L'Oreal Gleaming Plum & Splendid Blackberry Colour Riche Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Gleaming Plum
L’Oreal Gleaming Plum Colour Riche Shine Lipstick ($9.99 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium-dark berry with subtle, cool undertones and a soft, pearly sheen. It had sheer coverage, which did not build up well, though it at least applied more evenly than Splendid Blackberry! The lipstick had a smooth, balmy consistency that was thin but not clingy. This shade lasted for three hours, stained very faintly, and was somewhat moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview
$9.99/0.1 oz. - $99.90 Per Ounce
The formula is described as "an ultra-rich, ultra-radiant lipstick with a glossy finish and comfortable wear." Per the brand, "in just one stroke," you'll get "rich color pay-off" with a "hydrating and lasting shine." The pigmentation varied from shade to shade but was generally medium to semi-opaque, often buildable to semi-opaque to opaque coverage. The texture was moderately emollient with noticeable slip, balminess, and felt lightweight on the lips.
Most of the shades did not emphasize the texture of my lips and didn't settle much into my lip lines (glossier, more slippery formulas often do!). The shades lasted between three and five hours with deeper/richer hues lasting longer and leaving very faint stains behind. I found the formula to be lightly hydrating over time and comfortable to wear. They had a sweet, fruity scent but no discernible taste.

Splendid Blackberry
L’Oreal Splendid Blackberry Colour Riche Shine Lipstick ($9.99 for 0.10 oz.) is a deep purple with subtle, cool undertones and a natural sheen. It had sheer coverage, so the color ended up looking warmer on me due to my natural lip color coming through more noticeably. The texture was more slippery, too, so it slid around a bit too fluidly during application. It did not apply evenly and spidered across my lip lines in every direction. The color lasted for three hours, left a faint stain behind, but was lightly hydrating over time.

Well, that’s too bad. The shades could have been gorgeous!
I know, right?? So sad!
I literally gasped when I saw Gleaming Plum and then I saw the rating and groaned. I’m so sad by this rating, but I’ll try to grab one of the dupes, even though they’re all 2-3x more expensive.
It’s a tough finish to do in this hue!
Oh these look so pretty in the package and then BOOM garbage!! For $10 I’d expect a little longer than 3 hrs at least. L’Oreal is always a hit or miss with me.
At least they go on sale!
These are so bad it’s not even funny. I remember Emily Noel didn’t much care for these 2 darker shades either. They’re way too uneven in application. Especially for such rich deep shades.
Wish these didn’t fall victim to the plight of deep, glossy hues!
I like Gleaming Plum, and even though sheer formula’s don’t last as long, I’m finding they wear more evenly on my lips, and I can apply them without a mirror which is great for quick touch ups.
Glad you are enjoying it!
Beautiful shades, so I wish they were much better quality.
I don’t see anything bad with those, except for them being sheer (which is absolutely fine with me, there are way too many full-coverage shades on the market). And as for the color settling into lip lines – I love it too. And they’re also moisturizing?! Not sure I’d want to grab it right away, but if they’re on sale because people don’t like them for aforementioned reasons – I’ll definitely get them!
The problem is L’Oreal didn’t describe them as sheer — as always, I rate products based on what it’s supposed to do. Please read “Formula Overview,” which includes how the brand describes the formula as well as my overall experience with the range.
Oh dear, the photo from a distance looks nice but I can see the problem in the close ups. I do have Splendid Blackberry and didn’t notice it doing that but either I didn’t look close enough or I used such a sheer amount it didn’t show. I also use this shade a lot with a lip pencil underneath so that could be a factor. I don’t have the plum shade but won’t pick it up with its issues.
? Unbrake my heart Lol! ? So sad love especially love the plum but blackberry also. They look great in you.
WetnWild has a new shade similar to this on line looks beautiful!
