They all look good enough to eat, juicy and bright. I hope they perform well.
I love the promo picture and the Asian-inspired names, but the creme sheen formula is too sheer and light for me. I prefer more opaque coverage
I like this kind of formula for nudish shades. For bright and dark colors, I prefer more opaque and matte finishes.
Wow it seems like they’re really expanding their permanent lipstick line this year, first leith the matte collection and now this. A lot of these shades are really up my alley too, but I don’t love the Cremesheen formula. At least they’re permanent so I have time to decide.
thank goodness they’re permeant !
Ooooo I am liking the lighter lipstick shades!
These are shades that I like, but I’ll wait to try them out in person.
Hello,
Are you sure about July 16th being the launch date for online…I have been on the website for an hour now and the lipsticks are not there?
The information I have is from MAC corporate, so that’s really all I know!
They are up now!
OMG yes! And permanent! Thank God. They are gorgeous colors. I love corals.
These look beautiful . I hope the updated Creamsheen formula performs better. I really like the kitschy names.Although I’m wondering if Japanese consumers may take offense. The look,in the promo pic is gorgeous. But, somehow ( good editing I am sure) Mac always seems to make the models lips and their faces for that matter completely lineless. Either that or she has 5 coats of lipglass sitting there waiting to run all over.
On a side note, Christine or anyone , I am on the hunt for a plain clear gloss to use as a topper. Any suggestions?I like high shine, no line settling! If it’s cheaper and works- great. But, I’m willing to shell out a bit more if it’s good stuff.I’ve been struggling with Nars and its finally almost gone. Thanks in advance for any help here.
I think Sephora has one in their Ultra Gel or whatever (lol) line, and that’s probably one of my favorite gloss lines now though I don’t have the clear one.
Good idea and relatively inexpensive and easy to return if it doesn’t play nice with lipstick under it! Thanks Christine
I’m so excited, creamsheen is my favorite formula! When do you think you’ll have swatches, Christine? <3
I don’t really care for any of these colors, but I would love that nail polish!
I don’t like the promo image with the pearls between her teeth. Obviously any gloss will do that, and I’m glad they didn’t photoshop it out, but this really shows the lipgloss getting into the texture of her lips, which contrasts against the smooth nails, pearls. Maybe they just shouldn’t have gotten that up close and personal with her lips??
When I saw the promo, I thought, “This is the first makeup promo that didn’t airbrush out the texture!” I can’t recall ever seeing a lip promo that didn’t show absolutely smooth-as-glass (or velvet) lips, unless it was for a crazy-glittery formula.
Totally fair point. I’m sure part of my initial reaction was just to the unfamiliarity.
First of all, the MAC Giambattista Valli is waaaaaaaayyyyyyy overhyped. I could find at 100 dupes for that collection. That collection was a waste of money and I’m glad I didn’t get anything. As for MAC Creamsheen Pearl, I love this collection. Wanna get at least 3
I do love pinks and corals, but I’ll have to see how these do. I don’t think I have any of the repromotes, so that makes me think there was just *something* about the formula that hasn’t appealed to me before.
Yay! Glad that these are in their permanent line.
These are the types of lipsticks I like the most: pink/coral and shiny. 😉
These actually look great!
I’ve never tried Cremesheens. The colors sure are pretty and summery.
Because I have a thing for gold infused reds, Sweet Sakura has my attention out of the entire bunch of these new lippys! It’ll be fun to see how all these new shades look swatched and worn. I do own 2 of the original Cremesheen with Pearl lipsticks, Pure Zen and Sunny Seoul, I love the latter one for a light pinky shade. Hopefully this lauch doesn’t have a lot of dupes of the originals….
I LOVE the idea of the pearl lipstick and can’t wait to see swatches. I’ll pass on the gloss because I’m guessing it’ll be super-sticky and uneven like many of their glosses, sadly. Did anybody else notice how even in the promo picture, which is undoubtedly photoshopped, you can see the gloss settling into lip lines?
One thing though…I wish MAC would have been a little more thoughtful with the names. It’s fine to be inspired by other cultures, that’s a great thing and it’s important to art – but they could have gotten rid of Asian stereotypes like “Pretty Boy” and “Little Buddha.” Surely they’ve got enough creative people at MAC who could have thought of something else?
I agree. It’s 2015, we should be over this kind of thing. if you’re really inspired by Asia–although to me this looks like it’s strictly Japanese–the continent is big enough to provide inspiration for a dozen collections without resorting to stereotypes.
I actually really like the first impression of this collection…we’ll see how it translates. 🙂
