I found it really amazing!
I know not everybody would wear this look (me first… hahaha, at least, not all together), but I find the colours are very well combined and really suits the girl!

Love the eyes and lips separately, but together this is a hot mess. I can understand maybe for the runway or a photo shoot, but to suggest that this is for going out on the town…not so sure I buy into that.

Think the eyes are awful. The 3 latest videos are in my opinion are really bad. The first ones that they did were great- love the mineralize one.

you know i love color and i’m all about “out there” looks… but this reminded me of joker makeup. i thought it was kind of clown-ish and something straight out of a horror movie (maybe even bette davis is “whatever happened to baby jane”). which is cool and all… but i wanted to see fake blood splattered across her face at the end 🙂

stong eyes/strong lips/strong cheecks is a very tricky to make look flattering. at best it’s pageant makeup, at worst it’s “i just broke into mom’s makeup kit” makeup. lol! i’m SO not about beauty makeup, but i still like a clear focal point and a place for the eyes to rest. maybe that’s the graphic designer in me (or the virgo! haha!)

either way, i watched this video yesterday and am REALLY interested to see what other people think!

It’s a nice artistic look but I see it as more appropriate for a photo shoot or a runway show than “for the town”. Personally I wouldn’t define it as “very grounded”, but well, that’s just me 😉

I like the lips, but not the eyes. But then again, I am not one for bold bright colors on the eyes, which is why I didn’t care for this last collection.

I love this look. The eyes are way intense, but that’s the point of “Dare to Wear” and I would totally rock this look on a night out clubbing! Lips are gooorgeous too.

I loved the green on her eyes. It suits her skin color however, the lip didn’t work for me with such a bold eye. The lips are beautiful on their own but just dont mesh well with the eyes.

I love the content but the way its presented is just horrible. You cant flash a product over a finished face and expect people to be able to see both. Additionally, they never say the name of their own product. It’s such a simple plug! Not everyone memorizes every line that comes out of the company. So basically, they use some mystery colors to create a green eye and interesting lip/face look but we never get to see the actual finished face without a product overlapping. Their editor should be smacked. Horrible advertising, editing and marketing. Just dumb. That video made me excited and then instantly confused and mad. Just pathetic.

actually, if you watch the videos at maccosmetics.com, they have a list of EVERY product used and a step-by-step print out guide of every look for ever video they make! SUPER helpful. I love these vids, because they’re so artistic (the makeup AND the video itself…) and they get to the point.. unlike some 15 minute tutorial vids on youtube these days!

Oooh, thanks for posting the video, Christine. I love the entire look. In my opinion, that girl carries those colors well and she seems so very happy with her new makeup look!!! You’ve gotta wear what makes you happy.

I AGREE WITH SOME OF THE COMMENTS POSTED HERE. SHE IS USING WAY TOO MUCH COLOR… SHE SHOULD HAVE FOCUS IN ONE AREA ONLY… LOVE THE LIPS… WHICH COLOR DID SHE USED FOR THE MODELS CHEEKS?

i brought plumage b/c of this vid.
see how she has removed her palette dividers. her palette is holding shadows. and blushes i never knew any officials at MAC did that!

stephanie Avatar

nope, i was wrong, they showed the clip of her in her palette so fast, i thought there were blushes mixed with shadows and the dividers were missing.

Kiska Avatar

No offence but I hate how she did the eyes! Looks so tacky and unflattering, like an 80’s look she just quickly slapped on. I also dislike how she holds her eye while putting on the mascara.

i like the idea of these videos in principle, but i agree with the person who critiqued the style of them…i appreciate that they are short and sweet, but they could make more of an effort to make it clear what product they are using…we shouldn’t be forced to cross reference with the pdf!

as for the look itself, i like how she did the eyes, cheeks and lips individually and might consider trying them out, but all together they would probably only suit certain people and even then only on the runway or stage.

On the MAC site, they list the brushes as well as the products beneath the video, on some videos (or maybe all, i’m not sure) the products that they list change when the artist changes in the vid, which is really cool
