New for summer, LORAC has released their Light Source Illuminating Highlighter in four shades (reviews to come for all shades). The formula is supposed to be buildable for both a “soft, natural sheen” or “layered for a high-shine, dramatic effect.” Moonlight had medium, buildable coverage that could easily be sheered out or built-up for more intense coverage/shimmer, just as described. The texture was very smooth, finely-milled, and blendable; it felt denser and more buttery compared to the blushes (which are a little thin). The shimmer/finish didn’t emphasize pores or my skin’s natural texture. On me, the highlighter wore well for eight and a half hours before fading.

I’m glad you reviewed this one first -before I got my paws on LM Devotion. Although, I’m not sure I’ll be able to resist both in the long run.
On my list it goes!
Happy I could help, Nicole!
The highlighter is pretty, but I think your gorgeous eye look has stolen the show!! Not that I NEED any more neutrals, but that look is selling me hard on the new Viseart palettes. I’m glad Lorac Moonlight scored well, hoping Daylight will do the same. After reading some not-so-great reviews on these highlighters, I waffled back and forth on Daylight before finally pulling the trigger due to 20% Ulta platininum sale, figured if it was bad, I could return
Oooops sorry, I meant the new Laura Mercier highlighters got bad reviews (NOT the Lorac ones), so I got the Lorac one instead. So many new highlighters to keep track of, and this is what happens when I don’t get enough caffeine in the morning!!!
Interesting! I liked the Laura Mercier highlighters – I’ll have to check out more reviews for them.
Yes, I was looking for more swatches, and stumbled upon a couple of You Tubers who gave the Laura Mercier ones thumbs down. They said there was very little pigment, mostly glitter, and the glitter looked cheap. I know they scored well here, and the swatches were beautiful, so I wonder if there’s a QC issue.
Oh, that’s disappointing to hear!
Very nice. It’s definitely not as intense than a lot highlighters out there, but it’s not super-subtle, either. I love really intense highlighters, but it is nice to see something a little different on the market.
I feel like you can build them to be fairly intense, or maybe with a damp brush, but they are a nice mid-way formula.
Very pretty, definitely not too in your face glowy.
I agree!
It’s pretty and rather subtle, looks like my kind of highlighter!
Yay! 😀
Very pretty, especially for lighter complexions, probably NC30 or NW25 or lighter. Although, at NC37-40, I get away with MAC Pearl Blossom, so who knows! Maybe us medium skin folks can go pale pink, too. But, very gingerly!
I think pale pink can work, but I find myself preferring them combined with a blush, then it works. On its own, it can be a little too lightening, in a way.
These are lovely. Looking forward to reviews of the others. I must pick these up next time I’m in the US. These look beginner friendly…harder to overdo than the super intense highlighters. I personally like a more sheered out glow for everyday anyways.
I think you may really like these!
This colour is gorgeous!! I can’t wait to see swatches of Starlight which is I think would be more of my colour! (Ps. Honey Love lipstick looks amazing on you!!)
I hope Starlight is what you want it to be!
This is nice but I’ve enough light pink highlighters to be satisfied lol!
LOL! 🙂
Your eyes look beautiful, Christine! Nice to see the Viseart palette in action. What colour did you end up picking up from the GA Maestro Glow? 4?
I got 4 – it’s too light for me 🙁 It is an interesting product, because it looks too dark when I apply it (in drops), but then I blend it out and it’s like three shades lighter, lol!
The colour in the bottle rather startled me after reading somewhere the shades ran light..it is quite dark and pearly. But shade 4 does morph once applied and actually turns out not too bad for me in terms of a match level wise (new makeup station with better lighting and shocked to find the vast majority of foundations in my stash pull orange), but something about the texture of this new GA on my face drives me absolutely bonkers so I rarely reach for it. Looks nice on you here in the photos though. Foundation..argh, right!
Gahhhh! Honey Bear just looks like an ugly raisen color on my lips but on you it is so pretty!
Aww 🙁
A really gorgeous illuminating powder and I love your whole look Christine. These kinds of colours really suit you and nothing beats that Sephora Good Mood eyeliner.
Thank you, Genevieve!
I loved the old lorac highlighter in shade spotlight. It was my holy grail, but was discontinued. I wonder if there is anything close to it. I am excited for these, can’t wait for the rest of the reviews.
We are so lucky to have all these formulas and colors to play with. I know some women don’t like makeup at all but to me, it’s like having real life coloring books as our faces. Just love it.
Do love these colors on your full face.
Just so much fun for me.
Very pretty, and a nice alternative to Laura Mercier’s Devotion at such a better price. I like many of LM’s powders, bit this looks every bit as pretty. It’ going on my list for when I want a warmer pink highlighter 🙂
I had a feeling the Lorac highlighters would turn out to be beautiful and you definitely proved me right! They’re very soft and pretty. I can’t wait to check them out in person
The highlight is gorgeous and I’m sure I will end up getting it, but dat honey bear lipstick doe! It’s giving me so much life I’m spouting trendy phrases lol
That’s quite lovely!
