This looks amazing! I am medium skin tone, and this will work with my skintone. I hope I will be able to grab one, there will be lots of hype over this product.

Wow, really striking photography for this promo — the faux staging really matches the theme of “the transformative power of beauty.” I love the color of the lipstick too, and I’m not averse to Cremesheens. I look forward to seeing the worn pictures 🙂

Interesting that it’s not a “VIVA Glam” lipstick but goes to support the AIDS fund “Transgender Initiative.” I wonder how much of it will go towards the fund, what sort of work the fund does, and if this will be a big ongoing campaign on the part of MAC. I’m nothing but pleased for all this recent attention and action related to transgender issues.

Lacey Avatar

I appreciate that it’s a somewhat universal shade, more in line with older VG staples. It’s more likely to sell well, not just because of the endorsement, but also because it’s a very wearable shade.

BonnieBBon Avatar

My thoughts exactly! Well said.
Btw, I meant to tell you in the photo you had up before this one your highlight was STUNNING! The whole look was soft and beautiful 🙂

Stacy Avatar

I’ve never felt compelled to own a MAC lipstick before this one. But this one, I’ll buy two of – one for me, and one for my child who identifies as gender-fluid.

Kenna Avatar

This color is right up my alley. And of course, I also love the fact that all of the proceeds go to charity, it’s really wonderful that MAC is expanding their AIDS fund. I wish more company’s did the same thing!

Caitlyn looks stunning in that pic, definitely want to check out the lipstick, and glad 100% of sales is going to support a good cause. Despite their hit-or-miss products and collections, I do admire MAC for being so inclusive, from their wide range of colors/shades to suit many different skintones, to their Viva Glam lipsticks that support AIDS research, and now transgender issues.

From the interview linked above:
“How did you arrive at this particular colour? Is it something that you wear every day, for evening or both?
“I wanted a lipstick that would be universal, suited to more people, and was an everyday lipstick, not just a high-glam, once-in-a-while kind of lipstick. I like a little colour on my lips, not a lot during the day. And this rosy nude is the colour I’ve gone to. To be honest, I want people to use it every day so they have to buy more. I want to raise a lot of money. It’s very simple.”

I just want to thank everyone here for being so beautiful and kind. Comments in other places have not been so charitable…in fact, downright nasty about the cause and/or spokesperson. Regardless what people may think about Caitlyn, I think the cause is fantastic. The money goes 100% to it and 0% to her. Plus, I find the shade really pretty!

Celia Avatar

Agreed! Lovely to see the comments here. So refreshing! And I hope that Caitlyn is just the beginning and MAC adds more and more trans voices to this new version of their charitable funding. MAC has done a lot by way of diverse gender representation and I hope this means increased opportunity for trans* spokespeople from all sorts of backgrounds.

TravelingBlush Avatar

I have to agree with you. I’ve stopped looking at the MAC instagram because it’s just full of animal rights rants. I mean, there is a time and place for that, but if for EVERY post all you see is this rant, regardless of what is being announced, it’s just downright nasty.

Terry Avatar

Allie I totally agree. Although I am by no means a fan of her family or what they stand for, this is a worthy cause and I think Her heart is in the right place to do good despite wealth and fame Besides Its a beautiful color! I have bought products in the past to support a cause only not to be able to use them This is something for everyone.

Carmen Avatar

I’m definitely interested in this limited edition entry from M.A.C. Not only is the lipstick a beautiful shade, but I being a trans-woman would completely be open to contributing toward a community I am apart of. Kudos to M.A.C for taking this opportunity to put Caitlyn in the spotlight in the world of beauty :).

Nicole Avatar

I totally applaud MAC for taking this on. I’m sure there will be some backlash. It will be interesting to see if this campaign ad gets any time in the mall where I live. The lipstick shade looks nice. I’m all for freedom of who you are and I absolutely support the Viva Glam initiative. I hope the lipstick does well.

Staci Avatar

I find it interesting that when Kendall gets an Estee Lauder contract there was emense backlash. Most people, myself included, had negative feelings. Many chose to stop supporting EL because they didn’t approve of Kendall’s family. Yet when Caitlin gets a cosmetic endorsement, there’s positive feedback. Are they not part of the same family? Does the main reason people disapproved of the first not still apply to the latter? What is the difference here?

Luana P. Avatar

Yes, that’s the point. Depravity in both cases, but we can not say that about her (him!), because political correctness has its own inquisitorial bonfire and a very distant moral of the foundations of America.

Helene Avatar

I just hope I’ll be able to grab at least one of these lipsticks. I have a feeling it can very well be a great every day colour and it’s for such a good cause.
I love the promo photo, very old Hollywood star and Caitlyn looks amazing. The interview was a good read.
I sometimes just get bored by MAC and all the LE’s they put out every year, but then there are VG and now this, and it makes me love MAC all over again.

Jessica Avatar

I support the transgender cause–but not Caitlyn. I don’t think she’s a good person, at all…. to put it lightly. I wish there was a different spokesperson for this cause!!! I can’t see myself buying anything of Caitlyn Jenner’s unfortunately.

TravelingBlush Avatar

I have not really followed the C. Jenner brouhaha, but this is a good cause, and seems a sensible product. Although, the term ‘nude’ can be interpreted in so many ways, would have to see in person if this is a lippie for me. But kudos to MAC and hope this raises a lot of money.

Cathy Avatar

Wow, Caitlyn really does look stunning in the promo pic! I generally don’t love the Cremesheen formula, but the shade looks really pretty and of course, it’s a wonderful cause so I’ll definitely pick one up 🙂 Way to go, MAC!

MissJae1908 Avatar

I wasn’t going to get this lipstick, but when I found out that all the proceeds go to benefit the M•A•C AIDS Fund Transgender Initiative, I might change my mind.

Kristin Ann Avatar

This shade looks awesome! I ordered 2. For me it’s mainly a lot about the actual product–I love MLBB/nude so it will be gr8 I’m sure. And Caitlyn/SLGBT issues are the icing on my cupcake. She’s beautiful & generous of her celeb status/kind of her to lend her famous self to a very good worthy initiative/cause to support. I’m bummed there is no matching Lipglass (2 tidbits of info I gleaned off the phone operator: no Lipglass & if u want a matching lipliner they said Beet was a good match…hth!!). MAC is my #1 fave MU line, I’m happy to support this worthy cause n hey I’m sure Imma love this lipstick. I would’ve gotten 5 if I could afford it LOL I’m so glad she didn’t come out w some haute couture print ad color that was wild/unflattering/too hard or difficult to wear. Smart person to come up w MLBB coz it will sell more & any individual could wear it about anywhere from Mass to a rave (lol). I had to get it yesterday, it’s sup to be here Monday yay! I kno MAC has a lot of LE items which gets annoying how can any1 keep up w it but MAC has always been edgier but it doesn’t matter what color u like from MLBB to goth vamp there is something for ev1. I wish Steven Joseph would do a collab! I need to buy Beet lipliner but I’m broke atm. Caitlyn reaps no monetary benefits off this collab–it’s all for profiting the SLGBT, I can’t believe in this day & age ppl like discriminate, good for Caitlyn that she’s more famous than the reviled Kim Davis’ 15 seconds of fame. But I’m here for the lipstick 🙂 IJS

Heather Avatar

Definitely want to pick this up – it’s neutral “enough” for the office but with more depth than a lot of nude and neutral shades; I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it. And it’s great of Caitlyn and MAC to be helping the charity! Like the name too – speaks to Caitlyn’s courage and hopefully will inspire others to be themselves and pursue their dreams!
