Beautiful packaging! The pearlmatte powder is especially lovely. I would love to get a brush just because of the packaging, but from personal experience, the Limited Edition brushes are always kind of scratchy.

Megan Avatar

I totally agree on their brushes- they just aren’t very good, and now that we can get Japanese brushes in the rest of the world, there isn’t any excuse for lesser quality brushes, especially at the high prices MAC charges.

But now I’m re-reading the descriptions, and it seems like it’s just two brushes and they are double sided? That’s rather interesting. They still might be too scratchy to use, but at least it’s an innovative and interesting design.

OMG, I’ve been drooling over that face powder ever since I saw it. Love the tropical flower embossing and pretty colors. NEEEEED!! And a couple of lipsticks and glosses will probably also end up in my cart. MAC is FINALLY doing some creative packaging

Erica Avatar

Haha true and I eat it up all the time! Lol. I just bought cream cup lipstick and I really didn’t bc I basically have that color from various LE collections over the years 🙂

Savannah Avatar

The packaging looks so cheap to me… and so far, nothing is shouting at me. Kind of boring. After Alluring aquatics their summer stuff went bland.

Primpcess Avatar

Wow, loving so much in this collection. The packaging alone got me ready to spend my money ???. So ready for summer. That face powder tho, ?? the lusture drops, the purple lipstick, the prep+prime fix+, I need it all!! I’m even considering the first eyeshadow palette. Just take my money MAC ?

Some gorgeous packaging and that powder with the coloured flowers (I’m guessing it’s the PearlMatte) is so pretty to look at. I love Fix+ and I love the smell of coconut but I am not sure if I want it on my face (it’d be great sprayed on my body after being out in the sun, but iffy about it on my face).

Christine, a question about what might be changes on the site. I used to get replies only to “my” comments, which I liked. Then suddenly, I started getting emails about all the comments that came after mine in any given thread and found my inbox was filling up with messages really fast. Now I see the only choices are to get notified of replies AND a summary of comments (I clicked “unsubscribe” to a few discussions and now I seem not to be getting even replies to my comments in ANY discussion – no email about your reply to my comment in Free For Haul Friday, for example). Is there a “middle ground” as there was in past?

Christine Avatar

Hi Mariella,

The subscription plugin that we used for 5+ years broke – it doesn’t allow anyone to activate or unsubscribe (the latter being a massive issue), so we had to remove it. Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of plugins that do this, and we tried two (wasted almost a full week of development on it, and we couldn’t get it to work) and the other only allows for notifications to replies to your comment as well as other comments – you are supposed to get a “digest” of comments if there are more than 3 comments made in an hour (so not to flood your inbox) and only get “good” comments (e.g. “nah!” wouldn’t be sent as a single comment via email, it would only be in a digest).

Right now, based on feedback, we are more likely to remove notifications entirely.

Mariella Avatar

Christine, thanks for the information! It’s helpful to know the “why” because I was wondering if I’d inadvertently clicked something I didn’t mean to click or if it was some sort of problem at my end. And you’ve explained it so that even a Luddite like me can understand it. Many thanks!

Christine Avatar

I’m in contact with the creator of the plugin re: reader feedback on it, but I’m not sure what it takes to separate the two types of notifications (I completely understand why some prefer only reply notifications!) and whether they’d be up to modifying it.

I did update the verbiage for the notification yesterday morning to try to make it clearer that there is a change to the way it works as well!

Also very nice lipstick packaging. I want to try fix + for a Long Time now and I think with this packaging and the coconut I will finally buy it

Megan Avatar

This is such a happy and pretty collection- looks awesome for summer! I’m really looking forward to your reviews, especially of the eyeshadows! MAC’s mattes (esp on the limited editions) can be so hit-and-miss. I don’t want to get sucked in by the fun packaging just to find out the shadows are lame. The lipsticks are probably good (they usually are), and I’m sure the brushes aren’t anything special (which is too bad…they are really pretty). I’ve never tried the Prep and Prime Spray, but it seems to be a really popular product, so now might be the time for me to give it a shot!

Betty Avatar

Cute! The pearlmates powder would probably be a blush or bronzer on me, like a few of the lipsticks and glosses and Oh my Banana – hoping for good reviews.

Brenda Avatar

Love the overall feel, colours and packaging, but I just don’t understand the prices on the eyeshadow palettes being $10 more CDN! Esp. for what started as a Canadian company. I find it disappointing 🙁 I would purchase more often if we had competitive pricing.
