MAC Cham-Pale: I Get No Kick Eye Kohl

MAC I Get No Kick Eye Kohl ($14.50 for 0.048 oz.) is described as a “metallic nude,” and it is a new and limited edition eyeliner from Cham-Pale.  MAC’s description is dead-on–it is a soft champagne nude with a metallic sheen.  It works really well on the lower lash line to wake up tired eyes by adding some light and reflective sheen.  Smooth and pigmented as MAC’s Eye Kohls, it also wears well (going on eight hours at the time of writing this review) without smudging or migrating.

I didn’t realize it, but the Eye Kohl is 0.048 oz., while most eye kohls are 0.04 oz., so this is a bit more of a value than I originally thought!  I will include a swatch comparison of this shade against a few other nude eyeliners, but it does seem quite similar to Urban Decay’s Midnight Cowboy and Make Up For Ever #23L.  I’m not sure if this is waterline safe, though.

MAC Cham-Pale Collection is a limited edition launch (official information and photos here) that is set to launch in-stores on December 26th in North American, January 2011 for international MAC locations. The approximate launch date for online is December 24th. It features color products as well as a few skincare items.

Oh btw… It seems that they’ve named this after an old Frank Sinatra song “I get no kick.”

A line in it goes : “I get no kick from champagne.” And since the collection is Cham-pale, and this color is champagne like… I could be out of my mind, but I’m gonna say this is how they got the name.

I love that song, Sinatra does an awesome job with it! It’s an old one Cole Porter composed, “I Get a Kick Out of You.” As soon as I saw the Cole Porter reference this item became a must-have! 🙂

I’ve been debating on which eyeliners to pick up!

I thought I wanted the UD Eyeliner kit that’s coming out in January (the one with Asphyxia, Midnight Cowboy, and Perversion).

But now I’m wondering if I’d end up liking NC15/NW20, Feline and I Get No Kick just as well.

I was thinking from your swatches before that Feline or Perversion is definitely the blackest black.

I was also thinking that picking up MUFE 23L or UD Midniht Cowboy or I get no Kick would be good for the lower water line to open up the eyes instead of what I normally use, UD Yeyo.

Since I’m paler than N1, I keep thinking that NC15/NW20 would be too dark, but I really like the idea of picking up a matte shade for the lower water line, too.

I know I’ve had problems with the MAC kohls in the past, but I realized that was before I knew I had oily lids and used eye shadow primer. So since I don’t tend to have problems with eyeliners now, I’m thinking they’d probably work just fine.

Anyway, your swatches really help 🙂 Thank you!

Yeah I tend to pick up my favorite colors in the full sizes and keep the smaller kit ones in my purse. My first foray into the UD liners was one of the VIP kits & I loved it. It caused me to buy a bunch in full size (Flipside, Electric, Zero, Yeyo, Ransom).

It doesn’t look like you answered my question in your review, so I was wondering how soft this is? Does it feel really poky when you line your lower lash line with it? Or is it semi-soft? I’m really fond of Pearlglides, because I love how soft they are.

I was debating between this one or the NC15/20 one. Is the NC15/20 waterline safe? If so then I’ll pick that one over the IGNK since that one isn’t guaranteed safe.

Beautiful 🙂 I would’ve thought I’d love the Cham-Pale collection more than I have but I really like this one and it offers a good alternative to the UD Midnight Cowboy which I fell for but can’t get a hold of here (living in a country that doesn’t sell UD).

Do you know how long it holds up on the waterline though (assuming the eight hours was on your lower lashline)? Thank you!

I don’t know why I’m so torn between this one and the MUFE Aqua Eyes. This is cheaper and is very similar to the MUFE 23L but my problem is I’m not sure how long this is on the water lash line. When you say lower lash line do you also mean the water last line? Any advice, ladies?

how do you feel this liner would be on darker skin tones such as nw 45 or nw 50 ? b/c i am contemplating getting it. it really nice, but what do you think temptalia ?

If this is sold out currently online… will they restock? or is it gone forever already lol? i was just wondering because i REALLY want this!
