MAC Glitz Please Shiny Pretty Shadow ($21.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium-dark pink with warmer undertones and flecks of silver glitter over a metallic finish. They’re intended to be applied with fingertips, but in reality, they can be applied with brushes as well if preferred. It had good pigmentation applied with fingertips or with a dry brush but a wet brush definitely amplified the intensity and made the base color appear deeper and more opaque.
I would recommend using an adhesive spray or base with these just to ensure that all of the glittery bits intact, even though the product has good adhesion on its own. It does have light fallout over time, and if more vigorously blended, a bit of fallout during application as well. This newer shade in the formula actually seemed creamier and smoother, a little finer. On me, this shade stayed on well for eight and a half hours with light fallout over time.
Per MAC, the Shiny Pretty Shadow formula is “safe for contact lens wearers” and “ophthalmologist tested,” and they are designed to be used as eyeshadows.

Formula Overview
$21.00/0.05 oz. - $420.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "saturated pressed glitter eye shadow" that have "endless, shifting depth and dimension" that is designed to be applied with fingers. They contain plastic glitter, but the packaging showed a symbol of an "eye" and did not come with any warning/disclaimer about use; often, glitter comes with a warning of it not being intended for use on/around the immediate eye area (MAC does it with some of their loose glitters).
These are most definitely for the glitter lovers, and if you love a duochrome, then these might have your name stamped all over them. For as glitter-packed as the formula was, they felt smoother and nowhere near as dry/loose to the touch as a lot of glittery eyeshadows feel. I would describe the formula has medium, buildable coverage that applies best with fingertips or a dampened brush. I would recommend using a glitter adhesive to maximize the hold over time, though these had nowhere near the fallout that I'd have expected--there was definitely more to the formula that helped the product adhere to bare skin and not succumb to gravity immediately. On their own, they creased faintly by the sixth hour of wear, had light fallout, but I kept them on for a good 10 hours, and there was additional fallout but still a significant amount of glitter stayed on my lid.
There wasn't anything in the product description that refers to them being used wet, but they seemed to apply slightly better with a dampened brush and had more hold using an adhesive spray/glitter glue (Fix+ helped minimize the fallout but not quite as well as a tackier glitter adhesive). This is one of those products that definitely looks more interesting and complex in person as all of the various pearls and glitters reflect and dance with the light. They did have a lot of dimension, shift, and depth as promised.
If you expect to use these dry and need to see zero fallout throughout the day, these won't win you over. If you like tons and tons of sparkle/glitter and don't mind a bit of fallout (or else are comfortable using a fixing spray or glitter adhesive), they're really gorgeous in person.

MAC Put U on Gold Shiny Pretty Shadow ($21.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium-dark gold with soft, warm undertones and a glittering, metallic finish. The pigmentation was opaque whether applied with fingertips, dry brushes, or a wet brush, though a wet brush intensified the shine of the underlying pigment so it had a brighter, shinier finish as a result.
The texture was smoother than you’d expect given how glittery it was, and it had a light creaminess to it that helped the glitter bind with the underlying powder and have impressive adhesion to bare skin. I’d still use it with an adhesive spray or base for even better hold, as there was still light fallout over the eight and a half hours it lasted for.

Ooooh Put U On Gold is so pretty! Quite unique in that it’s not just a brassy gold, but has some warm and pink tones coming through. I wonder if it would be worth the hassle of fallout for me… a lot from this collection is tempting me! Thanks for the reviews! I would have definitely overlooked it without your reviews.

I liked Glitz Please, but knew I had something similar enough that I actually love more in Fenty Meteor Crush.
Now these are definitely pretty! Just love the gold shade and MAC has done these well.
Christine, do you know how these might differ from the Dazzleshadow line? Apologies in advance if I missed any comparisons.
It’s a totally different formula – it feels different, the particle size is different, the ratio of glitter/base pigment is different. A lot of Dazzleshadows are dry, prone to fallout, and don’t work well dry/alone.
Not the least bit interested in glittery shadows, but I must admit these are a delight to look at … from a distance. 🙂
