The Color Source Buildable Blush formula is supposed to offer–you guessed it–buildable color coverage with a “silky-smooth” consistency available in matte and satin finishes. The texture was thin without being dry or dusty, while the powder was soft and finely-milled in feel. When applied, the color diffused easily along the edges without sheering out too readily. It had medium, buildable coverage, which seemed like a good compromise to making it easier and more forgiving to use while still making it more versatile on more skin tones (though the desaturated quality of color means it is definitely not a universal shade but few, if any, truly are!). I think this might be a possible contouring shade on some skin tones. This shade wore well for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.

Huh, it looks so much more pink on your cheeks. Pretty though!
Unfortunately, it warms up a lot against my skin tone, I think! It doesn’t look pink to me, more coral than pink, to my eye on my screen, though.
Wow, that really changes on your cheek! Totally not what I expected from the swatch. I have a couple other colors in this and I really like them.
I was surprised at just how much it darkened and brightened when applied!
This looks more like a contour, but it looks like an apricot color on you. It’s pretty, but weird how the swatch looks so different.
I was surprised, but even when I tested it and checked in person (I was surprised when I was editing the photos), it was still quite brighter on.
It looks beautiful when it’s actually on your cheek as opposed to its pan color, which did have me thinking that this shade would be too light on me. Seeing it worn, though, has me thinking that this could give me a nice, tawny cheek!
It just might!
I’m surprised, too. Think the take away is caveat emptor, try before you buy. I can’t imagine this would lean so pinky peach on me. I’m going to look up your full face with exposed. The other day, something looked far pinker on you than I expected. Doesn’t lean pink on your arm swatch. Odd.
You posted no full face with exposed. It looks redder in the swatch than cinematic, so I would expect more red tones and less nude than this one turned out. Exposed is very nude with a pink lean, but would not fall into the pink category on me. Maybe I’ll wear a half face of exposed to the store & swatch the other side with cinematic.
In general, I find that the more matte a powder is, the more it can transform once it hits the skin (darken, brighten, or even a dusty matte become patchy).
I didn’t expect the difference in color either, but I do like how it looks on you.
Thanks, Chris!
That brightened up quite a bit. It’s very pretty, though.
It did!
Hmm. It’s interesting how much brighter it is applied on your cheek than in the swatch. It’s still pretty, but I really like the more muted shade in the pan and swatch.
It really did – I don’t know if it’s how it is diffused or that my face is naturally more oily vs. my arm (my arm is very dry, my face is more normal).
I have fair-light skin with a neutral under tone and absolutely LOVE this blush! The only thing with this color for me was that I have to be careful because it’s very easy to over do it…It builds rather easily. Lorac killed it with these blushes!
So glad you’re loving it, Alex!
Amazing color change. Seems a bit too warm to use for contouring on my skin.
I could definitely see it being too warm for contour!
Pretty. I like pink/rose-browns, generally speaking, and I like how this one brightens on you. I’m always up to find a new blush so it’s going on my “go try it in person” list.
Can’t wait for you to check it out, Anne!
Yes, I thought it looked much rosier on your cheeks than what it seemed in the pan. Very pretty and a great rating.
It is pretty on!
I love this. I’d have to swatch but with a light hand this might be a good bronzer for me. I tend to tan peachy/rosy if I’m lucky enough not to burn. It’s rare I can tan though but when I do it’s close to this color, just much much lighter.
I hope you can check it out, Erin!
I just love this entire look on you, so summery and pretty!
Thank you, Melanie!
