wait this is launching in july/august?? is that correct?? i would think we would know more about this by now if its coming out in a month or two.

I think you should relax and buy only what you really need and really really want otherwise you end up with a lot of expired products 🙂

thats very true and ya for the longest I would buy everything I liked when it came out (not just mac even drugstore items) and now I have tons of makeup and expiration dates and a daughter that cant wear it for 3 more years! Forget the hype buy what you need, use it then get more.

FINALLY WILL GET GOING BANANAS SHEESH 🙂 And a lot of the colors that I don’t have are speaking to me so woo! Matte brights! SO fun. I wonder what this lipglass formula will be like.

ahhh i have to get going bananas!and 2 lipglasses really intrest me. I wonder how much these lipglasses are going to cost..hopefully the same as normal lipglasses..but you know mac, they keep bumping up prices. boo.

the colours look interesting, but i don’t like bright colours at all..
so i think i’m not going to purchase something from this collection..

Wow, this collection sounds awesome, I want
Ban This! Lipglass
Dare to Dare Lipglass
Gimme That! Lipglass
So Bad Lipglass
Aqua Eyeshadow
Crazy Cool Eyeshadow
Louder Please Eyeshadow
Sassy Grass Eyeshadow
Shock-a-holic Eyeshadow
Going Bananas Eyeshadow
Lime Eyeshadow
Sky Blue Eyeshadow

Woooo! What fun colors! I wish I was more brave. Hopefully Christine will do some full collection tutorials like she did with To The Beach…I def rocked the S&P/Fire look yesterday! 🙂

Too bad they’re repromoting some really poor mattes in this launch 🙁 Lime and Aqua?! Why! I hope they’re reformulated, but I doubt it.

Really? I picked up Aqua a year ago and find it to have a Matte2-type texture, super smooth and pigmented. Of course I rarely *use* it (difficult color on me!) but I think its quality is still good.

Woah. The colours look gorgeous in the photos! I don’t know if I want any though, because I’m not a huge fan of MAC’s matte formula. I’ll have to play with them in store. Shock A Holic sounds A-ma-zing!

I’ve been hearing about goin bananas since I started following your blog…so, years ago lol..Definitely getting that at the very least.

I am going to say it now: GOING BANANAS WILL SELL OUT!!! (Wishful thinking? Prove the power of the beauty of Going Bananas!)

what’s the difference between these lipglasses and regular ones? other than the fact that they’re limited…are they less sticky?? ‘Cause I could really get behind that!

I was talking to one of the guys who works at my counter and he said that the pigmentation is super intense compared to the regular lipglasses. According to him they are basically the pigmentation of an amplified lipstick, but in lipgloss form. Who knows if that will be the case though!

HMMM….I’m going to have to choose between this collection & SugarPill. Both have beautiful brights, and I’ve never tried SugarPill, just heard great things!!!

awww… i like sky blue 🙂 it’s a favorite of mine! it’s also nice to see “going bananas” out again! (i’ll probably be snagging a few of those!) aaaannnd i’m also going to need some more room in my kit for lipglosses… sigh… lol.

christine, why do i like lipgloss so much? i have dazzleglasses and lipglasses that i hardly ever use (i always just mix my own gloss on the spot)… but i keep buying them anyway. haha! there’s a question for you – any products that you keep buying but only to own, not to use? (mine would definitely be lipgloss… and orange lipstick. i LOVE orange lipstick but never use it! lol!)

I’m excited to be able to WEAR GOING BANANAS [email protected]#!*(@&#$ At least for a couple of weeks, LOL!

I buy lip products like they’re going out style. Eyeliner? I don’t know… almost feels like EVERY product! I’d say the item I buy and rarely use is probably nail polish. I have bins and bins and keep buying and yet I never have time (or make time) to do my nails.

This collection seems be a little heavy on the blues. I mean, I love blues, but 5 out of 12? Also, not really a fan of having so many permanent shades in a collection.

I really like the look of the lipglass packaging, and I’m always happy to check out new lipgloss forumulas from MAC, but whether I buy any of them will probably mostly come down to how much is in the tube.

I guess I’m one of the very few that don’t find this collection interesting at all! I’m not big on those typical childish, bright eyeshadows and the lipglasses aren’t catchy at all 🙁 But yay for saving money hah!

going bananas?!!!!?!?! yay!
and i definitely want the purples, too, because ya know…i dont have enough purples eyeshadows…. =D muahahahahaha

OMG, Going Bananas finally? I’m so excited, that’s been number one on my repromote wishlist forever! And I love brights and mattes.

It looks like it could be a different *type* of lipglass, but I don’t really know at this time. I imagine more info will come out soon enough! They do say “DARE TO WEAR” on them as well, which suggests they’re special.

do you think the packaging will be different?
it would be cool if each eyeshadow was packaged in a differnt bright color

No, based on the product photography, they’re all in regular black pots. Usually if MAC does anything special, all the photos will reflect that 🙂

i can’t wait to visit free to be, going bananas and lime .. they all seem quite “natural” colors that can be translated on the lid compared to others .. but we will see what the finishes will be like.

This collection is screaming my name!!!

I skipped on Going Bananas last time, but I don’t think that’ll happen again 😉

And I can’t wait to see if that’s a new type of lipglass!

Um.. Christine, sure you didn’t collaborate with MAC in this collection? LOL it totally looks like you could have! Very colourful 🙂

OMG….GOING BANANASI WILL HAVE THE CHANCE TO GET THIS ONE SINCE I MISS OUT ON THE OTHER COLLECTION EXCITED I LIKE THE EYESHADOWS THEM MAC UR MAKING ME GO BROKE START SAVING.

a couple of the eyeshadows look nice, same with the lipglasses, but I’ll probably end up skipping this one. Need to save money for other collections!

i think these eyeshadows might fall into the category of ‘keep buying but not so much wearing’….sigh…

the lipglosses look/sound a bit like they might be along the lines of illamasqua intense glosses…wishful thinking perhaps!

Ok so yes this collection does look amazing (I love me some bright, regardless of how little I use them) however I think its funny that MAC are re promoting some of the most loved limited edition products atm, going bananas, stereo rose etc. Also is it just me or does shock a holic look oddly similar to MUFE no.92…coincidence? I think not. Haha can’t blame them for jumping on that money making bandwagon though, or at least attempting to.

Those lipglasses look quite interesting. As for the shadows, I love brights and I love mattes, so this is win/win for me. Good thing I’m on a NO BUY for June, gives me time to save up for this collection!

wow , this seems like a collection that they put out on the fly, since we are hearing about it so last moment (considering we knows stuff months in advance). u would think they would put out this collection in june (this month)since theirs no mac collections out this month (thank god), but now we have to save up for this one, alice/olivia and in the groove – sheesh mac!
i got totally excited when i saw that it may have the hot colored packaging, but bummed when i saw the black reg packaging.
i wonder what dare to wear lipglass is? how diff is it from the reg lipglass?
so far i want-crazy cool, louder please, sassy grass, shockoholic, going bananas,zingy- i am an e’s whore i know! but one i buy these then depot them , then i can Back 2 mac them for a free dare to wear lipgloss!either dare to dare or so bad! THATS MY PLAN!=)

u know what i dont get with mac ! is why do they put perm/pro colors in their collections anyways, when we can get them anytime? i mean i never buy them , bc im always getting the le ones that will go away. i think its a waste of space. now unless they are putting them in le packaging, like the free to be in the liberty london collection- then i would consider buying it . thats what mac SHOULD do if they want to sell some of their perm products in collections!
christine, i forgot what going bananas looks like, do u have a swatch of it somewhere here on this site?

i wonder if they are going to be the same price of tinted lipglass or dazzleglasses…if the lipglass arent as sticky as dazzleglass im so getting them all..totally skipping the eyeshadows unless one just happens to catch my eye.

Are they going to make this lipglass packaging permanent? I hope not. Do you know if there is going to LE packaging for this collection?

Since the tubes also say ‘DARE TO WEAR’ on them, I don’t think this is permanent packaging… at least not yet.

hmm, now that i think of it, i just might get all of the limited edition eyeshadows. im actually kind of glad that there are some perm/pro ones in this collection because i wont have to worry about snagging them up quick.

It’s funny, Kalee — sometimes we complain about too many repromotes/permanent shades, but then it *does* save us money or takes some pressure off of having to get it *right* away! We are never satisfied, LOL!

I love the brightness of the colours, but I’m not a huge fan of matte lipsticks as a rule (would have preferred satins if they were going for a non-shimmery finish). Any of the pro stuff I can get whenever I want at the pro store here, so that doesn’t excite me too much. Of the ones that aren’t permanent, I’m looking at

Going Bananas- I’ll have to see how similar it is to Bright Sunshine. I don’t wear yellow e.s often, so there’s no point in having both if they’re close.

Sassy Grass- It says pale but the photo (unreliable, I know), looks almost exactly like Kelly e/s, which I have. I’ll see when it comes out.

Louder Please- This is the one that probably interests me the most, but I want to see it in person to see how close it is to Passionate.

From the glosses, maybe Ban This and/ or Bold & Brash. The others all sound like dupes for things I already own…

Oooh so many mattes 🙂 right when I got out of my shimmer phase too, i NEED Louder Please, and maybe free to be and sassy grass for my green eyes 🙂

OMG!!!!!!!!! I am sssssoooooo excited for this collection a lot of the eye shadows are to die for i really hope I can get my hands on going bananas I am looking forward to that color the most since I first saw a swatch of it. (praying please let me be able to get one please let me be able to get one) lol…..im serious:)

Hey christine, I was just wonder since there is no final date for this collection, do you know if this collection is coming out before the
“In the groove collection”

No, it’s a fall collection, so it’s definitely after In the Groove. It will be either late July or early August.

Christine question I am very excited for this collection and cannot wait for its release but I’m confused about the release date your site says release date is July 29th but I’m reading that the release date is July 10th on other sites(specktra). HELP which date is it? I don’t want to miss it.

Hey LH!

I think by “July 10” it’s July 2010, because the 10th is a Saturday, which wouldn’t make any sense! Right now, my info says the 29th. If it changes, I’ll be sure to update it, as well as when all the official details come in.

Thanks I was getting nervous/confused by it. Love your site and I trust your info that’s why when I read it elsewhere I had the big question mark over my head and said to myself Christine would know about this.lol thanks again

Hey, i stopped by my mac counter today in Nordstroms and pre-ordered Going Bananas, Crazy Cool, and Sassy Grass and the MUA said that they are getting the collection on the 29th. So i’m def thinking its the 29th! (as much as i wish it was the 10th!) haha 🙂

i think i want to get Going Bananas from this collection!! 🙂

Christine, if i miss this, do you think it’s similar to Golden Lemon pigment? Thanks!!

they aleeady had this line out My mac store today when I picked up my in the groove preorder.i already had going bananas so I got sky blue only.

Is it just MAC freestanding stores that let you pre-order…I will definitely not depend on my MAC counter girls at macy’s for this one…especially after the “SR incident” Maybe I will try to call a few locations around today to see about pre-ordering…

I am not too familiar with Mac pro but understand anyone can order over phone…are the consumer prices the same as regular Mac? I’m wondering if I should order the colors from pro to get the pans and save a few bucks…besides cost are there any advantages or disadvantages….I am usually one for convenience over cost but want to buy all the shadows so any way to save a few bucks on them

Thanks…I think I will get the permanent and pro colors in pan form and get the rest of the limited ones in the regular containers! That will save me like $21…That’s almost 2 more pan eyeshadows!!!

Let’s get this straight, shall we?

Marine Life – OMG I NEED THIS!!!

Stereo Rose – OMG I REALLY NEED THIS!!!1!!1!

Going Bananas – OMG I ****ING NEED THIS%&$#@*!!!1!!1!!!!1!!1!

Some gorgeous colours here, but why so many mattes? I’m with you, Christine – I like Veluxe Pearls best. There are still a few I’d like from this collection, including Going Bananas, but what’s the betting it comes out while I’m away on holiday and I miss it?

At first I thought I wanted a lot of things out of this collection, but after realizing that most of this collection is matte, and I hate MAC’s matte formula, I’m glad that I can skip a majority of this collection.

I’m probably just going to end up getting Going Bananas and Atlantic Blue. Actually, I probably won’t even get Atlantic Blue from this collection since there’s no new packaging. Shock-a-holic sounds interesting, but I’ll have to see it in person. I probably won’t end up getting that one either since I have MUFE #92 to use as a matte purple color.

A collection full of matte, satin, and frosty eyeshadows – Ill pass , Ill just get the lipglasses . Saves me money for fabulous felines & venomous villains

All I want is Going Bananas. I had it in my Manish palette, but gave that away since I hate using the shadow strips in those palettes.

So what sorts of hoops do you think I’ll have to jump through to get it, Christine? We’ve already found out that getting on MAC’s site ASAP doesn’t always work!

this s great, but I know that I will not use half these products once or even more than once. It’s fu to have crazy colors, but I will never use them. I think I’m going to get one lipglass, maybe two, and one eyeshadow:)

I need to skip this collection and concentrate on what I want to get in the permanent collection. Hopefully I can be strong when it comes out!

Might just get 2 going bananas, totally missed it with the Manish collection and I do NEED it :s This is terrible, I’m only 16 yet MAC have already got their grasp into me…I blame my mother.

i really like those lipglasses. are they sticky? i’ve never had one.

but the promotion picture of lady gaga.. looks like a man to me :/

I have to say… if this collection is inspired by Gaga, I’m disappointed! 8 out of 12 shadows are matte, which I’m just not feeling, but that’s my opinion. Anyway, I think that because Gaga is so major, this collection should be too. Her eyebrows are bold and daring, which I think they should’ve promoted in this collection. She’s all about eye liner and flashy colors — which they did feature a nice of array of shadow colors but I would’ve liked to have seen paint pots, shade sticks, pigments, and lipsticks. As far as lipsticks go, they should’ve repromoted Pink Nouveau, considering that’s what she frequently wore when she was younger and that’s what VG Gaga was actually based off of. I bet they could have made some fun nail polishes too. I don’t know… I just feel like IF this collection is dedicated to Gaga, then it’s only half the fun it should be!

YES!! BRIGHT COLORS!! Soo exciting. Quick question for you Christine- how does Going Bananas differ from Bright Future from Style Warrior collection from 2 years ago? I do have Bright Future and now wonder if I need to pick up Going Bananas if they are significantly different… Thanks in advance! 🙂

It’s not nearly as yellow – very different to me, IMO 🙂 Bright Future is very similar to Bright Sunshine.

Only a couple of the eyeshadows are calling to me (not a huge matte fan in general, but especially not MAC’s matte shades), but WOW, those Lip Glasses are gonna put me in the poorhouse 🙂

Wait christine so is this lady gagas collection?????!!!!!!! Omg im going to have a heart attack im going to get it all and then some!!!!

I *think* it’s more like Gaga inspired, rather than a Gaga collaboration. If it were a collaboration, they probably would’ve used her face in the promo picture and more importantly, they probably would’ve (or should’ve) done a full collection since she’s so spectacular =)

I think it’s more like MAC realized how much their products sold just because it had Gaga’s name on it, so they attached her name to the collection coming out, most likely to have anything to do with her…but I’m cynical like that.

I don’t think you’re being cynical, I agree! Unless… I’m cynical too (haha). If they really wanted to make a bang for their buck, they should’ve had a real Gaga collection rather than tying her name to a so-so collection.

I’ve been playing with a few of these out and they are so so pigmented they even stain you lips! The texture is like no other and the shimmer is superrrr fine! I’m very excited for this new finish!

does anyone know the measurement for the lipglasses, are they just long and skinny but have the same amount or is MAC putting less in those bottles. I never really liked the shape of MAC lipglasses but I think I like the short stubby ones better than these. I am really excited for the eyshadows tho, they’re all so pretty!

If I have crest the wave do I still need going bananas?? I might get it anyway because when I see you use it in videos it looks amazing and crest the wave isn’t intense enough for me hmm…

I think it’s better, personally… but it just depends. I like golden yellows – so Going Bananas is perfect for me.

I tried these on my lip this past wednesday,,,, And I Quote They R THE Bomb DOT COM……..) This lipglass”s r the best ever, u dont even need a liner with these just put it on and go,,,,, they r sooooooo long lasting just FAB), ITS GREAT BEING AND INSIDER)

July 29th! Good. I thought this one was earlier and since I didn’t see it I figured it was Nordstroms only. I am looking forward to seeing this one… the lipglasses are my colors I think.

YOU CAN ORDER THE EYE SHADOW AND LIPGLASS ALREADY AT MACYS ! I DONT KNOW WHY IT IS NOT OUT ON MAC.COM OR AT NORDSTROM BUT I JUST PLACED MY ORDER FOR MY GOING BANANAS EYE SHADOW ! I JUST WANTED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS , BECAUSE I DONT KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO BE SOLD EVERYWHERE ELSE!

Going Bananas…Must Have!!! I’ll have to swatch the other colors to check texture & pigmentation. I’m more of a neutral/smokey eye girl but sometimes a little pop of color can be a fun change! No lipglass for me I’m on Gloss-Out 2010.

just saw a vid on youtube from whatstyleistonickel and he reviewed some of the products for this collection that MAC sent him. and i just thought people would like to know that you get 6g of product in the lipgloss

I just got home from my MAC Counter, they have the Dare to Wear collection in stock. They just started presale. I swatched most of the products. I wasn’t even interested in purchasing lipgloss but these LE lipglasses are a different formula, super pigmented and the glitter is so beautiful! (Fine glitter, not chunky at all.)

since, there was no price listed for these new dare to wear lipglasses…i thought i would comment with the price…they are $18.00 each 🙂
If this has been mentioned already…i must have missed it…would not want to duplicate an answer 🙂

My local Mac Artist let me take a peek at this collection yesterday. I fell in love. Im getting the entire thing. The lip glasses are amaaaazzzziiinnnnnnnggg.

I’m really surprised there’s no lipsticks. I thought this collection would be like ridiculous colourful lipsticks like a bright blue or a weird green… fun unique stuff.

WELL IM REALLY GLAD I MET LAURA SHE WORKS IN THE GREENVILLE SC MAC COSMETICS STORE AND SHE IS HOLDING MY ITEMS FOR ME. VERY NICE AND VERY PRETTY GIRLZ WORK AT THE GREENVILLE MAC COSMETICS STORE AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. IM GLAD MAC HAS MAKE UP ARTIST THAT REALLY CARE FOR OTHERZ. IM HAVING MY BABY SOON AND I LIVE LIKE AN HOUR AWAY SO ITS HELPFUL TO FIND PEOPLE THAT DO CARE. IM GETTING LOUDER PLEASE,Going Bananas ,SASSY GRASS,SHOCK-A-HOLIC, Gimme That,SO BAD

Well! I already knew I would be skipping on the eye shadows in this collection. My drawers are already over flowing with fabulous stuff that gets no play! More eye shadows will just get lost in the shuffle.

BUT, the Lip Glasses became another story. I am spoiled! I have a good friend who works for MAC. She and several of the other artists I am friendly with, will let me play with stuff in the “closet” prior to release. So once I swatched the new Lip Glasses I was sold. I am not a lipstick girl & Dazzle Glasses by themselves don’t really cut it. But man, put on a coat of these new lippies and top it with a coordinating Dazzzleglass! It is LOVE! I bought Ban This!, Gimme That! & Wind Me Up! TIP: Funtabulous Dazzle over Ban This! It’s a heavenly match! Peace!

I LOVE SASSY GRASS , i am so glad i have it i wish i was permenant ! please make it permenant MAC ! how long does it take normally for mac to release a limited edition product from a past collection ?

They only re-release certain shades, and one can never predict what they will or when! I would go more with never than often, as the majority of products are only released once!
