MAC Cham-Pale: Feline Kohl Power

MAC Feline Kohl Power ($14.50 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “rich black,” and though it is limited edition (yet again!), it has been out several times previously–so you may already have it (or perhaps you simply want a backup). I think the last time it came out, I purchased two or three backups myself!

Feline is such a rich, deep dark black with a smooth, slightly creamy consistency that glides on effortlessly and intensely, because the pigmentation is excellent, too. It’s smudge-able if you so desire, but it wears for three to four hours on my waterline (impressive for me) and all day on my lash line or lid.

I would compare it to Urban Decay’s Perversion (which is not yet available by itself) in terms of the richness in blackness.

MAC Cham-Pale Collection is a limited edition launch (official information and photos here) that is set to launch in-stores on December 26th in North American, January 2011 for international MAC locations. The approximate launch date for online is December 24th. It features color products as well as a few skincare items.

RECOMMENDATION: For an ultra black eyeliner, I think Feline is one of the best I’ve come across (and one of the blackest, if not the blackest!).

Christine- would you say this is as long-wearing as UD Perversion? If you had to choose Feline Power or Perversion (given they were both permanent), which would you go for?

The only think i don’t like about it is that it does tend to run off the waterline and then becomes a raccoon circle under the eye. You have to set it with powder because it smudges so.

So true, I bought it and use it yesterday. I was so happy when I left home, my eyes looked amazing. An hour later I was in a restaurant, I went to the ladies and was shocked by my racoon eyes, I was like Little J from Gossip Girl on a very goth day!
It took me forever to clean that mess….I should try the powder next time

How does Feline come to Prestige Total Intensity Black? (I didn’t see this in the black eyeliner comparisons also it is a great eyeliner and is highly recommended on makeup boards). If it’s the same then I’m going to skip it, since Prestige is half the price of MAC.

I really wanted to love Feline when I finally decided to pick it up with a collection last year, but it ends up everywhere after a few hours on me. I don’t have oily eyelids at all, but this liner ends up half-way to my eyebrows and smudged all over the place. Not a good look.

Christine, I’ve used “Covergirl’s Perfect Blend” Kohl eyeliner on my waterline for over 10 years now and have never been tempted to stray….until now!! ;p

What I’d like to know is…does that rich black pigment translate when you put it on the waterline? You mentioned it stays on your waterline for 3-4 hours, do eyeliners in general just not stay to well on your waterline, or would you say that would be a general thing all over? I’d say I get the same amount of wear with my Covergirl eyeliner but the colour may not be as rich as this one!!

Hmm lets just hope I can get my hands on one of these babies, it sounds like it’s highly coveted!! 😉 Michelle xXx

3-4 hours of wear on the waterline? Even my MUFE Aqua Eyes lasts longer than that. I’m still debating whether to get this. I like the darkness of it but if the wear isn’t THAT long then I’m not sure if it’s worth the buy. What do you all think?

After hearing/reading so many amazing things about Feline, I finally picked one up yesterday along with a few ChamPale products. Can’t wait to try it on my waterline! I hope it’s richer and longer-lasting than the Graphblack liner.

I ordered a couple of these online, and they arrived today. Weird thing is that the pencil part (wood, or whatever it is) is not black, on mine. Probably not a huge deal, but I always find the wood-ish pencils don’t sharpen as smoothly…

Christine,
I am getting mixed reviews about this eye pencil, you seem to love it but many people say it smudges all around the eye by the end of the day. I am thinking about getting it, but not if it is going to smudge everywhere. I have oily eye lids as well, like my shadow will crease if all I used is a paint pot as a base, I need a primer as well.
