Fleur Real looks like it’d work on my skintone, and I’ve been into the true candy pinks like Wagasa Twirl lately, but… this collection as a whole looks… just………. Makeup 101. Like, who out there is like, “You know what would set a collection apart and make me want to snap up the whole thing? A neutral eyeshadow palette! With pinkish lip options!”

Well, the packaging’s cute, anyway. If I didn’t have several suspected dupes for Framboise Moi, that would appeal to me, too, maybe. Oh, well.

Interesting idea! The palette somewhat reminds me of the Colourpop “She” palette– the warm, rosy tones are probably what’s doing it. I like the lipglosses a lot, but I already have Heavy Petal from PMG, so I’ll pass on Cherry Mochi. Will likely buy Heartmelter, provided that it scores well, since it’s unlike anything in my current makeup collection.

I’m sure you mean the “You Had Me At Hello” or “Give It To Me Straight” palettes… “She” had more peach, burgundy & purple tones.

Tokyo Drifter, Kabuki Doll, Kyoto Kitty, Making Muavey, and Dust Off actually remind me of many of the shades in the She palette– plus, the packaging (pink pan) is another reminder! I remember ultimately being disappointed by She because it seemed more purple in the pan than it actually was in practice.

Because the packaging on these is just STUNNING, I know that I will be getting at least one item. I was originally aiming for one of the two cheek products. However, these appear very different from what I’ve seen up till now. How very weird!

On the up side, Hi-Fructease looks to be a just right lighter pink for me! Really love that one in particular. Plus, Heartmelter Lipglass is lovely!

Hi Nancy, I’ve read that the purple area of the Pink cheek highlight powder is a very thin overspray that disappears quickly. I was hoping that the purple shade went all the way through the powder.

Hm, not sure this is impressing me – cute packaging, but I need more than that. I clicked into the Fleur Real swatch because it looked like it should be a blush but the swatch looks like a highlighter. Then it looks like there is a picture in the Fleur Real review that shows the top layer (purpley/pink on the bottom portion) just scrapes off and it looks like a basic pink powder underneath? Weird. The eyeshadow palette looks like a CP nine pan one (layout and color scheme). One lipstick and one lip gloss are looking very pretty to me and like something I’d wear so I am interested in the review on their performance.

Love the packaging. Wonder if the Cherry MAC Fix + smells like cough syrup? It’s a no on the palette and blushes, a maybe on the lipstick High Fructease. I love Framboise Moi but I am sure I will have a million dupes. I guess I will have to decide if the packaging is worth the cost of the product, unless something turns out to be unique, which I doubt from the swatches.

I believe Kabuki makeup simply uses white, red, blue, or black. I feel like maybe MAC should have used something else Japanese-related to suggest Japanese cherry blossoms, instead of a cultural art form that evokes a particular color scheme? Heartmelter looks the nicest to me, but the swatches look like it might emphasize lip lines.

Another great collection, should please the folks who want a better mix of mattes and shimmers than the NARS spring collection. But the pinks… I think they’re a couple of weeks too late for Valentine’s Day!

And fortune cookies were invented in America.

In actuality, the story of fortune cookies is complicated, and very American. They’re very identical to Japanese senbei. Also, if I remember an article I once read (or was it a tv show or YouTube video?) fortune cookies were actually invented by a Japanese senbei maker in the US who sold them to Chinese restaurants. I’m not sure that Chinese in China really have a thing like the fortune cookies in America and other Western countries, unless they made their way to China via Westerners.

I live in Hawaii and most of the fortune cookie makers are actually Japanese senbei companies.

The packaging is so beautiful but overspray is such a cheap trick. I thought the pearly highlighters looked pretty but if they’re just overspray, I’m going to pass. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the packaging. Too bad the contents seem to fall short, but I guess it will help my budget if I don’t “need” to have these.

I’m gutted that I can’t add a dupe to Hey, Kiss Me! because the shade is IDENTICAL to Viva Glam Gaga (which I bought a million years ago and have been looking for a dupe ever since).
The only difference between these two is that the Gaga one is more transparent. Other than that, I could not tell the difference on my lips.
And yes, I was disgusting and tried years old lipstick on.
