A Fafi girl is a nymphette with a Ph.D. in passion — she’s an adventuress with a very animated love life! From Toulouse to Tokyo, the movie of her life is a rags-to-riches love story, an electric Technicolor dream in violet, coral and strawbaby anime. I absolutely love the colors. I am looking forward to going to MAC this weekend and buying a crap-load of MAC!

P.S. I absolutely loveeeeee this site and have added it to my blogroll.

I’m so effin excited about this collection, I normally ignore them as MAC are producing 50 a second at the moment but this one looks too cute not to buy a couple of things!

I went to check out the collection today and only left with Totally It lipgloss. Any tips on what else to pick up for a NW15 with brown hair and hazel eyes? What do you think is a must have? Based on your photos I am considering Strawbaby, Cashflow and Flash n Dash.

I think Fun ‘n’ Sexy is the real sleeper beauty of the line. Its hard to describe, but its a subtly-bright (hello oxymoron? lol) pink that almost glows on my lips. Its so unique that I’m making it my first double purchaced lipstick.

Hey Jamie! I’m a NC15 with hazel eyes and brown hair. I’d consider looking at Nice Vice paintpot since purples look sublime against hazel eyes.

I was so excited to go to the mac counter to day. I planned to buy a couple of things from Fafi collection and ended up buying none. I still bought 4 products from mac but I didn’t like anything from Fafi. Such a disappointment, Fun ‘n’ Sexy looked interesting but too bright for my taste.

I went and saw the collection today and walked out with only 2 Paint Pots.
I got Cash Flow and Nice Vice. When I finally get the lid off of Nice Vice I’ll let you know how I like it.

To me this collection was GLITTER-O-RAMA, which is a shame because I think I really would have enjoyed the lipsticks sans blue/rainbow/whatever glitter.

The IPPs were Glitter City as well, but I expected that.

The Good points: not as much of the art was stickers as I imagined. The blushes are worth a look by everyone. They’re ery low on the shimmer factor and I think would appeal to MAC lovers in general. I passed on the blushes though because I think I’m buying a lot of the Beauty Powder Blushes.

Sorry I’m a glitter hater, i’m just old.

i feel the same as you aprilrobin. i think the collection is really for the younger ladies. i went in today and didn’t get anything from fafi. i wanted to at least get a l/s or l/g but i hestitated because the stickers on the testers were already wearing off coz they were paper stickers. at least the packaging for the blushes and powders were nice and the paintpots were nice as well. the colors from the originals and n collection got more of my attention as fafi’s was more chunky glitter but i was hoping that at least the packaging would convince me to get something. i didn’t go home empty handed, i got a 252 brush and the new viva glam VI limited edition. it shows up like a soft lavender pink on me, it’s pretty.

I passed on the entire collection. I went there planning to get at least 1 lippie and maybe 3-4 paint pots. I walked out with NOTHING. The paint pots weren’t catching my eye, I wanted Rollickin’ but my store counter didn’t get it in! I guess that’s a good thing, more money to save for Heatherette.

i think we all know it was targeted for the younger ladies and even though i know the packaging was stickers, i was counting on the colors. i actually like the barbie collection, i got quite a few stuff from that collection. one of the best ones were the beauty powders which i am hoping from heatherette. i think i know now the difference between IPP and beautypowders, i like the nice sheen because you can’t really wear glitter to work. for me personally, color comes first and then packaging. and heatherette’s packaging, although it’s pink at least you know they put an effort on the packaging which is why i’m getting a lipstick. i mean, the lipstick is a mac collectors item. but i’m glad the younger ladies are pleased with the collection, not every collection is for everybody.

Hey Victoria! I think the line offers something for older women (like the lipsticks, glosses, and many of the paint pots are more matte in texture), but I agree, there’s always someone who doesn’t like the launch, and that’s just fine 🙂

victoria Avatar

yeah you’re right, i actually liked the blushes and i love the packaging on the ipp(seriously) but you know with mac coming out with so many launches and choices, i tend to get more picky. looking forward for more of your reviews.

Aprilrobin Avatar

Oy oy oy! Sorry if I offended anyone with the glitter comments! It isn’t unusal for women as they get older to not be so much into glitter anymore. It is, in fact, very common. Heck, some younger gals don’t care for it either. If anyone wants to rock the glitter, that’s great though.

Obviously we have a few readers on this forum that avoid glitter for various reasons and they may be glad to have this information before they pace an order.

You don’t have to LOVE every collection to be a MAC fan. It’s just makeup, nobody should take it personally. It isn’t an attack on MAC, this blog or any reader if someone thinks a collection is not so hot.

Where on Earth were you Christine when we needed your assistance most? I cannot believe that somebody would come on here and verbally assault you beautiful women!!! I’m literally, shocked and disgusted…I want to vomit. And on top of all, the audacity to criticize people for their interestingly unique makeup tastes. If I want to wear clown paint, then you better respect me for that! Rock on Christine, you tell em! I wouldn’t dare to even dream of criticizing anybody ever because we’re all angels in this temptalia heaven. Way to stand your ground and erase Christine!!! *HIGH FIVE*

AprilRobin, you could never offend anyone with that sweet name darling. If you don’t like glitter, that’s okay hun, you go on and do whatever makes you feel good. I personally could wear nothing but glitter but that’s a different story. I love glitter pots and I bought all four from the originals collection and I ain’t no spring chicken either. I can’t wait to post my new pictures of my new look. Glitter is something for the bold and kind at heart. It’s allright dearey!

Carrie Avatar

I was surprised with this one! I expected to get Cash Flow and that’s it. Instead I also ended up with Belightful (yeah it’s perm but I like the stickers!), the more colorful quad, and the crazy bright pink blush…which, if applied lightly, is really really nice.

This really shocked me, as I am almost 31 (not old, but still…)and have a hatred of glitter. WHY did I love these glittery things? I dunno! I just thought they were really fun and workable products.

Pearl Avatar

I’m a 55 year old woman and I splurged and bought the entire collection of Fafi. I wanted to be able to go home and set up my own Fafi display in my vanity area. I’ve been wearing a new color everyday and it’s all amazing and wondrous! I couldn’t be a happier broad! Thanks to Christine and her picture perfect swatches, I decided to buy it all. I feel like a new woman! Thanks Christine! You can never be too old to improve your look, right girls? My husband can’t keep his hands off me…I look 30 years younger now!

Nes Avatar

Hi Christine!

I’m lovin the Fafi eye quad #2, but I’m wondering how I should layer the colors…any tips, suggestions?

Thanks!
