Side note, I feel like subculture would be a decent substitute to make similar looks from this palette
Sure! You can always pull dupes for any shades listed in the look by clicking the shade > view dupes to see 🙂
Luverly! You make me want to pull out my Fine (Wine) liner and play.
You should!
I’d be curious to know what you used under the shadows…for moisture. The muted aspect and colors are wonderful, but I think these are the driest looking shadows I have ever seen on you. That is the first thing that jumped out at me in this look. Beautiful, certainly, but I never saw eye texture before….and I know it’s not your application, which is always perfection. The dryness unnerves me about this otherwise stellar offering from ND. I do not recall that the swatches looked so dry. Also, I forget if it is perm or LE.
I didn’t use anything under it. My eyelids are normal-to-dry – I don’t think they appear dry to me, and I feel like I’m seeing the same overall texture of my skin that I see with other shadows (shimmers and mattes alike), though? I see my lid’s texture coming through in a similar way across looks to a +/- but nothing about how my skin looks here is jumping out at me. LOL, I’m looking through a few pages of looks and I’m seeing noticeable texture on my lids/eye skin area in all of them!
These palettes rated well by PMG (some of my favorites), and I can still see my lid texture in a similar way – https://www.temptalia.com/look/a-subversive-look-with-pat-mcgrath/
Not on my monitors. You never have noticeable texture. It’s not your skin, nor your technique. It only looks that way with these mattes. I think light, refined shimmer can diffuse texture, and all matte can accentuate it. In that Pat, maybe a tad. The wee-est tad. And the photos are so close and magnified.
Strange – I see lid texture in just about every shot I’ve taken of my eyes… definitely not smooth to my eye!
Concur with kjh, slightly more texture visible, but I attributed it to to matte perhaps dry) aspect of the ND palette. The others looks I’ve seen and liked usually were never all matte and have shimmers, metallics, etc., so definitely formulas have some bearing here. In particular, I see more of a crease and slightly raised skin texture in this look. On you it’s very slight, but for someone my age, it’s possible these mattes may not work well. Since I on the fence about this ND palette, I’m waiting until all the holiday palettes come out to decide the final list.
I think this look can also be achieved using the Viseart Dark Mattes palette.
Thanks for sharing!
Very me, even at my age. Nice!
Awesome!
