Make Up For Ever ME122 Snow Artist Shadow
Make Up For Ever ME122 Snow Artist Shadow ($21.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a frosted, metallic bright white with neutral-to-cool undertones. It had good color payoff with a creamy, buttery texture, but it didn’t go on smoothly as I anticipated. It’s almost too metallic, I think, so it just doesn’t have that perfectly even coverage that would be ideal. It wears for eight and a half hours, and it is blendable on the skin. This type of color is really not particularly unique (and understandable; every brand wants to have one of their own), but there are a lot of very close options: See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Make Up For Ever ME108 Steel Artist Shadow ($21.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a medium-dark gray with a silvered, metallic sheen. This was a surprisingly under-pigmented shade, as many of the metallic finishes have been off-the-charts pigmentation. It was semi-opaque but not as rich or as opaque as other shades. The texture felt creamy and almost wet in the pan, and it went on as a smooth layer. It lasted for eight hours before fading. NARS Jardin Perdu (Left) (LE, $24.00) is more shimmery. Sleek MakeUP Acid #11 (P, $9.99) is lighter. Kat Von D Santeria (LE) is darker. NARS Bad Behaviour (LE, $24.00) is warmer. Tarina Tarantino Diamond Dusk #3 (LE) is cooler-toned. bareMinerals Abracadabra (LE) is similar. Fyrinnae Frostbytes (P, $6.80) is lighter. Kat Von D Piaf (LE) is lighter. MAC Diesel (LE, $15.00) is darker. Urban Decay S&M (P, $18.00) is lighter. MAC Tundra (LE) is a cream product. MAC Evening Grey (LE, $19.50) is lighter. Estee Lauder Cyber Silver (LE, $24.00) is more metallic. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Make Up For Ever M536 Milk Tea Artist Shadow ($21.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a light-medium brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. It is also in the Artist Palette. Unfortunately for swatching purposes, it’s about a shade darker than my natural skin tone, but it is quite pigmented and almost fully covers the skin underneath it. The texture is soft, finely-milled, and smooth without being powdery. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours. Urban Decay Downfall (LE, $18.00) is darker. Tarte View from the Taupe (LE) is darker. Laura Mercier Café au Lait (P, $23.00) is darker. Bobbi Brown Frappe (LE, $22.00) is similar. NARS Yamal (LE, $24.00) is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Make Up For Ever M100 Black Artist Shadow ($21.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark black with subtle warm undertones and a matte finish. It’s a shade that has a lot of pigmentation, but the softer, silkier texture is also a little powdery, so not all of the powder adheres to the skin. It is really intense over a primer, and over bare skin, it’s pretty good in regards to coverage but the color itself is just not as deep/dark. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me. As a more basic shade, there are plenty of similar shades, past and present. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Make Up For Ever M532 Sugar Coated Candy Artist Shadow ($21.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a light beige with a matte finish. It seems to have good color payoff, but the texture is very finely-milled and silky that it is also excessively powdery, so it doesn’t stick to the skin well on its own. It is better over a primer, but it can still be dusty to work with. Even my softer, feathery brushes kick-up a lot of excess powder when I try to use this shade. On the eye, it lasts for seven hours before creasing. bareMinerals Promise (P) is slightly pinker. bareMinerals Pure (LE) is lighter. Kat Von D South (LE) is similar. Too Faced Egg Nog (LE, $16.00) is lighter. Too Faced Snow Angel (LE, $16.00) is lighter. theBalm B1 (LE, $16.00) is similar. LORAC Cream (P) is slightly pinker. Too Faced Dainty (LE, $16.00) is pinker. MAC Bisque (DC, $15.00) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

I want Milk Tea and Sugar Coated Candy!
Milk Tea is a very versatile shade!
I like the Black eye shadow!
Yay!
I don’t think I’ll be getting any of these, but this is a gorgeous look!
Thank you!
Black is a really nice black! I’m almost out of MAC Carbon. I might get this MUFE Black next.
Props on finishing an eyeshadow!
These are the reformulated MUFE shades, correct?
The black I bought about a year was awful. Pigmented yes, but I used it to set my lower waterline liner and I had the worst raccoon eyes of my life. Terrible fall out.
Yes, this is the new formula!
Your reviews of these have been so positive, that i might have to succumb to the artist’s palette, which is restocked @ Sephora! Maybe I ought to check the dupes for milk tea, which is a lovely neutral, but hardly unique….
Milk Tea is nice, but it’s definitely possible you have a dupe!
These are shades that I tend to rarely wear, so at least that helps to narrow down the number of shades I want!
Phew 🙂
Steal is a very nice shade!
It is a nice shade of gray that isn’t too silver!
I like Milk Tea and Sugar Coated Candy. How would you say Milk Tea compares to Salted Caramel from TF’s Chocolate Bar? I’m thinking Salted Caramel is darker and maybe warmer? Thanks.
Yep, definitely darker and a lot warmer. More orange-y!
I love Salted Caramel. Milk Tea looks like a versatile shade as well, though.
Not crazy about these shades (milk tea’s nice but i have enough neutrals in my makeup collection) but that look you made is goregousssss~
It’s funny how these all ended up to be more basic shades (they just seemed to work together!).
Milk Tea looks like a great transition shade
Agreed!
That steel colour is really beautiful and so versatile – you could wear it with everything. I love this colour!
PS I love your eye look with this Christine. It is something that I would wear.
Thank you, Genevieve! xo
These are all great basic kind of colors – easy to incorporate!
I love your ‘black and while film Christine’ eye! 😀
Milk Tea is one of the most appropriately named shades I have seen in a while, LOL! It makes it that much more interesting to me, actually, as matte pale warm brown shades aren’t usually on my radar.
Milk Tea is a really nice, versatile basic!
Ahhh! I’m crazy about these colours!! Love the smokey look that you did with the set!
Thanks, Stephanie!
Is Milk Tea comparable to MAC’s Soft Brown?
Ooh, definitely not! Soft Brown is a lot darker and warmer!
wow all shades are lovely
They have some really nice shades!
