MAC x Richard Quinn Collection Swatches
is a new, limited edition collection that included a pastel-hued eyeshadow palette, powder highlighter, six lipsticks (two were repromotes), blush duo, and four eyeliners.
I haven’t had great luck the eyeliner formula, so I gave it a skip on purchasing for now, and the blush duo looked so, so similar to just about every split-pan powder blush MAC has released over the years that almost always performs poorly.
Because I am an absolute sucker for these types of warmer fuchsias, of course I’m LOVING Vamp-Tastic! Probably have dupes galore, though.
The EDSF is something that I would use to death. As in, literally panning it despite its beautiful embossing!
And dang! I wish that I could pull off shades like Mega Magenta without looking like my skin is greenish. I can go cool-toned with eye makeup, even blush if applied with a light hand, but not blue-pink lipstick
Looking this just makes me smile! A classic, fun Spring collection.
I think that you are quite prudent Christine on skipping the products that have performed very poorly in the past from this (dare I say) underwhelming MAC collection. Considering the number of excellent pastel eye palettes from a variety of brands, this one doesn’t seem to hit any high spots.
This is a really lovely and well-put-together collection. I do not have room in my stash for any of it, but it definitely gives me some fuel to “dupe the vibes.”
I’m loving Vamp-Tastic and Mega Magenta! I probably have dupes for both, though.
That eye palette looks pretty pathetic. What a shame, considering Quinn’s looks are usually so vibrant and intense. The packaging patterns seem rather tame, too. If there were more pattern variety and some major clashing going on, I would have been drooling.
I agree that the eyeshadows are uninspiring, but I think the packaging on the products is gorgeous in real life. A nice clash between the floral exterior and the polka dots on the inside – in my opinion anyway! It’s very much to my taste. No regrets about the two products that I bought.
I’ve ordered the highlighter and the salmon-coloured lipstick. 100% sucked in by that packaging, and not for the first time.
Update: I received my order. yesterday. I haven’t tested the products yet, but the packaging is indeed gorgeous, especially for the highlighter. The outside is a satin fabric and the inside is a good quality hard plastic lacquer. It’s so gorgeous I can hardly bring myself to even use it. I’ll try out the lipstick today (I love the packaging for that as well, but am less afraid of making it dirty.)
