MAC Cosmetics Fashion Week Spring 2009 Breakdowns for Day 5

We have three breakdowns straight from the amazing artists at MAC HQ from Day 5 of Fashion Week! Can you spot some new products?

“A monochromatic, couture face. The look is inspired by the man who fell to earth, david bowie, a mixture of technology and nature.” – James Kaliardos

Eyes: OJ mac pro lip pencil – used to draw around the outer corner of the eye to create a “c” shape, hugging the eye. Acid Orange mac pro pigment – blended on top of the pencil
around the outer corner of the eye. Pearl cream colour base – patted on to hug the inner
corner of the eye.

Face: Sculpt and Shape foundation – sheered out with moisturizer and applied in a shade paler than natural skin tone. Fun and Games powder blush – applied high on the cheekbone. Pearl cream colour base – swept across the top of the cheekbone as a highlight.

Lips: Pale mac pro Lip Erase – tapped around the edges of the lips to soften the lip line. Dusty Coral mac pro paint stick – pushed into the lips.

“The look is sensual, inspired by David Hamilton, the movie “Bilitis” and at the same time fresh and modern.” – Tom Pecheux

Eyes: Omega or coquette eye shadow – brushed on to define natural brow. Concrete eye shadow – blended into the crease of the eye, lower lash line and pulled out toward the temple to elongate the eye.

Face: Blonde mineralize skinfinish mixed with pinkberry eye shadow – to highlight the cheekbones. Paradisco eye shadow mixed with fun and games powder blush – brushed along the cheekbones, chin and nose.

Lips: Yogurt and Paradisco eye shadows – pressed onto the lips.

“The look has a chic 70’s/80’s jet-set feeling, but it’s not retro perfected neat makeup, it’s a little bit more smudged which makes it modern.” – Tom Pecheux

Eyes: Carbon and Lucky Tom eye shadow – blended sheer over the lid and wrapped around the eye. Reflects Antique Gold mac pro glitter and Silver Dusk iridescent/loose powder – layered on top of eye shadow on lid and swept along outer and inner corners of the eye. Coffee eye pencil – drawn along water line. Boot Black liquid liner – applied along top and bottom lash lines, then smudged. Clear Brow Set – used to comb brows.

Face: Fun and Games blush with Light Flush mineralize skinfinish – blended onto cheeks.  Silver Dusk iridescent/loose powder – touched onto cheekbones. Matte Bronze bronzing powder – to contour cheekbones.

Lips: Not So Shy lip stain – pressed onto lips.

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

It sounds like MAC is releasing MSFs named after hair colour? Redhead, blonde, etc…

Another question is – isn’t Tom Pecheux formerly from Shiseido??

Hello, I saw that for the Derek Lam show an eyeshadow called “pinkberry” was used…I can’t find it anywhere! Do you know if it is yet to be released? How can I find it? Thanks!
