MAC Warm Thrillseekers Pigments/Glitter Set Review, Photos, Swatches
Pigments: Gift O’ Glamour, Gilded Green, Gold Mode, Most Darling; Reflects Bronze Glitter
MAC Warm Thrillseekers Pigments/Glitter Set
Each pigment/glitter set includes four pigments and one glitter, each contains 0.09 oz. of product, according to the tin. The five glass vials are housed inside a tartan-decorated metal tin, and there is a plastic insert that keeps them standing together, but it’s removable, should you desire. I did find it curious that there were no inserts regarding uses (e.g. what’s eye/lip safe) in any of the sets, though.
This set includes: Gift O’ Glamour (pale metallic pink), Gilded Green (frosty mid-tone green with gold pearl), Gold Mode (tan gold), Most Darling (medium brown shimmer), and Reflects Bronze (sparkling rich gold).
- Gift O’ Glamour is a pinky beige with a champagne frosted shimmer. The pink is very subtle in this–I would not have thought of this shade based on the description of “metallic pink.” It’s a little like Expensive Pink eyeshadow. This is a new and limited edition shade to this set.
- Gilded Green is a pale aqua-green with a shimmer-sheen finish. It’s kind of a combination of Aquadisiac and Juxt–more closely resembling Aquavert and Metamorph eyeshadows (both limited edition) merging together. This is a repromote.
- Gold Mode is a gilded champagne with a high sheen. It’s a lighter, less red-toned version of Woodwinked eyeshadow. This is a repromote.
- Most Darling is a medium-dark warm brown with soft bronze shimmer. It reminded me of Soft Brown eyeshadow but with shimmer. This is a new and limited edition shade to this set.
- Reflects Bronze is a bright coppery glittery concoction. Think a glittery version of Amber Lights eyeshadow. This is a permanent shade.
I think the pigment sets are a good value, and they’re always worth a peek if you’re into loose color or pigments. You’re getting 0.45 oz. of product for $32.50, while a single, full-sized pigment contains 0.15 oz. of product and retails for $19.50–essentially, this is $60 worth of pigments/glitters.

- Value: 10/10
- Ease of Use: 4/5

RECOMMENDATION: I like that two of the pigments are new shades, but this set almost ends up being a neutral set, because of how many browns are in it.

Will they have these online?
Yes, they will!
This set is the only Tartan Tale item I’m very interested in buying. But since I already have Expensive Pink and Soft Brown, I’m wondering if I’ll take the plunge. Probably!
I don’t have any pigments so I may have to buy this set. I like warm, neutral colors so this looks like it was made for me
Thanks for the review, Christine!
Much as I love the colours in this set (and I’ve been wanting Gold Mode for a while, too) I hate these tiny jars with their tiny openings so I won’t be buying.
Gold mode is so worth it though! I bought it years ago and it’s the best pigment I’ve ever used. It goes on incredibly smooth with no fall out, even dry. And since it is so highly pigmented and sparkly, it barely takes any at all! I use it all the time and I haven’t even made a dent in the amount I have! I can’t say enough good things about it.
3 colors look pretty similar –“
love the gift’o glamour and gold mode. the green looks a bit odd to me lol
the only one i really like is reflects bronze, and thats permanent anyways.
Beautiful colors, but I think I’ll pass this.
All the pigments/glitter are on my list! You just can’t go wrong!! These are by far my favorite sets 🙂
I definitely want this set, since I don’t have any of these pigments/glitters in my collection. I especially love the green one. Great reviews. Thank you!
Hi Christine!I just wanna know if you back 2 mac the little bottles or the box? Thanks for the swatches!
I think if you do, you have to B2M everything – tin + 5 vials.
I love this set! I already went and pre-ordered it from my MAC girl … can’t wait til next Thursday! eeek!
Wow I’m in love with the Gilded Green !
gilded green is absolutely beautiful and goes on fairly evenly. I am not too adept with pigment but this one went on with just the right amount and not a bunch of glaring screaming gleam.
The green ruined it…
i second that.
Gilded Green looks just like the Gosh Effect Powder in Lime (#20).
The one that really stands out to me is the green one. The rest seem pretty normal, seeing as I already have a fairly large collection of neutrals. Not sure if I’m getting this one. It’s a great way to get several pigments at a time though. Normally, the pigment jars are a bit pricey, and contain waaaaaaay too much product to possibly go through. This is a good option. =D
these look amazing but i dont think i would ever use glided green. do you know if these will ever come out on their own?! also what are the prices and do you have any idea when they will be online in the uk?! thank you!!!
Hey Dorothy,
I don’t have UK prices, but it’ll probably pop up in the UK in late November.
I just bought this set and Sly as a Fox today! Really the only things I wanted from the holiday collection and I am so excited to use them!
Quick Question: Woodwink turns orange on me, so i was wondering if so will gold mode?
Gold Mode doesn’t have strong red tones in its base like Woodwinked.
Christine do you think that set look good on NW20?Thanks!!!
Yes!
Which of these pigment sets do you think is the most versatile/which is your favorite? I don’t own any MAC pigments and really like them from what I have used of my friends’. Thinking that this would be a nice jumping off point!
Probably the warm set!
Which is a better deal? getting the Later pigments or this Warm pigments if I don’t have any pigments?
Later is just one pigment – sorry, did you mean the cool or smoky set? The sets are always the better deal.
i am wondering why there is this UGLY green in this beautiful set. 🙂 i want to have something like “dark soul” instead….
i love your blog, christine!! xx
Hi Christine.
You say that ‘Reflects Bronze’ is a permanent shade, but I can’t find any reflects glitters on the MAC website, does this mean they’re pro only?
x
It is PRO.
