Oh my gosh. These are beautiful! The colours are amazing- I hope they won’t follow the current MAC trend of “pretty in the pan but useless on the face”. The illustrations remind me of when I was a child and borrowed books from the library about fashion design. I just love the whole look.

meghan Avatar

The illustrations are a little too Duran Duran for my tastes but some of the colors look/sound really nice! I’ll wait to see swatches though, since MAC palettes are hit or miss.

Jax Avatar

Yes, this!
I like the colours in some of the pallets but it will depend on if MAC fubar the quality. But really not a fan of the artwork at all. I love the idea, just not the execution.
Conflicted!

Désanne Avatar

Oooh i’am so happy that there’s a palette with Moxie in it! I don’t own Candy Yum Yum and Violetta yet so it’s great i can buy them all in one palet. I hope this collection comes out in Belgium..

Kristina Avatar

This collection is everything MAC is supposed to be FASHION and BEAUTY for all!! I just hope they produce enough, I’m too old now to be stalking MAC counters throughout the tri-city area just for a palette. Know what I mean?

There was a few good reasons why I was no longer a MAC customer and that was one of them.

rachel Avatar

Pretty! I have to get at least one item from their limited edition sets…maybe a lip palette. Although I am a sucker for corals, so that face palette is tempting as well!

Mariella Avatar

Very happy to see Carbonized repromoted. I love that shadow and I’m happy I have a full size of it. What’s with yet another outing of Carbon, though (it was just in a recent eye kit and it seems that MAC never tires of trying to foist that less than stellar shadow on all of us). My less than thrilling experiences with some of MAC’s special releases like these makes them items I’ll look at and admire but probably not purchase.

I was so excited about Moxie – until I found out it was in a palette; I still don’t know how I feel about it. Palettes may be easier (faster) to go through though, which will be good for me!

Surprisingly feeling a little lukewarm about the design and promo photo; the women are gorgeous though!

PoetrysTruth Avatar

Man! I thought the 3 pan were shadows…I don’t do lip products that have to be applied with a brush. Just not worth the hassle for me.

I’ll pass on this collection, haven’t bought anything from MAC in a long while.

chelsea Avatar

The fuchsia lip palette and the teal and violet eye palettes look gorgeous; but why is Carbon in, yet another, palette?! C’mon MAC!

Angela Avatar

Finally a collection by Mac that really has me going… hope the swatches are just as awesome as the packaging and *wearable!* colors.

Meagan Avatar

Oh gosh. I want the Lip palette in red but I already have MAC Red and Scarlet Ibis is so similar to Lady Danger, which I also have. Let’s be honest, I’ll probably end up buying this anyway because I’m addicted to red lip colors and having all 3 in a palette seems so convenient.

Cath Avatar

Wow! I love the bronze palette for the eyes, the red one for the lips and the coral palette for the face. If those sucks, I think I am gonna cry. Haven’t been excited for a MAC collection for AGES!

Alicia Avatar

I am in love with the red lip palette. I missed out on getting Scarlet Ibis and Deeply Adored when they came out. I hope I can get my hands on it when it comes out. Loving the 80’s vibe in the illustrations. Can wait to see your reviews Christine, and hopefully they won’t be a disappointment!

Erica Avatar

I’m showing my age – nothing is exciting me except the coral blush set Everything else has been done. Sidebar – is that the Divine Ms. Pat Cleveland in the promo shot (purple dress)? If not, the model is a dead ringer for Diva Pat. Ms. Cleveland is one of the model/trailblazers who paved the way for other Black models in the 70’s.

18thCenturyFox Avatar

The packaging ends any lemming right there. Plus I am just not a MAC palette girl. I’d actually rather get a Nagel illustration then these images.

Gina Avatar

I was SO excited reading this, especially for the lipstick sets. 3 lipsticks for less than $30?! But then I scrolled down, and saw that they’re in palettes. What a letdown.

Ashley Avatar

Wow, what vibrant colours and not to mention the chic packaging. I can see myself buying the fushia lip pallette and the violet. I guess the 80s are back 😉

Maureen Avatar

What a great collection for the fashionista! (Hope the product matches the packaging.) Wonderful to see supermodels Marisa Berenson, Jerry Hall and Pat Cleveland, again. And such a nice tribute to the legendary Lopez (who died in 1987).

Rusty Avatar

Weird enough, the colours all seem rather mundane to me. I, on the other hand, got attracted to the tote bag so much more! An absolute art, I must say. Interesting packaging of the other products as well, have never seen MAC sport such novel packaging with sliders.

Kortni Avatar

I’ve never had the desire to purchase a lip palette before, but Deeply Adored is one of my HG Reds. I may have to look into that!

Carrie Avatar

The palettes are pretty, but seem expensive for the quantity you’re getting. I’ll wait for the reviews because if the quality is there (a big if) there are one or two I’d like to pick up.

Alicia Avatar

I am so bummed Moxie is in a palette for this collection 🙁 I have been dying for this lipstick to come out again and I’m super bummed it’s in a palette.

coco Avatar

anytime i see Mac palettes….i cringe. ..I dont really like the illustrations/packaging either….meh. just saved myself some $$$

Leslie-Marie Avatar

I love everything MAC and have been a loyal customer…but: I’ve never purchased a MAC palette (except Rock It only for the pink metallic sparkle packaging long ago) and I never will. The quality always gets lost in translation no matter what product it is and I just find them not as convienant. This collection would have rocked as individual lipsticks, shadows and face makeup! Saving my money for more Fall collections to come!

Jelly Avatar

OMG! I love this collection! It’s all about the fashion and the art, what a great idea. This is all that MAC is color and electricity, bright, trendy. Super excited for it. Antonio was such a great illustrator, you should read all about him.

Lark Avatar

Ladies? The drawings are very Late Seventies. The dresses and shoes are Halston. Or made up in his style. The make up is very Studio 54. Yeah, I was there, riding my dinosaur around… Nothing Duran Duran here.

Those eye pallets are stunning! Also very 1978 to 1982. I want all if the quality is good. This is GlamourPuss.

Alice Avatar

Wow, these are brilliant, I will defiantly be picking up the face palette in coral although my wallet will hate me for it! Are these released on the same date for Canada since I haven’t gotten any emails from Mac about it?

candleashes Avatar

Too soon. 80’s still feel tacky. The illustrations are a great representation of their time and Antonio Lopez’s work is great in general, but this has a museum feeling to me, not something current and fresh.
Still might pick up a few things, depending on how they swatch.

justine Avatar

purchased the candy yum yum/moxie/violetta lip pallet before realizing there was artwork on the packaging. Pleasantly surprised. (I don’t mind the 80’s feel, since its in honor of a fashion illustrator’s signature style). I prefer a lip palette to single lipsticks since I never wear just one color. SO GLAD they put these three together. Going straight into my purse.
