This shade of lipstick is not for my skintone. But~ I have seen this worn by beautiful AA women and I tell you what they can rock this like nobodies business. It is a-m-a-z-i-n-g on the right skintone and looks regal. I might pick this up for a very good friend of mine for a stocking stuffer for her. She could rock this.

Hi Christine!I love your blog!Do you know if there are any codes to get discounts on MAC?What is your favorite Mac lipstick and brush?Do you know when there will be new brushes or limited edition brushes again?I am not really in to the new one by Gareth Pugh =/.Sorry for so many questions!

I saw your swatches for this from Style Black, and it looks god awful D: I think maybe Cremesheen was a bad choice of finish; if they had made it matte or an amplified cream, it probably would’ve worked out way better. I think Make Up For Ever definitely does a better black!

Whoa, I’d be all over this…except…I actually found Black Knight at a CCO near the beach this past summer. It’s cool to have but I honestly have no idea when I’m going to wear it.

Courtney Avatar

Dang it! Black Knight is the only product from Style Black that I’m not dying to have come back. Id’ much rather have the mattenne…or the black glosses! Poo…

agreed. i don’t even wanna touch my blackfire cause i never ever want to run out of it..and i wish i would have gotten back ups of young punk. that’s honestly the last mac collection that i was absolutely in love with and thought was worthwhile.

I love the shine on this black, but I get frustrated that it isn’t opaque enough. I have to completely fill in my lips with a dark liner or it looks patchy. On the other hand, I do wear it occasionally for nights out, despite being a very fair-skinned lady. I like the contrast.

I had a tube of Black Knight once and swapped it. It was a good, creamy formula but not pigmented enough for me. There are sheerer products out there from Poppy King(Black Tie, I think?) and Urban Decay(OIl Slick) for people who want to experiment with black. There are also more pigmented blacks out there like the OCC Lip Tar (of course). I actually found that Sugarpill’s Stella loose eyeshadow makes a stunning black when mixed with gloss. But then again, this is more of a MAC collector’s thing, isn’t it?

I love black lips, but this isn’t even a good black lipstick. I would’ve been more excited if they just re-released the entire style black collection for a day. Or at least the black gloss to go with the lipstick.

I never got this lipstick, though I really looked forward to it when Style Black came out. But I already had a black full coverage foundation from MAC Pro!!! It is really easy to do black lips with it!!! 😀

I wish it was more opaque, else I’d go for it. :-/ Black lipstick is when of those colors that strikes me as a go bold or go home kind of deal. When it’s sheer, it just looks odd to me.

I’m a fan of the color black, however its not my all time favorite color. The color black normally goes with everything but im not sure if it would go with everthing when its on a person’s lips. There are girls who can pull it off ( im not one of them) but where and when would they wear it? Also I to thought for a moment Mac was having a sale but then i realized, yea right Mac having a sale. lol They are way to expensive to have a sale, to them it would be practically giving stuff away for free.

Well, I’m super excited! This looks a bit sheer, but I’m sure it’ll be great for layering over dryer, more opaque black lipsticks. I’ll definitely be picking this up 🙂

I remember buying Gilt by Association and the sales associate trying to get me to buy this too. I bet it rocks on some, but I work in an office, have two kids…where would I wear this? LOL! I think it can be used to darken lipsticks and glosses that are too light, however.

UPS just delivered my Black Knight lipstick, and I tried it on by itself as well as layered with several different colors. It’s an interesting lipstick. VERY dramatic on it’s own, but mixed with other colors you can make a bright color more dramatic. I think it was worth the $14.50 to be able to create a lot of different shades from what I already own. A must-have for clubs/concerts.

I agree. Forgot to comment on this earlier! I have 2 tubes as I had to have another when they brought this back. So excellent when used as a liner and filled in with whatever you like. You can create so many looks! I’ve gotten tons of compliments on the different looks. People almost hit the floor when they find out black lipstick is involved!
