I have been limiting myself to 3 items per mac haul/collection. So I went with the MC collex and got both fluidlines and Mehr lipstick. I skipped Peacocky. Love the shades but I don’t like the oversized eyeshadows.

Oh yeah, forgot to say I am getting Sexpectations shadow too. I forgot because my MAC person got it for free as her gratis and she is giving it to me for free!! Yes!! I can’t believe she doesn’t want it, but she says it’s not her style but she is keeping the glosses she got.
I picked up Saffron from the Pro Store last weekend and sadly, I am planning to return it. I really wanted to try to love it but I think it’s because I am not a huge fan of the satin finish. I tried it over paint pots and my usual eyeshadow primer. It just looks patchy on my lids – not cute. Too bad, I don’t have many colors like this one.
From the Peacocky line I picked up Tweet Me, Unflappable and Temper Tantra (also from the Pro store) – I’m returning Tweet Me. It goes on so easily but the color is way too light. Per your recommendation, I will just get Melon pigment instead since I love pigments and I know I can get the intensity I want from a peach shadow.
I love Temper Tantra and Unflappable is my kind of dark shadow!
How do you find Temper Tantra on your skin tone? (what is yoru skin tone?) I am thinking of getting it but dont know how i feel about it just yet.

I got both fluidlines (Siahi and Ivy) and i might get flesh lipglass and yash lipstick and oomph eyeshadow later if they are still available. From Peacocky, I got Peacocky (OF COURSE!!!) and mega metal eyeshadows: Noir Plum, Sexpectations and Odalisque. I will probably get Ego mega metal eyeshadow later and temper tantra and vanity fair kissable lip colours later, if they are available. Thanks for the heads up that it was online, I bet I wouldnt have gotten half the stuff if I didnt get the heads up!

As disappointed as I was in the high prices for Peacocky, I hauled Dalliance and Center Stage e/s and Temper Tantra and Flaunting it l/c. From Mickey Contractor I picked up Saffron eyeshadow. If the Saffron turns out to be too close a dupe of Urban Decay Free Love–and I’m afraid it will–I’ll swap it for Paparazz-she.
Got sur and gana….thinking I can use gana as an all over highlight so I only buy matte/satin blushes and eyeshadows. Then I got the duo corrector and mehr lipstick. Also picked up the fluidline altho I have no idea what brush to use to apply it.

So frustrated. I checked the Mac website just after midnight (EST) last night before I went to bed, but it wasn’t up yet. Then checked again when I woke up and Siahi was sold out. It’s ridiculous to expect customers to stay up all night to purchase an eyeliner.
Anyone have any ideas where I can get one? We have a MAC counter here, but our market is too small to get this launch.
You could a couple of PRO stores and see if they can send you one – though it will cost $7 to ship (flat rate shipping – so if you have more to purchase…). It seems like several PRO stores have been carrying this launch.

I wanted to thank you for all the swatches and reviews you always provide. In particular those for the last 3 MAC collections helped me a lot with my last order, today.
I live far from any of the MAC stores and/or counters we have here in Italy so I have to place my orders by phone and I always try to read as much revies as I can before each purchase.
I originally planned to get loads of stuff from the Mickey Contractor collection, but then after I went through swatches and reviews, I ended up getting just two.
I got Siahi fluidline and Oomph e/s.
Also I got a few things of Cham Pale’s: Feline eye kohl, chromagraphic pencil NC15/NW20 and ‘Quietly please’ lipstick, along with some other permanent stuff.
Since I was on the phone (MAC staff is really really polite and they always give you any info you need) I asked about the Peacocky collection because I wanted to purchase a couple of things from that coll. too. I wanted to know some of the prices (MAC stuff is definitely cheeper in the US!) but they couldn’t tell me yet because – for everyone who’s intrested (and lives in Italy) – this collection is gonna come out February 1st.
i can’t believe siahi is already gone 🙁 i got ivy and mehr anyway.

i just wanted to have peacocky kissable lipcolour so i ordered that last night.
I just think it’s a HUGE waste to just buy such large collections JUST to swatch them..I know this blog is very popular but it is really bad for the environment and MAC shouldn’t put out such endlessly large collections ESPECIALLY when you can find the same colors in their permanent line. Their perm line is big enough to dupe basically every limited edition item with some exceptions. Just sayin..it takes plastic over 100 years to decompose in a landfill. Not very green to keep putting out products that frequently..thanks!

But I am sick of the Limited Edition crap MAC does. Only the LE items seem to be unique and high quality at times.
To increase the excitement for a product and then have such a limited supply? It’s insane, especially given the fact many of MAC’s more desirable products (ie. fluidlines and paint pots) are just not redone as often. It’s always a constant barrage of the SAME shadows, the SAME lipsticks, the SAME glosses.
All of this hullabaloo and ‘LE’ madness to ensure they turn a profit.

And it’s always the products that are universally appealing to all shades, too. The Tartan collection and Cham-Pale… no one is interested because they aren’t unique and aren’t flattering on a wide array of skintones.
I wish MAC had a butt that could be kicked for all this greedy silliness…
Yeah, maybe I’m bitter because I missed the Sur blush (I loved Darkly My Dear but Sur looked prettier swatched) and the Siahi fluidline even though I was online shopping for replacements and Peacocky but this reeeaally has to stop.

Most brands seem to plan out collections anywhere from 6-18 months in advance, so while we’ll certainly see similar items over the next few months, it’s hard to say what!

Of all the brands and retailers I wish had an affiliate program… it is MAC. LOL.
I am so ticked off. The only two things I wanted from the Mickey Contractor collection, Saffron and Siahi? Are sold out already! I only just found out about the collection being online, and I highly doubt I live anywhere near any store that has it.
I’m really annoyed with MAC, because selling out of things not even a day after launch is absolutely ridiculous, especially since they don’t restock.
Wouldn’t they make more of a profit if they actually, oh, I dunno, HAD ITEMS TO SELL?
I completely agree with S.A. on this issue. Obviously, with this line and Peacocky, MAC has created something that people want to buy. They’d greatly increase their credibility by dropping the coy super limited edition schtick, and make enough of the product to be sold to a wider audience. Or they could do something like UD has with their rerelease of the Naked palette. If MAC consistently has excellent products like the Siahi fluidline and the metal/starflash shadows, they’re only going to make themselves look better as a company.
I’ve been a loyal MAC customer for many many years and have turned lots of people onto the line. There’s no reason that I (or anyone) should have to stay up all night to buy a flippin’ eyeliner, like it was concert tickets or something! I’ve lost respect for the company for this.
I completely agree with both posters, which is turning me off from this line in general. They have become the equivalent of a Wal-Mart store on Black Friday. Not a good look! However, in all fairness to MAC, I am sure that MANY folks bought 2, 3, and 4+ backups of several items that helped to greatly increase the sell out. If people just bought ONE of whatever they wanted, there might be enough to go around for most others.
Well, definitely, but then people get paranoid about, “What if I love this colour and can’t get anymore?” and… yeah, no one is going to buy just one.
And you can’t stop the people who know a MAC LE could fetch big bucks on eBay, so they buy up items only to resell them.
I am, in the end, pretty content because I did get to my local counter and picked up what I wanted from Peacocky, as well as an eyeshadow and eyeliner that were sold out online. Also, the sales associate was a complete sweetheart and agreed it was ridiculous.
(I fully admit I only buy one of anything because I have a LOT of make-up. It’s unlikely that I’ll ever finish an entire pan of anything. Though I am highly tempted to snag a back-up of Prussian Eyeshadow, because it is an amazing colour and I might be sad if I run out.)
Anyone else get a backorder notice from MAC after they purchased their items yesterday??? I got one for Sur Blush. The notice said, “Regrettably, we are unable to fulfill your order for the following item(s) as it is temporarily out-of-stock. We expect to ship the item(s) below within two weeks.”
Hmmmm….I’ve never had this happen to me before. Wonder if they will really be shipping out more??
Same thing happened to me in the past. they won’t ship the product since they will not restock they will just send you another email saying they didn’t restock and that they are sorry. This happened to me when Stereo rose was released and they DID eventually send it to me about 2 weeks later so I am sure they will send it to you if they say they will.
They released this collection at my Mac pro store in Chicago this morning. I got 2 of the Siahi fluidlines (one for my daughter), 1 ivy fluidline, Sur (which now I wish I didn’t because it is EXACTLY the same as Mac Darkly my dear from Venemous villians)and Gulabi!
Peacocky – nothing. The cost of the eyeshadows in Canada meant I skipped them all. I wish these had been regular sized.
Mickey Contractor – just Saffron eyeshadow to date. We don’t have a store that had this collection within 300 miles of me so I couldn’t play. I didn’t buy the lipsticks which I probably would have if I could have tried them on.
HI I wanna ask a question. for MAC lipsticks. Im having a really really hard time choosing the shade that I want. can you tell me a shade that’s caramel/brownish peachy shade.. PIGMENTED, moisturizing and long lasting because my lips are very pale and dry. lipsticks like mac modesty doesnt show up on me. sorry if its too long. I dont know how to PM you. thanks!

My heart is broken because i slept on the lipsticks from mickey contractor and now the ones i really wanted are sold out. I just knew that Yash would be a good nude color for my NC 45 skin. I totally missed the you saying that it was only in select stores and online only. Had I known this I wouldn’t have spend any money in MAC this morning. I am for sure not paying $30+ on ebay for them
Does anybody have a clue about when Peacocky is coming out in the UK? We have Mickey Contractor but that’s not what I want!
I’m not sure but I think the peacock collection might be released later this week as we usually get them a couple of days after the US. Hope I helped! 🙂
