L'Oreal Highlighter, Green Ivy, Silver Sky Infallible Silkissime Eyeliners Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)
L’Oreal Highlighter (230) Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner
L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner ($8.99 for 0.03 oz.) is described as a long-wearing, smudge-proof formula that will glide on smoothly and last for 16 hours You can see the first three I reviewed here. I’m quite fond of this formula overall, but that wear claim is substantial and these just don’t make it even close to it–the best wear I get is about ten hours. There is still visible eyeliner on after as long as fourteen hours, but it’s much, much thinner and less vibrant. The color payoff and glide-on consistency are the most impressive aspects of the formula, even with their brighter, more colorful shades.
L’Oreal Highlighter (230) Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner ($8.99 for 0.03 oz.) is a pink-peach with a frosted sheen. It had good color payoff in a single stroke and remains that way even if layered. It wears nine hours on me, though that’s not the full 16-hours as marketed. The consistency is creamy, easy to apply, and doesn’t tug on the lash line. Marc Jacobs Beauty Obey-ge (66) (P, $25.00) is more sparkly. Tarina Tarantino Broken Doll (P, $15.00) is pinker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
L’Oreal Green Ivy (270) Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner ($8.99 for 0.03 oz.) is a medium-dark, olive green with warm undertones and a golden shimmer-sheen. It had mostly opaque color coverage in a single pass. This one I had to be careful applying, as too much layering seemed cause uneven application, but it is quite pigmented in one go, so it isn’t necessary. The consistency is lightly creamy and glides right on. It lasted for nine and a half hours on me before thinning down. Marc Jacobs Beauty O(vert) (56) (P, $25.00) is cooler-toned. Sephora Collection Snakeskin Dress (17) (P, $9.00) is lighter. MAC Forever Green (P, $16.00) is lighter. bareMinerals 10AM (LE, $15.00) is warmer, browner. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
L’Oreal Silver Sky (290) Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner ($8.99 for 0.03 oz.) is a brightened, sparkling silver. It had semi-opaque color coverage in one pass, but it was never fully opaque no matter the layers. This was my least favorite out of the six I’ve tried (I hope to buy the others when I see them on sale). It glided on, but it had more texture due to the sparkles in it. It wore well for eight hours. Urban Decay Cuff (P, $19.00) is very similar. MAC Silver Skates (LE, $16.00) is lighter, less sparkly. Bobbi Brown Chrome (LE, $24.00) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Totally loving highlighter!
Yay!
I’m so curious about the highlighter shade…sounds like great wear for such a light color!!! I’ve picked it up & put it down several times…. It looks so pretty swatched, but I worry that, because I’m so pale, it would make me look like I have pink eye…would love to hear if anyone else fair & cool-toned has tried this!!
It’s very brightening, so I don’t think it would make you look like you had pink eye! (A darker pink with a more red tone to it might.)
I wear it often and even in my waterline it isn’t pink or dark enough to make me look ill, and I am very pale. I love it! It’s a very, very similar shade to the UD sin eyeshadow pencil.
I’m fair and cool toned, and it’s definitely pea chief on me. The metallic shading keeps it from going pinkish.
Oh these look/sound great! especially 230 should be good for the inner corners I think
I agree!
Well that’s settled, I’m buying Green Ivy!
Yay! 😀
Highlighter is really pretty! 🙂
It is!
I have Highlighter (230) and I love it but not so much on the waterline/ ;( It VERY similar to UD Sin shade on my fair skin (but Sin is darker). I wish tthe rest of the shades came to Canada because we only have 4-5 of them up here. lol
Does it irritate your water line or just not wear well there?
Yes they don’t wear well but I in general can’t get to many gel liners to work on my waterline (MAC Chromaline being the exception). And tight linling even less soo. lol
Gotcha! ;D
I just bought the green one but I found it a little stiff (maybe it just needs to break in a bit). However I really love the color and it stays on well. When I came out of the shower it was still there, with just a little bit of running under the eyes. The pink one is so pretty, I just don’t know what I’d use it for. I wouldn’t bother with it on the waterline. Maybe an eye shadow base.
I hope it softens a bit, but at least the wear is good!
Highlighter and Green Ivy are very beautiful!
Glad ya liked ’em, Natalie! 🙂
Absolutely love the Highlighter and Green Ivy shades! Question- did you have any issues sharpening these? My eyeliner sharpener from Ulta completely eats mine up (I have Plum), but not sure if that’s an issue common with all shades.
Nope, no issues at all! I use Urban Decay’s Grindhouse and haven’t had any issues. I had read some reviews where it said this was a concern, so I made sure to pay extra attention when I was sharpening!
Beautiful! I have these in Purple, Plum and Cobalt so far, and I’m really loving them. I managed to track down the other colors and order them. Highlighter is sooooo pretty.
Woohoo! Glad you were able to snag the rest!
Thanks; me, too! They arrived today. I don’t know why the stores that carry them just don’t carry all the colors, instead of 3-5, so you have to go looking all over town.
I love Highlighter and Green Ivy! Such beautiful colors!
Glad ya liked ’em, Fancie!
Also going to join the ooing and aahing over highlighter! I’ve been looking for something similar and think with this price point it’ll be picked up as soon as I can find it!
YAY!
Green Ivy looks an awful lot like Green Flash from the old HiP line… love L’Oréal, but it seems they just recycle their old formulas, and rename them.
That’s good to know!
Green Ivy looks beautiful! Will you be reviewing the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomades?
Sorry, I don’t have that!
I absolutely *LOVE* the Highlighter shade. I bought it on Friday and wore it on Sunday in my inner eye and it applied so nicely and looked GORGEOUS!!! I usually don’t use drugstore brand eyeliner, but this one SOLD ME all the way…….
Nice!!
Christine, how would you compare Highlighter to Sephora’s Girl Talk? Thanks!
Sorry, I don’t think I have that shade!
I really like Highlighter!
These are so beautiful, I can’t wait for them to be released where I live! I especially love the shade ‘Highlighter’.
Hope they arrive soon for ya!
Green Ivy is such a stunning shade! At this price point, I am definitely considering picking it up.
Especially since they do go on sale!
I’ve actually been looking for a highlighter type shade! For someone who owns… a lot of coloured eyeliners, something to brighten the waterline has thus far eluded me. I realise a matte might be better for that, but having an inner corner highlight in precision pencil form would be quite handy!
Green ivy is *beautiful*. It looks like golden green velvet – gah! Your handy swatch comparator tells me that it’s also quite different from Stash, which is currently the goldeny/greeny/khaki-est liner I own – JUSTIFICATION! 😀
(now I just have to pray that these are available in NZ)
I thought Stash would be closer, but it is a lot browner!
Loving the highlighter!
Yay!
I really want to get the highlighter shade! And that green shade is different and eye-catching.
They’re both great shades!
These look really beautiful and for the price- fantastic. I think that peachy-pink would suit a lot of girls. I love the ivy green colour. I think I will be getting some of these…
I like that it isn’t stark white or totally champagne!
Highlighter looks gorgeous — I really like that it doesn’t have sparkle, just a frosted sheen!
Me too! 😀
I wonder just how long we will wait for these in Australia LOL! And very often (read: almost ALWAYS) we don’t get all the shades of a formula either (I will CRY if Highlighter doesn’t make it here!!).
I hope it does!!
I HAD A LOOK ONLINE and it looks like we’ve only got the black and brown! *tantrum*
Green Envy is gorgeous!! I wish these would launch in Asia!
I hope they do, Ankita!
Loving the green one – for sure I’ll get that and, like so many others, probably Highlighter (to replace my UD Sin pencil which is so hard to use and unblendable…even when it was new, it was like this, as were all the 24/7 shadow pencils…no wonder they were eventually discontinued).
Can’t wait to hear your take on them, Mariella!
Green Ivy is so pretty!
It is!
I have four shades like Highlighter and I’m still wanting highlighter. Makeup addiction much ?:s Greeny envy really is gorgeous though – cant think of any other drugstore brand that has a similar shade!
Which shades do you have that are like Highlighter, Dee?
green ivy is totally up my alley. gonna have to get it!
I got the Green Ivy one last week after reading your review of the other shades. I was trying to branch out a bit from my usual browns and blacks in eyeliners. I would absolutely agree with your review. The color was good, the texture is nice, it only lasted about 10 hours before there was a notable difference, but overall I would buy the other shades and intend to do so. I was really impressed with this, and have worn it several times already with no complaints. Of course, I rarely need makeup to last more than 8 or 9 hours, so the longevity isn’t really an issue and the color was great. Thanks for reviewing these!
These are some of the best things at drugstores.. I don’t like the silver one, though. It’s too steely for me. 🙂
