MAC Uninvited Nail Lacquer ($17.50 for 0.34 fl. oz.) is described as a “neutral nude shade with slight pearl.” It’s a light, peachy-beige with warm undertones and soft gold pearl. MAC Thimbleweed (LE, $16.00) is darker, more opaque. Cult Nails Evolution (LE, $12.00) is less shimmery. Zoya Taylor (P, $9.00) is opaque. Zoya Chantal (P, $9.00) is opaque, yellower. Dior Blossom (132) (LE, $24.00) is warmer. MAC Sandpiper (LE, $16.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Hangin’ Loose (LE, $16.00) is slightly darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

I wish MAC included “sheer” in their description for this particular shade, as it is semi-opaque after two coats with noticeable translucency throughout the nail as well as visible nail line. It seems like it’s possible that this was intentional, but with some of their other sheer polishes, they have called it out in the description (and here, they didn’t). The application was challenging, as it was streaky and didn’t apply evenly. The consistency didn’t seem too thick or too thin, but it was still problematic to apply. This shade is from MAC x Maleficent but is still available. I typically get seven days of wear out of MAC’s formula, but very little chips on me, so be sure to take that with several grains of salt!

The Maleficent collection has left a lot to be desired. Seeing this particular shade, i think they should have called it the Angeline Jolie collection instead. The title of Maleficent keeps reminding me of something dark and bewitching, which isn’t the case at all.
And hey, could you possibly do a reswatching of Mac’s purple eyeshadows for whenever the next swatch saturday is? Or any other swatch saturday that isn’t too far from now. Thanks!

Sadly, I think this shade has earned a ‘feh’ from me. Now, I acknowledge full bias when it comes to not really liking ‘nude’ polishes, but this collection… 🙁 ‘Maleficent’ makes you think of something so witchy and cool – almost what MAC itself used to make one think of back in the day (I’m talking closer to the late ’90s, LOL). You expect more things in the line of purple, maybe acid green, as well as black, white and red. I guess we’ll never know how much influence Disney itself had over the collection, but it’s equally possible that someone at MAC thought that this collection’s colour scheme was perfect (?!)

Hey I like it! I usually can’t polish my nails bc of work, but I just got this as a gift (maybe why I love it!) but it’s not that bad…. I didn’t buy anything from the collection myself tho
