MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow Duos: New for 2011

MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Eyeshadow Duos ($19.50 for 0.07 oz.) sees a limited edition release of six new duos: This & That (frost beige rose/satin light beige), Mix & Switch (frosty dirty copper/satin beige), Sage & Wisdom (frost light green/satin deep green), Heaven & Earth (frost deep teal/satin black), Thunder & Rain (frost blue purple/satin grey), and Pretty & Prim (frost rosy burgundy/satin yellow pink).
I’ll have full reviews up later this afternoon, but for now, here are a few group photos and swatches! 🙂
According to MAC, the mineralize eyeshadow duos will be available everywhere for 12 months, and then permanent only at freestanding/PRO stores. Available May 19th in North America in-store, June 2011 for International.

i am loving Sage & Wisdom!! its funny that i don’t own any darker green eyeshadows.. but i’ll wait to see if theres any dupes, thanks temptalia!!!

The only problem with mineralize eyeshadows though (I only have 2), is that the clear top part keeps popping out, on both. Does this happen to anyone else?!
Ugh, this happens to me too. I only have the Venomous Villains mineralized shadows and couldn’t return them because they were already sold out. So boo, I’m stuck with non-functioning lids. 🙁
Mine does that too sometimes. Not sure why either.
This happened to one of my shadows from the Peacocky collection… I cannot for the life of me get it to stay in! I’m going to have to get some super glue involved.
This happened to my Venomous Villains- My Dark Magic eyeshadow. The clear part still pops out every now and then. =/
Other than that, the only two that really catch my eye are Thunder & Rain and possibly Heaven & Earth if I had to choose a second.
That happened to mine once, but I didn’t have trouble popping it back in. It never happened again. Just lucky I guess?
The only problem tht I had tht wt was the villians collection too
I would maybe go for Thunder and rain….but other than that, they all seem kind of Blah.Plus I think I am over the whole mineralized shadows, although I still love the mineralized complexion products.
Meh.

These look nice and pigmented, but the colors just don’t seem to interest me. Although Thunder and Rain does look nice.
the sage side of sage/wisdom really reminds me of de menthe… do you think they’re dupes?
i don’t like mineralized eyeshadows, i’d like it if they were regular eyeshadow duos!
I don’t understand why these are limited edition. They look like pretty standard duos. They should just make them permanent.

I love MES. Sage and Wisdom and Heaven and Earth are cuteee.
MAC has never been my go-to brand, and after the mess that was Big Bounce, they’ve kind of turned me off (despite me logically knowing that every brand does some things well and others not so much.) I look at these and am just completely bored.

These look lovely, it also looks like there’s an improvement in formula. I’m not noticing as much of a difference between wet & dry with these.
I just find I don’t really reach for the MES as much. Maybe I just need to make them more accessible, so I see them. Thanks for the swatches! :]

Look at them in the pans, I thought I’d really like Thunder and Rain but seeing them swatched, it’s Sage and Wisdom that really appeals to me the most.
I’m not super excited for these, but Sage & Wisdom and Pretty & Prim seems unique enough to pick up.
Do you think this and that would make a good cheekbone highlighter if swirled together? Regular msfs have too much shimmer for me?
The frosted side is still pretty frosty, so I don’t think you’d see a major drop in shimmer from a regular MSF!
