MAC Cosmetics DSquared Collection

Every season the fashion crowd is up and on the run, crazy for the fierce and sexy fun we’ve come to expect from designers Dan and Dean Caten, the Canadian twins who know how to pack a punch – and throw a party!

With their haute hi-jinx and body-beautiful clothes for boys and girls, a collaboration with M·A·C simply could NOT be avoided! “DSquared² and M·A·C are on the same trip!” says Dan. It starts with a strong, sooty, blackest-ever wild-child eye… a new Greasepaint Stick also in blue and violet versions, and Pro Gloss to create it. Neutral and perfected skin will get more drama with highlighting and low lighting from Sculpt and Shape Powders and the 165 Tapered Cheek/Highlight Brush all the better to achieve it. And finally, the totally nude Pro Lip Erase does its stuff, followed by a light Lipstick and Lip Conditioner to put the lilt and lift back in….

But the cynosure of this season’s scintillating collaboration is the daring, dramatic, slightly demented DSquared² eye. Have fun with it! This collection brings us to the Ziegfeld Follies by way of Grey Gardens, a bit dishevelled, a litt le Girl Interrupted, both dramatically hip and dangerously sexy.

yet another collection I can’t wait for! LoL so far the greasepaint sticks and the lip sticks are calling me. Would like the lip erase as well. Actually…now that I went over everything listed…I think I wanted everything LoL.

i thought this collection was launching on October 12th in US stores?? thats what specktra and other beauty blogs said? Did they change the release date?

This is coming out next Monday? I thought that MAC only released on Thursdays….oh well, Monday works for me! I neeeeeeeeed Feline in my life 🙂

I will be picking up one of the Sculpting Duos, Blood Red l/s, and 3 Felines (I am down to only having 1 backup and I never ever ever want to run out!)

I also thought this was going to be released in October…Would it really be released a week after Style Black in the US?

Regardless, 165 and feline for me.

I remember when Gloss texture was a regular item around 10 years ago. This is when the glossy eye was very much in style, when Calvin Klein had is infamous eyewash. It looks great on the runways, and I like it on the browbone as a highligher for night looks. It also looks sexy on the liner of a smoky eye.

I never thought I would live to see the day when grundge came back in style. “It smells like teen spirit” LOL.

This will be a busy week for MAC! First Dazzle Cremes and Style Black comes out the same day and 4 days later D square comes out. I will be getting Feline and the 3 paint sticks in this collection, unless the black in this one is the same in style black. Everybody will be spoiled pretty!

I agree Christine. I just made a video about that, its like give us a break! If I go back 2 or 3 collections I probably havent touched that stuff more than twice because there was a new collection right around the corner that got me all excited and made me forget about it.

I don’t like when they release collects too close together too. I am always excited about new collections, but back to back release dates are finically exhausting and it doesn’t give me enough time to recover. And I thought there will be about a month of breathing room for me to try things from Dior, Chanel and Gurlaine because there are so items I really like from those collections.

Its great that they are doing a release early. I have to see some swatches of the highlight/contour duos and lipsticks before i can decided if i should get them or not.

i dont like that they moved up the date, i was excited when it was first announced but the packaging and the overral products are nothing to be excited about. i still want to check out the 165 and feline

I went to mac today and they swatched both grease paint sticks for me (they had their dsquared shipment in already), and they are the same. Both have a slight purple sheen to them!

I am SO excited about this! I can’t wait until I see the Feline Kohl Power Pencil for myself, I’ve heard nothing but good things about it! If I’m absolutely in love with it, I think I’ll will be buying two! I also definitely want the 165 brush, oh oh and the Sculpt and Shape Powder!

what does sculpt and shape do? I’m an NW25 so which should I get? I keep a rolling shopping basket on the mac website and right now it has over $200 of stuff in it without this collection – so unfair!!! I think I want the blue greasepaint stick, the lip erase, the feline, and the gloss.

Hey Scarlettholly. I went to my local MAC store to see what sculpt shape powder is for me, so if your a NW25 like me, my makeup artist said to go with the none biege/emphasize palest cream/tan.

Crap. I gotta try that lip erase. I vary from NC35 to NC40 so that’s perfect. I guess with some of the money I’m saving on not getting nymphette and going with a drugstore dupe I might be able to go for it.

Accentuate/Sculpt (Pale blushed beige/Soft taupe brown) would be good for your skintone as im nc35/40 and i use thhis duo thougth i got mines from the last collection!
