It should be, as it is the same price and description as MAC’s other pre-made 15-pan palettes (http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/14382/28063/New-Collections/Eyes-on-MAC/Eye-Shadow-x-15/Eye-Shadow-x-15-Cool-Neutral/index.tmpl), which contain 0.68 oz. (Veluxe Pearls are 0.04 oz. and other MAC finishes are 0.05 oz.). They are the same size as a regular 15-pan palette, just with glued-in pans.

Sarah Kristine Avatar

Are you planning to review it? Seeing as sometimes eyeshadows in LE palettes aren’t the same quality as the permanent ones…

Carrie Avatar

If the palette were truly “well-edited” then Carbon would not be in there.

Outside of that, this looks like their take on Naked 3, with a lot of rosier colors. Looks pretty warm leaning too. Not much to see here, overall!

Sarah Avatar

WHOA. This is nearly identical to the MAC 15-pan palette that I’ve carried around all these years! Take out Vapour, All That Glitters and Beauty Marked and add Vanilla, Shroom and Star Violet!

That said, obviously I won’t be buying it, but this is actually an awesome, versatile palette!

Jane Avatar

Christine, do you perhaps have any information on whether this will be released outside the US at all, maybe through a foreign department store? Would love to pick this up but I’m in the UK and Nordstrom won’t ship beauty products abroad. Thanks!

ok so I just bought this! I’m trying to validate my purchase. .so help me out here! believe it or not, I don’t own any MAC eyeshadows, neutrals are my favorite, and I work really hard full time and to a mama of 4 kids under 4! I was thinking of the other x15 warm palette, but there are just way too many light shades that I would never wear. This is full of shades I would always wear, plus colors to fill my eye brows. ok have I sold myself?

Sarah Avatar

You’re in good hands with this one- it’s a steal at 85 bucks. Even if there’s two or three shades you don’t love (Carbon, I’m looking at you), it’s still cheaper than buying them separately!

xamyx Avatar

I think this is a brilliant option! I have all but 4 of these shades, and have plans to buy them in the near future, but I wish this were available 5 years ago, when I first looked into MAC. It can be a bit overwhelming at a counter, and online images can be hit/miss, but since these are all permanent & best-sellers”, it’s easy to look up online swatches (particularly Christine’s!) to get a feel for what the palette will look like IRL.

Logan Avatar

I think your purchase is so justified! I’m actually annoyed about this palette because I built my own awhile ago with 9/15 of these shades and 6 others, and that was $160! This is a STEAL at $85!!!

Dani Avatar

Thank you so much you guys! you have made me feel much more validated. haha. I’m so sorry that putting together the custom palettes are do expensive! I’m thankful that Nordstrom chose these colors!…Carbon maybe the only one in don’t really use 😉

xamyx Avatar

Carbon is a bit finicky, and applies best (in my experience) over another shadow. It isn’t the most intense black shadow, but I don’t always need something intense. Also, I’ve had the best luck using it with the Real Techniques Shading Brush!

Julie Avatar

Hi! Since you have this palette, can you tell me if you are able to pop the shadows out like the pro palettes they sell? I don’t have any mac colors either but I was considering this. Thanks!! 🙂

Rachel R. Avatar

It’s a really great deal (less than $6 a pan), and darn it girl: four kids under 4! You are super-mom and deserve this and much, much more. I have 2 special needs kids, and all the therapists have taught me: If mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy. Buy a little happiness for $85. Enjoy!

Dani Avatar

aw thank u Rachel! My oldest is autistic, so I know how hard it can be there. She is 3.5, then I have a 2yr old, and 8 month old twins. .a boy and a girl. my birth control twins! I work full time nights and my husband works full time days. we are exhausted! I’m so excited to get this!

Nicole Avatar

I wish they would have done this a long time ago and make it permanent. I am very interested in a review of this. but given, I have more than my fair share of neutrals, I doubt dropping $85 on this in a rush will be high on my priority list. I don’t have many mac shadows, so, if I get them I will get them as singles per review. But, this would be fantastic for someone new to makeup.I still have trouble picking my own shades!

Logan Avatar

I was thinking that this is the perfect palette, but then I read the shade names and realized that my build-your-own palette includes 9/15 of these. Probably why I liked it so much!

xamyx Avatar

I’m going to skip this one, as I have 11/15 of these shades, and the ones I don’t have are on my “list” for a near-future order, but I would love to see MAC do more of these in permanent shades. Even better, do one with popular DC’d shades… I know having a pre-made palette of permanent shades is redundant for long-time consumers, but this is a genius way of reaching out to a new market, and far better than releasing non-stop, sub-par products. It’s also a nice way for current consumers who have several shades already in one place, especially if those are the ones they’ll eventually need to replace, anyway!

Katherine T. Avatar

I agree. I only have 1 MAC shadow, and if I didn’t already have so many other neutral palettes, I would grab this in a heartbeat. As a newbie to MAC, better a palette of tried-and- true colors, then a bunch of new LE collections with subpar products.

Laura_Lou Avatar

Is this only going to be available in Nordstrom? No chance of us Brits getting it? I’d love this and it’s so much cheaper than making the palette myself. It would cost £116.50 to make a 15 pan MAC palette in the UK!!

Nancy T Avatar

This looks like great offering for those just beginning to get their toes wet with either MAC or neutral palettes! Being that I already own 6 out of the 15 here, as well as owning dupes for the rest of the shades across my Lorac palettes, I won’t be getting this one. But I DO like it though, except for Carbon and Omega because they seem to show up in EVERYTHING.

Krista Avatar

I had to order this when I saw it. Sooooo good! I own 4 of the shades already but they’re staples like wedge and satin taupe. If the quality is different from their singles, I will not hesitate to swap this one or return it 🙂

Joanna Avatar

Pop out Carbon, pop in Typographic (which actually works better as a “neutral” as it’s a softer grey black.)

And it’s just better.

Heather F. Avatar

This looks really nice, especially because so many of these shades are ones I’ve been wanting (presuming the quality of these shadows is the same as the singles). I just have to keep reminding myself that I really don’t need another warm-toned neutrals palette…

BonnieBBon Avatar

Wow a few palettes came out sans Carbon and gave me hope. But there it is again. I feel like Bill Murray in Caddyshack and Carbon is my gopher to bear or bare. What do I know, I broke a tooth today and the dentist gave me wacky pills lol weeeeeeeee I’m gonna regret this tomorrow. 😉

Badgerpaws Avatar

Are you going to review the 9-pans on MAC’s website???

Aaaand, because I got the Cinderella palette, I already have Omega, Saddle, and Satin Taupe. The Naked 3’s Blackheart is a better version of Beautymarked… but.. I’ve been wanting Embark, Woodwinked, Mulch, All That Glitters, Ricepaper, and Honey Lust and Amber Lights. Brun and Wedge don’t really do anything for me. Carbon is a fail, from what I understand.

Seven of the shadows, for 85 dollars (in the pan) is definitely not bad. It’s about the same amount of cash if I bought another 15 pan palette and put in the seven that I want. If I hadn’t have gotten the Cinderella palette, this would definitely be worth it.

I dunno. I think I’ll pass on this… but I’m looking at the burgundy 9-pan on MAC’s site…

Joy Avatar

I’m loving my Burgundy x 9 palette! Keep in mind that the eyeshadows in the x 9 palette are not full size tho. Quarry is kind of chalky and not as buttery as the other shades, and Honey Lust leaves a bit of glittery fallout. Otherwise, the rest of the palette is really beautiful!!!

Chaia Avatar

Will you be reviewing this, Christine? I think I like this better than the warm neutrals, even, but I’m wondering if they sacrificed quality for these pre-made palettes.

Marissa Avatar

This palette may have blown up my plans! I was planning on getting the MAC warm neutrals palette this summer after so much patience. Now I see limited edition and Nordstrom only and am freaking out. I will be heading to Nordstrom tomorrow to test this out and compare the two. I only have 2 of these eye shadows: Satin Taupe and Woodwinked and they are among my most used eye shadows. But there is overlap here between the Warm Neutrals palette that it would be hard to justify getting both. But I was already planning on getting Omega as a single. UGH.

Daleen Avatar

When I saw this posted, I immediately ordered it and I’m so pleased! It’s beautiful but none of the shadows are labeled so the ones I might want to get individually, or if I’m following a tutorial that uses one of these specific colors, I don’t know which one it is! Are the order in which the eye shadows are listed in the same order in the actual palette? I own All That Glitters and Mulch separately so I’ve matched them up with the ones in the palette but if I got it right, then the colors are not in the right order.

Daleen Avatar

Okay, so, I actually took the time out to figure this out because it was bothering me so much! So, if you were going from left to right, top to bottom (like you were reading a book) the palette goes as follows:
Vapour, Honey Lust, All That Glitters, Saddle, Mulch
Rice Paper, Amber Lights, Woodwinked, Wedge, Brun
Omega, Satin Taupe, Embark, Beauty Marked, Carbon

Leah Avatar

I just got this palette and I thought the shades weren’t labeled at first but it turns out they are– the sticker on the back lists all the shade names. You just have to read it carefully to notice.

For anyone that doesn’t have it the way the shades line up in the palette is:

(first row, L to R) Vapour, Honey Lust, All That Glitters, Saddle, and Mulch
(2nd row, L to R) Ricepaper, Amber Lights, Woodwinked, Wedge, and Brun
(3rd row, L to R) Omega, Satin Taupe, Embark, Beauty Marked, and Carbon

Paper Doll Avatar

Could you let us know if the quality of the shadows in the palette is the same as the singles you own? I don’t have any MAC shadows, & I want to know if I would be better off slowly builing my own palettes, or investing in this LE or one of the other “15” collections. Thank you!

tabassum Avatar

thanks a lot for the breakdown…I don’t own any MAC eyeshadows and I’m really interested, however, someone said in an earlier post that this is a lot like the UD Naked1, what do yoy think? I. have the N1, how similar are they?
