Beautiful packaging! Since I’m very into vintage looking things, I will pick up something from this collection. The lipgloss and lipstick colors are right up my alley! 🙂 The clutch wasn’t what I was expecting, though. It’s very simple and kinda throws everything off. 🙁

what omg :/ now i have to buy this smh im going broke on mac lol j/k i love it sooo yeah i will be buying these .thanks for the info

This is probably one of my favourite MAC Couture collect thus far, but it is so expensive and I bought so much from MAC this year already. I would love to pick up a compact but I would probably only get one of the lipsticks. Either Prive or Treasured.

cmferrets Avatar

me either! i think all of this is wayyy out of my mac price range! even thought the packaging it beautiful, it looks like the same colors that have come out earliuer this year.

Nic Avatar

I didn’t expect to be impressed by this collection, but now I’m thinking I may be interested. Will definitely wait for lip swatches to see if it’s worth it, but the packaging does look lovely.

Jamie Avatar

I absolutely love the packaging! So far, I thinking about picking up at least 2 of the lipsticks, but my final decision will be after you post your pictures/opinions of the product. Everything else in the collection is horribly overpriced.

Miss_M Avatar

The packaging is so gorgeous, it’s just too pretty to use !!

Love the sound of Prive and Lap of Luxery. The powder is also lovely, but that’s probably going to be E60,- euros in Europe, which I think is a little too expensive.

Tracey Avatar

I agree as well. Being an NW45, it does infuriate me when MAC creates beauty/mystery powders and they neglect the darker skin tones. I wish the artistic directors would show us some love with these as well.

Christy Avatar

I love the compact!! The damask print on the compact is just like the stencil I did all over my bathroom. I want everything, except the clutch. 😉 I don’t think the clutch is worth it.

NaNa Avatar

That mystery powder compact just calls to me… ;___; I might be seduced into buying everything just for the packaging! Ugh… maybe when swatches come out I’ll calm down.

Jennifer Avatar

I agree, the mystery powders call me, but I thought I was the only one that felt as though my powder disappeared so quickly in the last mystery powder released. However, my friend and I are sitting here together and she said “Yours did too?” So, I just wish they had more product inside. Small circle inside the compact, but they look so so beautiful.

laura Avatar

that lipgloss packaging is amazing! I wish limited edition things like this would be refillable or have the caps of the glosses be interchangeable so you can spice up your usual colors when these are finished!

Paula Avatar

Even on the website, the two lipsticks have almost the same description:

Lipstick, Creme Cup
Shade description: Light blue pink (Cremesheen)

Baroque Boudoir Lipstick, Privé
Shade description: Creamy light blue pink (Cremesheen)

I originally fell in love with Privé but they were sold out. So I went through all their regular lipstick color to try to find something similar, and found Creme Cup for about ten bucks cheaper for the same amount of product.

I still love their packaging for this collection though. So maybe I’ll get just one lip gloss. Preciousness seems really pretty.

aksaiyo Avatar

beautiful packaging, will get a gloss for sure
Which one do you suppose is the peachy one? the descriptions are all pink…. and which gloss is the one in the top picture???
thanks a lot!

Stunning packaging!! I love Mac formulas anyway…I’d love to have one of each! My favs are Baroque Boudoir l/s, Preciousness l/g and Lt/Med Compact!! Good for holiday gifts too!

jenn Avatar

I’m still so mad about the lack of coordinating brushes for this collection 🙁
Ugh, that bag is so ugly…tell me they thought they’d sell more crappy bags instead of luxe brushes. Bad choice MAC!!!

Tracy Avatar

So pretty – but we don’t have a MAC Pro or free standing store around here – and I would want to swatch…. I can’t wait to see your swatches – I could always change my mind.

My-Linh Avatar

The packaging is amazing! So incredibly beautiful, but definitely out of my price range. Maybe I’ll wait until finding it at one of my CCOs? It’ll depend on your trusty swatches though of course (and my own when I have a chance) 🙂

Jennifer Avatar

The packaging looks so beautiful. I would love to have a couple lipsticks and glosses for my collection. The mystery powder is too expensive for it to disappear so quickly. If you look at it, it is very small in diameter, then within about fifteen uses I started to hit pan. For the cost, I should have just used it as a mirror only. This is so feminine.

Traci Avatar

I’m going to get pretty much everything! I’m saving all my money for this collection! I do have one question though, what do you do with the lipstick and lipgloss tubes once they’re finished? They’re too pretty to throw away, but what I can’t let a product just sit there, I have to use it.

Sofia Avatar

Wow those prices are such a rip-off. Nothing looks unique either. What happened when limited edition mac stuff used to be the same price? That clutch looks like a body bag. An easy pass for me.

Brittany Avatar

this has seriously depressed me!

i want all 6 of the lip items. The packaging alone…OMG. They look like the perfect pink, berry and nude lip combos. I must get atleast one, but what?! I cant decide. WHY MAC, WHY!!??

Deirdre Avatar

I am not giving into the packaging. I have the sheer mystery power from hello kitty that I have not used. I also have it from the stylistc collection, so not getting this one. The rest, how many pink lipglosses can I have??

Nik Nasty Avatar

First of all, the design on the packaging for this collection looks SO unoriginal and CHEAP. That same design has been used on all different products from ALL different brands/companies, including Old Navy, GAP, Hallmark, Papyrus, etc!!! It’s just a pretty filigree chandelier looking design. It’s probably just cheap aluminum. And they say ” You’re paying for the quality…” I would think $15 for a lipstick and $30 for pressed powder would be a high enough price for good quality… I love all the lipsticks/lipglasses/pressed powders I have already purchased from the permanent collection. I guess I just prefer the original chic black packaging to this boring unoriginal look MAC is totally over-charging for. And the clutch. R U 4 REAL!?!? Omgggg I’d much rather spend that money om a CUTE evening clutch from Nordstrom or something… One that doesnt look like a crumpled up trash bag that I just used to pick up my puppy’s turds. I really do expect more from MAC. twitter.com/niknasty

Thanks for this review. They’re hard to come by this early into release. I’ve already ordered two Privé l/s (I know that color will sell out fast), one Baroque Boudoir l/s and one D’Nouveau l/g. Does anyone find it disturbing that I already know the spelling/names of every color?! I. am. insane.

I don’t know how I can pass on that compact. Oh my Gawd! I could see pressing a lip gloss/stick into the center of the compact after the powders (remember there is a refill) have been used up. I just don’t know what color is most appropriate for my skin type. I wear Esteé Lauder foundation because it doesn’t have SPF (allergic), and I use the lightest shade, but right now I’m a little orange looking because I’ve been eating so much butternut squash. LOL! This, too, shall pass however.

I WANT that compact!

ROFL at the comment about the bag looking like a trash bag. It is fugly, isn’t it?!
