed for eye use by the FDA but okay elsewhere or is this really just a blush?

What a happy, lovely colour! It makes a fantastic blush, I wonder if I could use it as one too… I think I could buy this just to look at it, I really love the colour.

I love these! So beautiful they make wearing other shadows so much tougher.
I got the 30 year palette…and have used these colors labeled as blush both as blush and shadows and their beautiful! Even the purple looked pretty.
I know you’re super busy….but I will be so thrilled to see your roundup when you get to it. But, how do you decide personal favorites or recommendations when they’re all so pretty!

Christine Avatar

Yes, of course! Can’t exactly test for two hours, remove, and re-apply (defeats the purpose of testing, lol!). I wear two different eyes, two different blushes – I really don’t care. Most places I go, I frequent enough that people know what I do 🙂 I just went to dinner with each eye being different along with two different blushes.

That is just the prettiest shade of orange I’ve ever seen. I am not even usually a fan of orange. But this is definitely going on my list of MUFE shadows to buy.

xamyx Avatar

I can’t wear orange, *especially* on cheeks/lips, but this one is sooo pretty! I love the finish/glow-it gives a little something extra.

Well, isn’t this just ridiculously beautiful? In the pan, on your arm, on your face – it’s a win-win-win! 😀 Seriously, the way this has that golden sheen to it, that blends out to make a gorgeous illuminating blush… it makes me forget my usual reservations about orange, and start to think along those ‘wait, blue goes with orange, and I have blue undertones and blue eyes, therefore THIS MUST BE MINE! lines, LOL!

This was my first purchase of the artist eyeshadows and I loved it! Though I used it as an eyeshadow not as a blush, I was confused when in the actual package says it was a blush; but who doesn’t uses makeup for multitasking, right? I’m hooked and want all of the collection, I really wanted the 30 eyeshadow pallete but it sold out so quick when I was going to buy it it was out at sephora I’m on the waiting list at the Makeupforever in New York.
